Chris Godwin Should Reach Milestone

July 19th, 2022

Becoming a Bucs legend.

This just demonstrates what rotten passing offenses the Bucs had prior to 2015.

And it also demonstrates what excellent receivers Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht has drafted.

Mike Evans is the best receiver in Bucs history. He’s on the right track to Canton, too. And Chris Godwin has a chance to be the second-best receiver in Tampa Bay history. Who knows, maybe someday he’ll eclipse Evans?

Evans is the Bucs’ career leader in receiving yards (9,301) and Godwin could end up ranking second in team history by the end of the year.

Godwin currently has 4,643 yards receiving. That’s No. 4 among the Bucs’ all-time receiving yards leaders. He trails Mark Carrier (5,018) and Kevin House (4,928). So Godwin just needs 376 yards to move in to second place.

Barring something terribly unforeseen, Godwin should get this done by the bye week. If all goes well with his knee rehab, there is a chance Godwin pulls this off at home Week 4 against the Chiefs, or perhaps Week 5 against the Dixie Chicks.

As long as they do not rush him back. I want him healthy and to remain healthy. Pretty cool accomplishment though to think that the two best receivers the team history are playing at the same time

    What David just said.

  3. Rod Munch Says:

I seriously doubt Godwin is back before week 6 or so – but I hope I’m wrong and he’s ready to go early.

  4. FrontFour Says:

Why is Joe talking like Godwin never had the knee injury.

Godwin could rack up 376 yards playing in a wheelchair. Trask is going to have a fantastic start to his career with these weapons and behind this OL next season.

  6. Chris Says:

I’m surprised Galloway isn’t on this list.

How can you not root for s player like Chris Godwin…….like Mike, a solid citizen….great talent & high character

  8. Buczilla Says:

Godwin is a fantastic player and his only weakness is his penchant for getting injured. Off the top of my head, I’d say he’s our second best third round pick ever behind Barber.

  9. Michael Says:

Already the second best receiver in franchise history. Will be hard for him to ever surpass Mike but he could get close

  10. D-Rome Says:

I just did a search for greatest NFL WR tandem of all time and I think when it’s all said and done Evans and Godwin, assuming they finish their careers as Bucs, could arguably be in the top 3. At the very least top 5.

Should have gotten something, somewhere for Chris. And used that money for a RB.
