Bucs Will Face Eagles Monday Night, Jan. 15, At 8 P.M. In Tampa

January 7th, 2024

It’s official.

The sad Eagles (11-6) limped into the playoffs today, losing to the Giants 27-10 in a game Philadelphia needed for a shot to win the NFC East. And Philly lost multiple players to injury — after they didn’t show up while the Cowboys pounded the Commanders to win the division.

As a result of their Wild Card berth, the Eagles will travel to Tampa to face the Bucs on Monday night, Jan. 15, at 8 p.m.

Joe loves the Monday night time slot. That gives Baker Mayfield an extra day to rest his messy ankle and bruised ribs, and it let’s Joe maul Big Storm beers all day on Sunday.

Overall, its a great situation for Tampa Bay, which looks like a team that requires a struggling opponent in order to advance to the next round of the postseason.

    I like our chances!!!

  2. Tye Says:

    Listen real closely….
That is the celebration of Eagle’s fans and players getting a get-right playoff game against the worst coached team in the playoffs!

  3. Bucs13 Says:

@Tye. The Bucs are actually better coached than the Eagles right now. They are dysfunction

  4. Rick Says:

I read somewhere where the Eagles ‘wanted’ to lose to play us! Imagine that….

They’d rather travel here to beat us than face a tougher team at home…

  5. Preston Says:

    Get the Sage a cheesesteak!!

  6. HC Grover Says:

The only playoff team we have a chance to beat. Today broke good for the Bucs. Thank You Pack

  7. D-Rome Says:

Best of luck to the Bucs. Too many losers today regretting that the Bucs won the division.

  8. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

Tampas defenses has always been signature. From double V to the Tampa lawn chair two. We’re in it to win it! Lfg!

  9. sasquatch Says:

2nd year in a row we enter the playoffs as the weakest team. Maybe we’re lucky the Eagles have been sliding, and maybe, just maybe, they can find a way to win it… But we only beat CAR by 9… Does anyone think we’re really any good? I don’t.

  10. ElioT Says:

Todd Bowels has the whole league right where he wants them.

Those poor Eagles won’t know what hit them.

Wonder if #lichtmyballs will be talking s*** on social media after next week?

  11. Paratrooper Buc Says:

People with short memories forget projections was the Bucs would only win a handful of games and not even win a wildcard spot. We would be one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Bowles is our coach. Baker is our QB. The team won the NFC South. We are one of the top 14 teams in the NFL. I may have questions about the team and the future beyond the season. For now, as a fan I want to congratulate them for the third title in a row and wish for them to beat the Eagles next week. Go Bucs!!!

  12. Rod Munch Says:

This is the best possible matchup for the Bucs to get a W.

The Eagles are on a big slide, playing awful, meaning the Bucs should have a chance if Baker doesn’t play like he’s played these last two weeks.

The Bucs will still be the underdog, but anything is possible if you get good QB play … and this will be the biggest game in career of Baker, so he had better show up if he wants a new deal from anyone. If he ends the season with three horrific games in a row, with everything on the line, no one is giving him a big deal.

I’m no Baker fan, but I really really really want him to play well. There are no worse people on earth than trash from Philly – and nothing makes me more happy than to see them crying.

So let’s all hope that good Baker decides to shows up, and if he does, maybe he sticks around for a few more weeks.

  13. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

Did you all notice how the teams captains showed up today? Lfg

  14. optimisticbucsfan Says:

  15. Bosch Says:

Just curious. What was the tiebreaker that gives the division to the Bucs in stead of Norleans?

  16. BucsLife Says:

@joe what about the injuries to AJ Brown and did you see Jalen Hurts finger ? Ouch, but might be something to look at

  17. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

‘There are no worse people that the trash from Philly’. Truer words have never been spoken. I’m already firing up my rhonde barber voodoo doll with brand new needles! Lfg!

  18. Buc4evr Says:

I want Baker to play well, but I also want our boneheaded coaches to call good plays and to manage the clock. Canales needs to realize that playoff games are played a lot faster and are all about scoring points. 9 points won’t work.

  19. SufferingSince76 Says:

I seem to recall a similar situation in 1979. It could happen again.

  20. TampaBayRudy Says:

We’re gonna get cracked. Todd Bowles can clearly torpedo a team singlehandedly. With a battered QB, he adamantly refuses to play his backup, even for a few snaps. He’s so pigheaded. And btw, if the offense was hamstrung by a young OC, he would have addressed it; he’s the tip-top guy. It’s painfully obvious that this stagnant offensive scheme we’ve seen the last two years across two OCs is the brainchild of a brainless, pigheaded dolt. I hate this, because we all know we’re not going to the Super Bowl. What we ARE is: gonna have our arses handed to us by the Eagles, at home. Remember how we shut down the Vet? “Rocky” in the stands; punching air to the Rocky theme??? Difference then is that Joe Jurevicius played angry, and we had a defense that played something other than “prevent”. Now we give the Eagles a ramp to lift off from in style; with proper and justified vengeance. Again, I hate you Todd Bowles. Thank you for pushing us as far back in the draft just before we get an empty moment of solace watching you (hopefully) get canned first thing yesterday. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

  21. Jerry Says:

The bad news is many Bucs fans will sell their tickets to Eagles fans and try to make a profit off the game.

  22. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

All you negative Nancy’s need to stfu and go quiet. Go bucs

  23. Francisco Guzman Says:

Bucs might be what the iggles need. Bucs defense and mayfield has to play better to have any shot.

  25. NJbucs23 Says:

You should hear the sports talk radio up here in Philly area. I have to tell my eagles family and friends fans.

Sigh we have to watch this.

  26. BucsFan81 Says:

Well it depends on what Bucs team shows up. If it’s the team that won 4 straight then yeah the Eagles could easily lose. If it’s the team that got pounded by the saints a couple weeks ago well then we will lose.

  27. D Cone Says:

Better feel good about going against the weak Eagles after your QB had one of the worse games of any team that played his week. Of teams that were in a must win for a chance to advance it was the worse. Even Mason Rudolph played better. Of the 4 QB’s in the NFC South Mayfield was last in iPasser Rating and not much better than Young.

QB similar in production today was Geno Smith in important games. As Mayfield has been compared to Smith look forward to getting to the playoffs, getting bounced in the first round, giving him a nice deal, and watch it go to crap. Seattle was 4 strokes of luck from being 5-12. Even at 9-8 Smith may have cost Carroll his job and the next coach will be moving on.

Let’s just call him Big Game Baker to fell better and hope for 5 INT’s from the opposing QB ala Pittsburgh.

  31. Ugotrobbed Says:

Eagles have a HUGE edge in the trenches… D-line and O-line!! See a can of whoop-a** coming!!

  32. Bosch Says:

Everyone should check out the Dennis Allen post game press conference. As much as I hate the Saints, he appears to be a class act. After canning Bowles, and Norleans ANTICIPATED canning of Allen, he night be a great candidate for our next DC. .

He was playing hurt with sore ribs and a sore ankle. So the numbers are not surprising. Try to throw a football when your ribs hurt. That’s a really awful feeling and pain killers do nothing. Yes, it could very much be a problem next week if he doesn’t heal up this week. That’s a big ? with this game.

We still have the Cigar Store Indian on the sideline. By all rights, the Bucs should win as pis( poor as the Beagles have been playing. However, if they don’t, I hope the Glazers do the right thing and can Bowels. He has reached his ceiling. Mediocre is all he will ever be as a Head Coach.

    ———

On paper, certainly. The Eagles should stomp the Bucs.

But the Eagles have been terrible lately, and that gives the Bucs a chance.

The Eagles are 1-5 in their last 6 – but more importantly are 1-2 in their last three, vs the Giants who they split with and the Cardinals.

None of that matters if Baker plays like he’s played the last two games, the Bucs will lose by 30 if that’s the case. However, if good Baker shows up, the Bucs will have a chance. It really just comes down to that.

  40. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Eagles fans are all calling for Nick Sirianni to be fired, lol. How pathetic.

  41. Tbbucs3 Says:

If Bakers healthy, the Bucs should win this game and make a legitimate playoff run. The Eagles are not the same team they were in the 1st half of the season.

But it all depends on Bakers health cause if we get that version of Baker then the Panthers are pretty much the only team we can beat.

  42. BucNasty Says:

Bucs win 5 of their last 6 games only to have their idiotic fans trash them. You guys go ahead and stay miserable. Me personall, I’m going to enjoy the ride while it lasts.

  43. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

The Bucs beat the eagles if my rhonde barber eagles voodoo doll with freshly pricked needles has any thing to do with this outcome!

  44. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Any rumors on when we will play ? I’ve seen some predictions and conjecture, but nothing solid.

  45. Mark hardt Says:

Nobody really knows what is going to happen. That is why we bother to watch.

  46. Let ‘em bake Says:

Aj brown tweaked his knee today. His absence next week could be huge. Probably the reason eagles only opened a 2.5 favorite.

  47. Dave Pear Says:

Last year the Cowboys came to Tampa for the playoffs, in the same mode as the flailing Eagles now. We all know what happened.

If Bowles doesn’t release the handcuffs and go into attack mode on offense, it will be a repeat of last season’s embarrassment.

But he won’t because he is Todd. A great next door neighbor, guy to have beers with.

    A horrible NFL head coach.

  48. Trask To The Future Says:

BAKER NEEDS TO SIT. HE’S INEFFECTIVE. Hurt or not.

    Start Trask already!

Green Bay @ Dallas: 8pm Sunday

    Eagles at Bucs: MNF

    —-

That was a very different situation. Dungy was canned after 6 years. He only won the division once. And he struggled in the playoffs, and struggled to find an offense (he burned through 3 OCs and all were bad).
Bowles has only had 2 years and won the division both times, was handed a REALLY REALLY bad cap situation, lost a HOF QB to retirement, and has a rookie OC. It’s almost a given he gets another year. Now, next year, I do think you will need to see some better decisions, some more consistency, and advancing beyond a wild card game.

  51. Pelsbuc61 Says:

Tampa got its participation trophy today. Next week they will get embarrassed again by a superior team and hopefully the search to replace Bowles and company will only have been delayed a week.

  52. Jack Clark Says:

We have a better chance to beat the eagles than the cowboys because we already played them before this season in our home stadium and have more familiarity with them. I do know we will not win if Baker Mayfield can only throw 134 yards and score zero touchdowns like his sorry as did today 😂

  53. Rusty Shackleford Says:

FYI: Fournette playing for the Bills tonight.

  54. Rusty Shackleford Says:

FWIW, these graphics that NBC is using tonight are annoying and distracting.

  55. Buc4evr Says:

Bucs can win if Baker and the offense shows up and if the O line can deal with the blitz. Canales needs to get real on down and distance. Oh and the WRs need to catch the damn ball. Have to score 30 points.

  56. Bosch Says:

I remember John Madden calling a Bucs game back in the Dungy – Dilfer days. Of course this was also the Sapp – Brooks – Lynch defense. During one of their trademark low scoring games Madden remarked “when I think of the Bucs, I think of 9 points. Wasn’t sure if he was dissing the offense or complimenting the defense. This game brought back that memory.

  57. MF Bucs Says:

    Stop with the Trask talk!

  58. PanhandleBuc Says:

Best case scenario for both teams! If we stand a chance, our O playbook has to open up and be creative!! Please no more jet sweeps, end arounds from #83…it’s very inefficient!! Get CG to move the chains, run White outside, pre snap motions, Cade otton down the seam, and let Evans win deep!!

  59. SteelStudBuc Says:

Lot of negative folks… they just won the division and are hosting a home playoff game… we’re projected to be near the bottom of the standings. This is entertaining and exciting every week, good or bad! LFG!! Defense showed out and shut out! Revenge game vs Eagles! Can’t wait!

If he has a terrible day, it’s because everyone dropped the ball, because his ribs hurt, because someone stepped on his foot, because the sun was in his eyes. It’s pitiful.

Baker sucked today and he sucked last week, he nearly cost the team their chance at the playoffs.

He’s got a chance to redeem himself next week, and I hope he does. Just like I hope you slip and fall into a puddle of AIDS. LOL!

  79. Armybucsfan Says:

Don’t be too excited. Non of the eagles starters played. we will need to practice the football gods for the Bucs to get their heads out of their arses to play against Philly. We need both sides of the team to show up. Not just our defense. Todays game was a huge disappointment and if by some miracle we beat the eagles, the cowboys would make us look silly AF.

  80. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Based on a lot of the comments people would be pissed if we won the SB this season because it means Bowles would be back next season. Can’t we just enjoy the week before the playoff game without everyone fighting with each other? It could be the last playoff game for over a decade. We’ve been there before. Playoff games don’t grow on trees in Tampa

  81. David Says:

  82. unbelievable Says:

  83. BelleGladeBuc Says:

The game against the Eagles is going to come down to whether the Bucs OLINE can handle the Eagles DLINE.

Jordan Davis is a 6’6”, 350 lbs Godzilla like monster as a DT who will line up in the A gap and go against Hainsey or Stinnie or Mauch.

Jalen Carter and Marlon Tuipulotu are two more monster DT who will line up in the B gap and go against Stinnie or Mauch.

Future Hall of Famer Fletcher Cox will also rotate in as a defensive tackle.

Edge rushing wrecking ball Hassan Reddick will line up on Goedeke.

If the defensive front 4 is able to control the trenches your offense will struggle no matter who the quarterback is.

In the first game against the Eagles the number one reason why our offense stunk was because our OLINE got dominated, and that’s not Baker’s or White’s or ME13’s fault at all.

Its that matchup that has me worried.

What are the Bucs record at home? How did they play against the Taints? How did they play against the Eagles last time? The answers are history and a tell for how the Baker/Blowles Bucs will play

  111. snookman9 Says:

    Go Bucs.
I think we can beat the eagles but I dont think we will. I think winning the division is our superbowl for 2023. Im a realist. My expectations were exceeded and I really like what we did this season. The 4 game winning streak at the end of the season which included the win at Green Bay was enough for me to say this season was a success.

Of course I hope we win and Of course I think we have a chance……..but im not betting against he eagles in this game.

The eagles are a mess but so was Dallas last year coming into out game and they killed us.

No pressure on the Bucs we had a nice season.

  112. David Says:

    Baker fans;

How did Bucs win today scoring only 3FG ? I tell you. Panthers score zero. Why ? I tell you. Antoine W. and the defense shut down the trash Bryce Y.

You all saw how Baker had no rib injury as he got hit several times. If Baker has a terrible day, the OC bad play calls, it’s because everyone dropped the ball, his ribs hurt, someone stepped on his foot, or the sun was in his eyes.

Did you notice he starts limping after each mis-throws and how he jumped up and down after each completions.

Baker sucked today and last week.

  113. Rusty Shackleford Says:

I can see the Rams beating the Lions, but the Packers beating Dallas ? Hard task. I could have seen the Rams beating the Cowboys and the Packers beating the Lions, but not the other way around.

  114. Kidfloflo Says:

Once again this site amazes me…so Baker plays every game, hurt or not all season, wins the Division, we host a playoff game….and people are begging for Trask to start his first game at this moment!!???? Unreal

  115. TBSwarm Says:

Bucs always seem to choke on Monday night. Here’s hoping they turn it around! Go Bucs!

Bucs always seem to choke on Monday night.

    ———

That’s the first thing I thought as well, but looked up the stats, and the Bucs have an all-time winning record on MNF, 14 wins, 13 loses.

Certainly doesn’t feel that way, but the numbers show otherwise.

  117. Rick Brooks Says:

I am disgusted with the negativity being expressed about the Bucs by so called fans of the team! Instead of appreciating the team making the playoffs, it’s the same crap that’s been spewed all year. Bowels can’t coach, Trask should be the quarterback, Mayfield sucks! We’ll, the coach who can’t coach and the quarterback so many hate have won nine games, when some experts predicted three wins. Even if they don’t advance, I am proud of what they’ve accomplished, considering the cap situation and every other obstacle they overcame.

Can we please stop the BS, take a deep breath, and SUPPORT THE TEAM?

This year has gone a long way to ensuring that with some additions and changes through the draft and free agency, and the continued growth of this seasons rookies and young players, the future for Bucs football is looking pretty exciting to this fan!

Not a Baker fan, but the guy was clearly injured from start to finish.

  120. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Bills and Dolphins just changed on a dime.

  121. Bucs 95 Says:

Jason garret just tried our ass on the halftime show he said this game is more about the eagles then bucs cause they been struggling smh watch espn all week talk about the eagles and there bs struggles and not one mention too tampa this is what they wanted man when we win it will feel soo good

  123. Slacker Says:

  124. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Wait, Night Court was brought back ? WTH ? I guess they really are out of ideas.

  125. Rjscheapseats Says:

There really are a lot of trash fans on this board. Jerks who say the same thing over and over and who 3 months ago were saying we wouldn’t win 5 games.

I suspect many of these people have never been inside RJS.

    They really are pathetic.

  126. David Says:

    Wow,
Are you a a season ticket holder ? You better harry up and grab one before they are sold out. Talk is cheap. Are you so excited with Bucs future with Toilet Bowl and Baker scoring 22 points 2TD, 4 turnovers in the last two games limping into the playoffs with the same recored as Saints and barely over .500 in this great division ?
If the answer is yes, then Bucs organization loves you. Wait, if only if you put your mouth were your money is by purchasing a season ticket not watching local TV while drinking Kool – aid.

  127. Rusty Shackleford Says:

@RJS: Back in August, I predicted the Bucs would go 6-11. I said that they would be competitive in most games and play hard but that they didn’t have the horses. I was wrong and I freely admit it.

  128. confido75 Says:

If Bowles has this team ready and they put up a fight win or lose, I’ll give him the credit he deserves. If he lays a big egg on the field, chokes and the Bucs are embarrassed on Monday night football by double digits, he needs to be fired! No excuses! The Glazers fired Dungy when he lost in the playoffs and he is a HOF coach and far superior to Bowles. So, again, no excuses by the Glazers if Bowles blows it and this team gets spanked by Philly.

  129. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    Miami is reeling, lol.

  130. Rod Munch Says:

Miami should want to lose that game. If not they’d face Buffalo again next week, and it’s really really hard to win vs the same team 2 weeks in a row.

  131. Crazysabre Says:

This is BS the Bucs play Monday! We have the worst record in prime time games, NFL must want Eagles in this. Bowles needs this win to keep his job as the owners won’t just tolerate a playoff trip, must win.

  132. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Chris Collingsworth just referred to Tyreek Hill as a “surefire hall-of-famer”. Lol.

  133. NYbucsfan Says:

    🔥 Bowles!

  134. Pewter power Says:

its a great situation for Tampa Bay, which looks like a team that requires a struggling opponent

Please tell me we won’t start talking about how beatable a team is for the Bucs. Those kinds of articles haven’t aged well this year

  135. Jerry Says:

Bucs are 2.5 point underdogs in the early betting line.

  136. RGA Says:

It’s the best possible matchup for the Bucs, a reeling Eagles team. The issue is we have a totally inconsistent Mayfield at QB.

  137. David Says:

    Joe says;
Its a great situation for Tampa Bay, which looks like a team that requires a struggling opponent.”

Well Joe, Bucs barley defeated the worst team in NFL with 3FG with their shut out defense. Can it get any worst than that ? Any struggling team would still be better than the stinking Panthers.

  138. Tbbucs3 Says:

Not surprised that the Traskies still cant accept defeat…..im sure Kyle Trask himself is ashamed of his cult following. The Bucs are currently the team in the playoffs where a portion of their fan base wants the starter BENCHED for their backup….just unreal stupidity that this is even a discussion still.

  139. MadMax Says:

The stink finger birds… BRING IT BISHES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  140. David Says:

I predict Toilet Bowl will be fired with a loss to Eagles or might be saved for another week of playoffs if he wins at home. No matter what he will be dismissed with his son, Baker at the end of the season.

  141. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Awful lack of push by the Bills offensive line.

  142. RGA Says:

Tbbucs3, Mayfield sucks, a terrible performance against the lowly Panthers.

  143. David Says:

    Baker fans:
Again just shut up and post after your trash boy shows up in a game or at least win his second playoffs game in 6 years. Do not attack or make comments on his back up or the re-sign talks of Baker.

  144. FortMyersDave Says:

Bosch: the tiebreaker was winning percentage versus common opponents, evidently the Bucs lost to the Bills and the Saints beat the Pats was the one thing different about their schedule; thus the Bucs had a one game advantage in common opponents and won the tiebreaker.

  145. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    Lol @ Dolphins.

  146. Rusty Shackleford Says:

KC will blow out the Dolphins next week. Miami doesn’t even want to keep playing.

  147. FortMyersDave Says:

Tua grabbed his ankles in a clutch moment, Bills win! Special teams also let Miami down.

  148. Rod Munch Says:

Best thing possible for the Dolphins, there is zero chance they’d be able to beat the Bills again next week had they won.

However the Dolphins should be able to go on the road and beat the Chiefs, who are down to having to start J Watson at WR, a guy who wasn’t able to make the top 7 WRs in Tampa.

  149. Rod Munch Says:

SURE THE BUCS MAY FACE A FIGHT,
BUT WITH POSITIVITY, THEY’LL SHINE BRIGHT.

  150. RGA Says:

The Eagles are playing poor football, the recipe for their rebound is facing the inconsistent Baker Mayfield. I’m sure they are licking their chops knowing they have Mayfield in their sights.

  151. Bucs 95 Says:

Tua can come through in big games still makes dumb interceptions like trevor larwence they been in the league 3 years now

  152. Tbbucs3 Says:

    RGA

Are you suggesting we start Trask Monday night?

  153. RGA Says:

Baker check down Mayfield, the QB who struggles to complete a forward pass beyond 10 yards.

  154. RGA Says:

Tbbucs3, they should have started Trask a long time ago. Obviously not starting him now. I have no idea if Trask is the answer, I do know Mayfield is not.

  155. David Says:

    RGA
    LOL
    Are you for real???
If he was the QB, this team would have won five games.
    Get a grip 😂

  156. David Says:

Canales hopefully looks at what has taken place over the last six weeks… The Eagles are losing because teams are passing all over them. They are not run run run run run.!!
Their offense has been unable to handle the blitz, so that feeds right into the Buccaneers defense

  157. Steven007 Says:

The answer to what? Winning games and getting us in the playoffs? We already have the guy who’s the answer to that question. And who clearly gives us the best shot in a playoff game. That’s kind of the long and short of it. Anything else is pure conjecture based on exactly no evidence.

  158. Tbbucs3 Says:

If the Bucs started Trask “long ago” the Bucs would not currently be in the postseason….

Nobody’s disagreeing that Mayfield sucked today….but to pretend like he hasnt been solid this season is nonsense.

  159. RGA Says:

We have no idea how Trask would do because we have not seen him, it’s all speculation. We’ve seen plenty of Mayfield.

  160. Tbbucs3 Says:

I remember fans having a meltdown wanting Baker benched after the 1st quarter of the season vs Minnesota…..thank god we didnt.

  161. Curse of Gruden Says:

    In Midge Moxie we trust.

  162. RGA Says:

All these comments suggesting Trask would be terrible has no merit, we’ve never seen him.

  163. Tbbucs3 Says:

The Mayfield lead Bucs are not only the best team in the NFC south but arguably in the state of Florida now with the Dolphins heading to KC for a likely first round bounce.

  164. RGA Says:

remember fans having a meltdown wanting Baker benched after the 1st quarter of the season vs Minnesota…..thank god we didn’t

Totally false. We seen him all the time where he belongs.

  166. RGA Says:

Tbbucs3, take Mayfields jock strap out of your mouth. Your man crush is fine and dandy for you. Let’s be realistic here.

  167. Bucs13 Says:

I don’t see how the Eagles stop our passing attack with Godwin, Evans, and White out of the backfield. They shouldn’t be favorites. I’m not a big Baker fan, but I’ll take him over Hurts and Mariota even with bad ribs. If Vegas had any sense, they would have Bucs as favorites. The Eagles are living off last year.

  168. Tbbucs3 Says:

What makes Kyke Trask any different than Kyle Mond or Matt Corral? Neither of those guys have seen live action either but professional coaches evaluate them everyday and have largely determined theyd be cruddy NFL starters. RGA, take the L and move on.

  169. RGA Says:

What makes Trask different is that we have not seen him.

  171. Tbbucs3 Says:

The NFL has not seen Kellen Mond or Matt Corral either

  172. RGA Says:

None of us has seen Trask in a meaningful game, he might be a bum. If that’s so then the Bucs organization needs to look elsewhere for a new QB, free agency, trade or the draft. Mayfield cannot be the guy the Bucs rely on for the future.

  173. Tbbucs3 Says:

RGA so your willing to throw away top 15 production for a guy who “might be a bum?” Sounds reckless, good thing the Bucs wont be doing that.

  174. RGA Says:

I’m willing to throw away a mediocre QB that is best served as a a good backup QB in this league. I want a QB at the helm that can throw the football accurately down field, a QB that defenses fear.
    No defense fears Mayfield.

  175. maccafan Says:

The supposed fans on this sight are incredible for their negativity. Sure, let’s start Trask who has had maybe 10 snaps all year in a game that is win or go home – lol. I live in Charlotte NC and went to game today with friend of mine who has season tickets. Kudos to the Bucs fans that were in Charlotte today, there were a bunch of them there today and the ones around me were pretty vocal. The Bucs offense with Baker did not have a good day but Panther secondary defense is pretty good. The defense carried the Bucs today, but they also were big reason Bucs lost to Texans. Bucs need better effort by offense in post season.

One final time, please stop with the Barker is trash comments. He completed over 64% of his passes for over 4,000 yards. He had 28 TD passes with 10 INT’s. I am not saying he is an elite QB, but he is probably in the top 15. Once again, I will remind people on this site Baker even with incentives made less than 10 million this year. I think he was quite a bargain for the Bucs.

Monday night game is good timing, gives Baker more time to heal. You could tell he was hurting today. Bucs have shot of winning; this is not the same Eagle team that went to the Super Bowl, believe Hurts has injury issue also. Looking forward to the game.

    —-

Thats the beauty of all this. He has completely devastatd your hater dreams. Today You are the proud owner of no higher than a 20th pick in the draft

Mission accomplished. Good luck dreaming any QB you want is dropping that low.

  177. McGz Says:

It’s obvious there are a lot of fair weather fans posting here that didn’t experience the ineptitude of the early history of this franchise or the 10 year playoff drought. Be appreciative of any playoff game. 3 NFC South Championships in a row!! In cap hell, with Bowles as Coach.

Playoffs are an entire new season, we’re one of the healthiest teams still playing. Heal up Baker! Defense tightened up today. Panthers D is top 5.

Best case scenario for us to advance and make a push. Enjoy the ride ya’ll!!

  178. RGA Says:

Tony, you are correct in suggesting that the Bucs will draft in the back half of the draft. It’s a QB rich draft this year, maybe the Bucs get lucky and someone like Penix falls to us. If not maybe we sign a guy like Kirk Cousins.
The Bucs need improvement at the QB position.

  179. Billy Says:

We all need to just be happy the Buccaneers are in the playoffs.
All of us from the orange days would have prayed to be here.

  180. orlbucfan Says:

Amen, Billy. BTW, I was at that 1979 Playoff win against the Eagles. I’m concerned about BM’s health. He’s hurt. The other one is Canales and his game plans. I’ve been through the Bucs’ Dark Ages. Never wore a bag over my head, but those seasons were rough for a fan. 2024 is almost 180 degrees removed from the dismal 1980s.

  181. Capt.Tim Says:

    So glad its Monday!
Everyday of rest for Mayfield is critical to our chances of moving forward.
Baker rallied a bad team into winning a CHAMPIONSHIP!
Lets see how much further he can take us!
