Thank You NFL General Managers For Overlooking Trey Palmer

August 26th, 2023

Rookie receiver Trey Palmer.

Big Play Trey Palmer lives up to his nickname.

In the first two worthless preseason games, Bucs rookie sixth-round draft pick receiver Trey Palmer made a big play in each one. That continued Saturday night in the Bucs’ third and final preseason game of 2023 with a big play to set up a Bucs touchdown in the first quarter.

With the game tied in the first quarter 7-7, Bucs backup quarterback Kyle Trask took over and marched the offense down the field. On second-and-two from the Baltimore-25, Trask threw the ball down the middle that appeared targeted to receiver Kaylon Geiger from Joe’s angle in the press box of The Licht House.

But no! Flying in from the left side was Palmer. He climbed the ladder, jumping over Crows linebacker Del’Shawn Phillips to haul in the Trask offering for a 19-yard catch.

The crowd roared in approval.

If that catch didn’t provide enough evidence — with his previous catches — that Palmer should be WR3, then Joe doesn’t know what’s going on.

Joe would like to thank all 31 NFL teams for passing on Palmer multiple times to allow Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht to grab him.

This guy looks like he’s going to be a handful.

  2. Proudbucsfan Says:

  4. RGA Says:

It looks like Jarrett is a player too!

  5. Mostly Peaceful Trask Fan Says:

    Jarrett is just a guy.

    Palmer is a stud.

  6. Fred McNeil Says:

Like some of you are saying, Jarrett looks great too. Palmer looks better. That return was amazing too. Much agonizing over the next few days for the coaching staff.
That first series of both offence and defence had me D. I. S. G. U S. T. E. D!!! I was not the only one
Then suddenly we came together as a team and made Todd Bowles an Alkaseltzer Addict trying to figure out who to keep…and who we can sneak into the practice squad
I saw enough good to make me forget the bad. I saw teamwork. Bring on the Vikequeens!!!

  8. Herbiebuc Says:

  9. Glass Half Full Guy Says:

That catch tonight, like many others from camp and the 1st two PS games….when the ball is in the air, he wants it and goes and gets it. It’s HIS ball. This kid is going to be fun to watch and will help out the QB on throws that are a little off the mark as well.

For one thing I’ve been a Buc’s fan since their inception I have the right to get fired up when I think somebody’s got potential. I have been through many years of misery with this team and lots of draft picks that did absolutely nothing, so keep your relax comments to yourself.

We also drafted Payne Durham over him

  12. Erik Hesson - Fine Artist and Founder of UniqueModernArt.com Says:

He looks like our 1st rd draft choice out there.

    Total stud.

    AB and then some…

  13. Buc50 Says:

Palmer and Miller are nothing alike. Palmer is everything people were hoping to see in Miller but never got.

  14. Wild Bill Says:

Palmer has it all!!! Speed, hands, smarts. What a draft steal.

  15. Lord Corn Says:

We finally hit on a late round WR let’s go

This draft class is looking pretty promising in general

  16. Bucamania Says:

STEAL! Palmer is legit. That speed is crazy and he’s got the hands and body control to match.

  17. Chidi Ahanotu Says:

He ran with JJ Joe burrow in Ja’Marr Chase at LSU, he knows what the NFL swagger is all about. Maybe going to Nebraska hurt him? Either way, opportunity has opened up. Beer hasn’t mean, or be it as it may, the injury to Russell gage, has opened a huge door. If the line gels, is the deadliest receiving corps perhaps in the league. The one zero, he gonna play.

The GM knows how to pick a WR. Evans, Godwin, Palmer. They can make any QB look good.
