Will Tonight Mark The Return Of Logan Ryan?

December 5th, 2022

Bucs DB Logan Ryan explains.

UPDATE: 4:30 p.m. – So will the return of defensive back Logan Ryan be tonight?

The last time Ryan played was in a loss to the Chiefs in early October. Ryan’s injured foot required surgery.

Last week, Ryan was placed in the 21-day window that allows him to be activated in that period. Whether he is activated today and plays tonight remains to be seen.

“My goal when I had this surgery was to be back on the practice field [last] week,” Ryan said. “And I have accomplished that.

“I’ve been busting my butt to give myself an opportunity.”

Ryan admitted to Joe last week that he’s taking it a step at a time. He wants to demonstrate to the Bucs he was ready to get back on the field.

“Now it is just to dominate practice and show my coaches and the medical people who care about me to make the best decision for me.”

But yeah, it would bother him if he was not deemed ready tonight.

“As a player, a competitor, of course, I want to be out there,” Ryan said.

Ryan added that he didn’t think he had any more rust to shake off.

Given how Antoine Winfield, Mike Edwards and Sean Murphy-Bunting are all questionable for this evening, Joe has a hunch if Ryan is near 100 percent he will at least be active.

UPDATE: Ryan has been activated for the game.

Seems like we never get healthy in the d-back room. Lose 2 get 1 back. Logan will be a big help if he can go.

why does he have a Roku remote stuck to his stomach?

I hope so. Ryan’s on-field leadership is missed.

Just hope Luke is still in a backup role now that he’s healthy again. Barring any injuries, he should only be on the field at the same time as Gabbert. Mop up duty in a blowout or if they get eliminated from the playoffs before season’s end just to get some reps.

Logan has made a difference in our secondary. I hope he plays – we need all hands on deck tonite!
