Chris Godwin Has A New Neck Injury; Other Bucs Miss Practice

November 30th, 2023

Joe got a neck injury following all the C.J. Stroud passes through the air against the Bucs earlier this month.

Chris Godwin has a neck injury that Joe suspects is more serious.

Godwin surprisingly appeared on the today’s official Bucs injury report. He was limited in practice with that bad neck.

Out from practice today was iconic Bucs linebacker Lavonte David, still nursing his bad groin. Jamel Dean was out (foot/ankle), as was rookie LB SirVocea Dennis (sick) and Devin White (foot). Man, talk about being thin at linebacker!

Carlton Davis was full-go on his banged up ankle. Regarding the other bad ankles on the Bucs, Baker Mayfield got through the entire practice and starting rookie edge rusher YaYa Diaby was limited. Tristan Wirfs may have a healing ankle but he’s not on the injury report.

This is an illustration of D.R.’s accurate observation that one of the major deficiencies created by cap hell is no depth!

No need to whine. The Bucs mortgaged the future for a Super Bowl and who would argue that wasn’t worth it. Most consider it an excellent deal!

But now it’s time to pay the piper. The Bucs have what appears to be an excellent draft class and if they could get another next year the following year cap hell disappears.

Build the team BEFORE gambling on an untested rookie QB from the draft who will fail if the OL is not stout, receivers and RB’s not in place and a great defense to back it all up.

Same crap every week. Did the spread change?

Holding at 4.5 per Hard Rock Bet since a few hours after Frank Reich got canned.

    Shut him down.

… ps did I miss the Desean Jackson story since he retired? Or is that an offseason bombshell revelation kind of story?

I’m starting to think..this is part of the buildup to a humiliating loss to the Panthers.

Hopefully “The Game Thrower” (Devin White) is out…He should be out of football altogether.

So, we have 0 ILBs practicing right now lol?

    This Sunday should go swimmingly…

Unbelievable … ‘So, we have 0 ILBs practicing right now lol?’

None of the starters practicing, but we still do have a couple of healthy ILBs on our 53-man roster who could start if necessary … KJ Britt & JJ Russell. Neither has much experience to be sure, but ‘it is what it is’ as they say.

Just noticed too that we signed a new LB to our Practice Squad, Vi Jones. Was with Seattle for a several games, but saw no action. Looks like he had a real nice college career at North Carolina State (2020 & 2021 he got 9 sacks as a LB, plus 13 TFLs and forced 4 fumbles to lead the ACC). His father was Robert Jones (who had a nice 10-year career as a LB), and his uncle is Jeff Blake (had a 13-year career as kind of a journeyman QB). Never know, might see our new LB this weekend too.

Why I’m the heck did we not go get Shaq Lenored who the colts let go. Dude was a beast before the injury bug hit him m. He’s was in Dallas this week hanging with Jerry heard them talking about it on the radio. Bucs don’t try to upgrade and we don’t have any startering LBs practicing. Sheesh

A few of those guys have already shutit down.
Lets get some young, hungry players in the game.
Better than watching our “stars” coast.

I smell a breakout game… for the Panthers. Our defense has a lot of key injuries. Does anyone think like me that if Lavonte had played last week we might have won that game? Missing a starting cornerback and both inside linebackers. Devin White may not be such a loss but Lavonte David will be missed again. He is the heart and soul of the defense. He should have gotten both Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean’s new contracts, he earned it they didn’t. Hope I’m wrong but if our defensive line doesn’t come to play and control the game and we have to rely on Britt and Russell to make those Lavonte David plays then Carolina could put up too many points for our offense to keep up.
