Wagering With Ira

Follow along as JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman makes three NFL picks each week against the spread.

Point spreads courtesy of Joe’s good friends at BetMGM. You may follow various point spreads courtesy of VegasInsider.com.

UNCLE IRA

Philadelphia -6.5
at Washington

Jalen Hurts is emerging as a very dangerous quarterback.

Las Vegas -2.5
at Tennessee

This is the week Derrick Henry returns to form.

San Francisco -1.5
at Denver

Not enough weapons for the Broncos against a very stingy San Francisco defense.

JOE

Baltimore -3
at New England

Bill Belicheat has been a home dog in 19 games in New England. He’s 15-4 in those games.

New Orleans -2.5
at Carolina

The slimy Saints, still bitter over last week’s loss to the Bucs, take out their frustrations on the Stinking Panthers. In an effort not to get blown out, embattled Carolina coach Matt Rhule agrees to tip pitches on offense so long as the slimy Saints agree not to beat his team by more than 14.

Dallas
at New York Giants -1

This is where Daniel Jones turns into a pumpkin. Micah Parsons triggers Giants fans when he walks onto the field for warmups wearing a Lawrence Taylor jersey.

Bob The Bookie (Joe’s old college buddy)

Buffalo -5.5
at Miami
Perhaps the best bet of the young NFL season. Miami’s good enough to win outright and Buffalo has too many injuries on defense.
.
New Orleans -2.5
at Carolina
.
The Saints are a Marcus Mariota fumble from being 0-2. Bob is rolling with the home dog and their good defense.
.

Detroit
at Minnesota -6

The Lions can score, score, score — and cover the spread.

Last week’s record: Ira 1-2; Joe 1-2; Bob the Bookie 1-2.

2022 Season Record: Ira 2-4; Joe 1-5; Bob The Bookie, 3-3.

    So far 2-3-1:

    This week:

Jags over the Chargers (I do not know but if the wise guys are enticing people to bet the Chargers with such a small line (-3 at my book Joe, -3.5 by y’alls), it is likely to break the other way).

New Orleans: they are better than Carolina with or without Jameis and the seat gets hot for the Carolina coach.

Dallas in a low scoring game over the G-Men. This might be a sucker bet but the Giants tend to gag in normal competitive games ala a Lovei Smith coached team of the mid 2010s…….
