Saints Blow Out Cleveland, Now Half-Game Behind Bucs

November 17th, 2024

Nothing worse than a Victory Sunday for the slimy Saints, especially when New Orleans now has as many wins as Tampa Bay.

The Saints (4-7) jumped to 4-7 today with a 35-14 home win against the Cleveland Browns. It was the Jameis Winston returns game, and it didn’t go Jameis’ way.

The game was tied after three quarters and then it was all New Orleans with tight end/running back/quarterback Taysom Hill going wild.

The Saints’ win came on the heels of them stunning the Falcons (6-4) last week.

Joe sees the Saints’ revival after firing their head coach — following a seven-game losing streak — as a situation putting more pressure on Bucs head coach Todd Bowles. The Bucs simply cannot come out flat or undisciplined next Sunday against the brutal Giants in New Jersey.

Can’t happen.

We might finish last in the division. Who had that on their bingo cards for 2024

  2. Dave Pear Says:

These Bucs under Lovie lose even when they don’t play.

So glad Lovie didn’t have them practice.

  3. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

Shouldn’t happen, might still happen. See: head coach.

  4. Hodad Says:

I picked up Hill in fantasy this week. Anyone still have N.O. as one of those easy wins on our schedule?

  5. Winny Testaverde Says:

At a time like this, I remind myself that last year the Bucs were 4-7 after making CJ Stroud look like Joe Montana. Baker’s career was in life support and “Can Do” Canales was close to returning to writing embarrassing books about how he cheated on his wife while being addicted to porn etc. Bowles was as good as gone too. Then…a turn around. The playoff win last year provided a little too much bravado/false hope for this season me thinks.

Taysum Hill will run wild next go around vs The Bucs. He was out last time and The Rattler came crashing back to earth after a fast start.

  6. I Remember 21 Says:

I & many others warned that we couldn’t take the division stinking for grated forever. While I still don’t think any of the NFCS teams are world beaters, they’re making moves and getting better while we’re standing still. We could finish with the same record as Carolina, mark my words. And that would be them overachieving and us way underachieving. Even if it wasn’t bowles’ fault (it is) somebody has to pay for that.

  7. rrsrqnc Says:

So Denver really is different… not that I feel better about the loss, Peyton kinda has always had our number, but they are for real. Not Super Bowl good, but playoff good

  8. Mac Says:

Oh it can! We are lead by Toilet Bowles. He plays down to terrible teams all the time. I never expect a win with him at the helm! Sorry for being so pessimistic but he gives us little to no hope finding new ways to lose seemingly every week.

  9. Tbbucs3 Says:

Falcons losing is good for keeping the Bucs playoff hopes alive….

And no the Bucs are not gonna last in the division smh 🤦‍♂️

  10. CyberDilemma Says:

I’m surprised you didn’t write an article, Joe, about Saint’s new interim head coach, Rizzi’s appearance on Mcafee last week when he said he called Todd Bowles for advice as soon as he got the head coaching gig. Thought that was interesting a coach would call a division rival for advice on being a head coach.

  11. Larrd Says:

Then again if Falcons lose to Broncos Bucs aren’t too far out of first.

  12. ElioT Says:

Get your popcorn ready. You all know what’s going to happen.

Danny Jones = All World vs Bucs defense.

  13. Saskbucs Says:

Falcons definitely look like they are going down today. Expected better outta the Browns off the bye. Who is saying last in the division hahaha. With the Bucs schedule? 0 chance. Could they lose to NO and CAR, 100% and I fear those last 2 games of the year, but Giants and Raiders better have no shot. We will get outcoached by the Chargers but I am not chalking that up as a loss. Bucs have way more talent than those guys.

Gonna be a battle to the end, todays results don’t change much other than keeping the division win door open with the Falcons, hopefully losing today!

  14. ElioT Says:

    BTW :

Jessie Bates much better than Winfield Jr.

  15. BucFansince96 Says:

Just for those sky is falling folks. Here’s how the team stands against playoff teams if the season ended today

    Playoff teams: 3-6
    Non playoff teams: 1-0

Our last 4 losses have came against teams where we did not finish with either Evans or Godwin. Our last 3 losses either went to OT or almost went to OT. The last two against teams that played in the Super Bowl. If we had either Godwin or Evans I could have seen us splitting the difference and sitting at 6-4 right now. Good news is that our schedule is significantly weaker for the remainder of the year and we are getting Evans back here soon as well as Dean. This team is closer to being a good team than their record shows.

  16. Woodenman Says:

They are talking about benching Daniel Jones so they don’t owe him money. If he gets injured next year is guaranteed.

  17. Dew Says:

Falcons lose today & we beat the Giants next week we’re 1 game back with 6 to play. Then we play the Panthers & the Raiders while Atlanta plays Chargers & Vikings. We could be 1 game ahead with 3 to play.

  18. MadMax Says:

    Thank you denver

  19. Winny Testaverde Says:

The problem with that ( benching Jones )…Drew Lock might be better. Tommy Devito could beat Bowles Buc Defense. Heck…Danny Devito might fare well vs the current scheme

  20. Steven #55 Says:

    Danny Devitto lol

    Bravo sir

  21. Dave Pear Says:

The Falcons and Cousins are pitiful. So glad our superior coach let us get swept by them.

  22. Bucfan1988 Says:

Falcons getting SPANKED by Denver 😂😂😂!!

    Bronco’s D is for real….

    Our divisional race ain’t over!!!!

Rest up Bucs, buckle your chin-straps, and let’s get back into the race starting next week!!

  23. Bosch Says:

Saints Bucs will be a revenge game for saints. Remember hanging a 50?

  24. Bosch Says:

Falcons about to drop second straight. Here comes the Raheem collapse!

  25. adam from ny Says:

    division getting tight af…

these falconi’s really suck…yeah they’ve got our number, but in general, they are average at best…i see them going 3-3 down the stretch to a 9-8 fin fin…

    saints are heating up…

and we really gotta watch out for davey cantalopes and the panthers…they’re gonna want to steal a game vs. us, if it’s the last thing they do this season…

(and payton is 3 to 5 players away from competing with the chiefs for the division next season…dude is some kinda coach!)

  26. adam from ny Says:

it’s super clear…the falcons are not a better than average group…

they just ball out vs. the bucs for whatever reason

  27. Chris Cotten Says:

Why are you even talking about the Aints??

  28. dmatt Says:

No way I can defend Bowles. He was inherited a Super Bowl team n what did he do, he choked. Look at what the Texans coach did with new team n coaches, look at what the commanders coach did. Bowles is not a good coach, leader or motivator. He inherited a 13-4 Super Bowl Brady team only to regressed to 8-9 then 9-8. That is unacceptable.

  29. HC Grover Says:

Never fear Blunderbowles is here. We will win if he is blunder free. That is the key.

  30. DBS Says:

I don’t defend Bowles. He may have inherited a Super Bowl team but he also got the price to go with it. What is happening is on that, Bowles and Licht. Draft players that should never have been drafted. Keep playing players that shouldn’t be no an NFL field. Don’t bring in help when it is available and yes they could do it. This is a total organization meltdown. Kancey is not the saviour he was advertised he was going to be. The guy can’t even get on the field to start the season 2 years in a row.

  31. Bobby M. Says:

4th and 2…..Bills could play safe, kick a FG but instead they play to WIN! Bowles is such an unbelievable coward.

  32. Alstott40 Says:

Bills beat KC. Crazy what playing to win vs playing not to lose will do for a team.

  33. Bucfan1988 Says:

Falcons are NOT better than Bucs on even terms…..

1st loss to Falcons this year, Bucs had to travel to Atlanta on that Thursday nite game after that HOT Sunday game at home….
Bucs had no Vita, no Antoine Winfield, and no Calijah Kancey….

2nd loss to Falcons at home, Bucs had another short week from the Monday football game previous week…..Bucs already lost BOTH Evans & Godwin before this game….

Like I said, in full go And on an even field, I think Bucs are better than the Falcons

  34. Dave Pear Says:

Gotta love it when every post is sent to New York for further review.

    Way to go, Algo Rhythm.

  35. Dan the Bucs Fan Says:

We are the best team in this divsion. Our best hope to make playoffs is to catch and pass Atlanta. We played the second hardest schedule in history of nfl it took a toll on us physically and mentally.

We come back from the bye we go 6-1 win the divsion at 10-7.

    That’s how I see it.

  36. Pewter Power Says:

Bucs come out with a sense of urgency but could also come out slept like they were forced to sit through 3 years of Bowles press conferences in the bye week.

Doesn’t matter who loses in the division if Bowles is coach, he can’t beat the falcons anyway and we still have another game against the saints

  37. Usfbuc Says:

Seahawks beat the 49ers and the Falcons lost both good results for us.

  38. Lightningvinny Says:

Wow !! What a call by McDermit ,,, 4th and 2 in FG range up by 2,, puts it in Josh Allen’s hands ,,, it was the only call ,,, you kick the FG you are up by 5 and Mahomes wins,,, you get stopped Mahomes wins ,,,
It was the only play !!! Bowles kicks FG and prays the D stops Mahomes ,,, the wrong call,,,

  39. Kenton Smith Says:

The way the Falcons took a spanking today I believe 9-8 may take this division.

  40. Dave Pear Says:

The result we all need happens after the season is over in January. We will find out who Jason hires to succeed BA. BA’s loyalty to his proteges was his biggest flaw. This dude we haszn now has shown every possible reason why he ain’t it. Stifle a productive offense. Collapse a promising defense. Game management decisions truly the worst we’ve ever seen.

  41. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We have several teams looking at playoffs….if you give Lions, Sf, Phil & Atl division titles……you still have Packers, Vikings, Cardinals, Seahawks , Wash with better records….we only have tie breaker with Wash…..

  42. Tampabaybucfan Says:

My point with all these teams is that 10 wins is not a guarantee…we need the division.

  43. adam from ny Says:

yeah division is the only option people…

we ain’t going in as a wild card with the likes or wash, gb and minn lurking in the wild card spots

  44. Darin Says:

It’s a long season settle in Joey.

  45. Mac Says:

Agree Adam no chance of a wild card. Bucs have to finish 6-1 to win division due to losing tiebreaker with Atlanta. Falcons aren’t going 8-9. Saints aren’t out of it yet either. If they beat the Rams next week they only have 2 teams with winning records left GB and Wash both beatable.

  46. Dave Pear Says:

88% chance the Bucs come out against the Giants flatter than a 12-inch silicon wafer. Giants score a TD on their opening possession, 7 plays, 75 yards, making it look like 7 on 7 drills. I know, it never happens.

    Oh, wait.

    Giants 32 Lovies less.

  47. Lightningvinny Says:

10-7,,, total chance at wild card or division,,,, we would have the NFC tie breaker ,,, for any multiple 3 or more tie

  48. Dave Pear Says:

After Lovie loses humiliatingly to the Giants, the talk will be how we can run the table and finish 10-7. While that talk makes zero sense, it will be the talk. After a few more losses, a dead snook and a few acolytes will bring up the same ole excuses.
