Wagering With Ira

October 22nd, 2022

Handicapper

Follow along as JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman makes three NFL picks each week against the spread.

Point spreads courtesy of Joe’s good friends at BetMGM. You may follow various point spreads courtesy of VegasInsider.com.

UNCLE IRA

Pittsburgh
at Miami -7.5

There is no quit in Mike Tomlin’s group.

Houston
at Las Vegas -7

Las Vegas is tired of losing close games. This one won’t be close.

Atlanta
at Cincinnati 6.5
In Year 2, Arthur Smith has established a physical identity for the Falcons.

JOE

Green Bay
at Washington -4.5

Washington’s defense is terrible. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers running backs will snap out of their slumps.

Seattle
at Los Angeles Chargers -5.5

The scrappy Seahawks will cover. Joe has absolutely no faith in Brandon Staley.

New York Giants
at Jacksonville -3

Trevor Lawrence puts up excellent numbers (this year) whenever he plays Indianapolis. Everyone else? Meh. New York’s defense is carrying the Giants.

Bob The Bookie (Joe’s old college buddy)

New York Giants
at Jacksonville -3

Jags are the best 2-4 team in football with a run defense that will stymie the Giants.

Cleveland
at Baltimore -6.5

Most of the NFL is at least a touchdown better than Cleveland.

New York Jets
at Denver -1

Can the Jets make it three consecutive blowout wins? Doubtful. But they’re more talented than Denver and better coached.

Last week’s record: Ira 2-1; Joe 1-2; Bob The Bookie 1-2.

2022 Season: Ira 8-10; Joe 4-14; Bob The Bookie; 11-7.

Bet against Ira and Joe and you’ll have a lot of Christmas money. Lol

  2. MadMax Says:

This is my first time this year

    Bucs -13.5
    Chiefs -1
    Jets -1
    Packs -4.5
    Pitt +9

    We’ll see how I do with (pretend) 10 on 5 for 225.

  3. TheBucsAnthem Says:

If the Bucs lose tomorrow…….then the season is over

Cause something is fundamentally wrong with this team…..and it shows on offense and defense.

It’s almost as if everyone knows Brady doesn’t care about this season and therefore NOBODY is caring to win……cause I see ZERO passion on the field on both sides of the ball.

  4. MadMax Says:

^ nah, I think we’ll win by 20+ as long as we pass….their D line is a beast to try to run through. I just have a feeling the message has got through. But ypu never know, any given sunday.

  5. steele Says:

BucsAnthem, Brady is one of the few who has shown passion, or he wouldn’t have ranted at the OL. He is properly pissed, after being patient with the in-hous youth experiment for weeks. The problem is that there is poor leadership beyond Brady the lone voice. It’s an art to get a team unified, disciplined and motivated, and Bowles isn’t that kind of guy. It’s also what happens when losing key veterans and thinking youngsters can immediately replace that.

  6. D Says:

I notice neither Joe nor Ira wants to give Daniel Jones credit for the Giant’s success. Perhaps to save face from their former insults… I’ll say it, he’s having an excellent year and carrying that offense without any receivers and a suspect oline.

  7. Joe Says:

I notice neither Joe nor Ira wants to give Daniel Jones credit for the Giant’s success.

Guess you forgot about Saquon Barkley. Let’s calm down a bit about Daniel Jones.

  8. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Touche about Barkley…….until he gets hurt again.

Barkley reminds me alot of Reggie Bush…..an amazing talent but was always hurt to make a consistent difference in an organization.

  9. D Says:

Barkley is having a great season but only a blind fool would say Jones isn’t having one himself.

  10. Joe Says:

Barkley is having a great season but only a blind fool would say Jones isn’t having one himself.

Joe isn’t blind and Joe knows Daniel Jones has five touchdown passes this season. Just the intel Joe has heard from folks he respects and others on SiriusXM NFL Radio and NFL Network, it is Barkley and the Giants defense which is carrying the mail.

You are the first person Joe has read or heard who thinks Daniel Jones is lighting it up.

  11. SB Says:

    @ Ira.
I would tend to agree with you on Pittsburgh. Not sure they will cover but Tua makes the whole equation unstable.
On Houston I disagree. Give me Houston Outright but I will take the points.
    Two words. Dameon Pierce.
I disagree again with Atlanta. Cincy will win but I will take the points.
Agree with the Green Bay pick. They can’t be as bad as they look.
    I am taking Chargers
I agree with Giants (Can’t believe I am saying that with a sober mind)

That all being said if the Bucs don’t win tomorrow I will stop sporting my Gear up here and may not watch another game this yr.
Carolina had the worst Offense in the league WITH CMC and Robbie Anederson.

  12. SB Says:

Guys……Russell Wilson was my starting QB.
Jones is my backup. Jones gets about 21 points a week at best.
Kid has potential but he hasn’t arrived yet.
