Russell Gage Gets An In-House Endorsement

April 12th, 2022

Yes, our beloved Buccaneers have a No. 3 receiver who earns $10 million per season.

Joe believes that’s a new NFL salary record, and Joe is loving every minute. Russell Gage is the wealthy newcomer after turning in four strong seasons in Atlanta. The former sixth-round pick is a blossoming star.

His former Falcons teammate, new Bucs safety Keanu Neal, was asked about Gage today at One Buc Palace. The review came quickly and with authority.

“Russ is versatile, he can play anywhere. He’s good enough to play outside and he’s smooth enough and agile enough to play inside in the slot,” Neal said. “He’s a very versatile player, great hands, great attitude, great dude. You guys are going to enjoy him, for sure.”

Just imagine if Chris Godwin has a strong recovery from ACL surgery and is on the field October 1, and is back to his old self by Nov. 1 — with 26-year-old Gage electrifying with his speed and Mike Evans being Mike Evans and Leonard Fournette doing Playoff Lenny things.

Is it time for kickoff yet?

Love how we took the falcons best receiver lol

  2. SB~LV Says:

Hopefully he doesn’t turn out like Bert Emmanuel who torched the Bucs as a Falcon and never played to that level as a Buc

  3. Ed Says:

Insurance policy for Godwin. He will be #2 until Chris is 100%

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Insurance policy for sure……we needed Gage or someone like him.

Anyway the Falcons will toss us their tight end?

  5. #8 Says:

I prefer Patterson. Go steal him too.

  6. Biff Barker Says:

Pitts is the player we thought OJ Howard was supposed to be.

There’s no Pitts in this class of TE’s but a few good ones are there.

Oh man. Joe we already had the best WR corps in the league n it just got better. Defenses are shaking in their cleats looking at our line up. Let’s goo. Can’t wait for the season to start

Pricey top 3 receivers…but what some of these other fellas got ( Hill, Diggs the new Jax scrub paid like an all pro )…having 3 is key…and what helped sink the Bucs last year when Godwin went down and BrownEye went berserk.

  12. Steven Medetsky Says:

Mmm. Let’s see. Who else.on the Bucs was a 6th round pick
and turned out alright for the Bucs. Hint: His initials are TB.

  13. Buczilla Says:

I love this pickup and I’ll be estatic if by the grace of the gods, Olave falls to us at 27. Godwin is awesome when healthy, but he’s hurt nearly every year and obviously coming off of a serious injury and one knows if he will be worth a damn this year.

Every single receiver behind Gage is shaky as hell and no better than 5th string. In my opinion we should be desperate for another receiver given Godwin’s fragility. Luckily Licht is damn good at finding receivers, so hopefully he finds one that can stay healthy within the first three rounds this year.

  14. Bucsfan4ever Says:

Buczilla, I think 99% of receivers miss a few games.

    I can’t not wait

you tube hilight reel is unbeleivable

  17. Nutterbuccer Says:

Any history of returning punts/kicks. I know we don’t want a guy making 10 million a year doing that all of the time but could be a much needed weapon in that department situational football.

  18. JJ right Says:

TOTALLY AGREE with #8, Cordelle Patterson is the MAN to put the BUCs over the
hump and into the next Super Bowl.
