March 30th, 2022

New Bucs coach Todd Bowles.

As one can imagine, it is a busy day and night at One Buc Palace.

We have now heard from Buccaneers co-chairman Joel Glazer and new Bucs head coach Todd Bowles with the stunning news that Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians stepped down today and Bowles has been promoted.

Glazer clearly gave out a warm thank you for all that Arians has done for the Bucs’ organization, which included a Super Bowl win, a second playoff appearance and making the team relevant again in NFL circles.

  1. Casual Observer Says:

A shocker. Maybe BA’s health and age are major factors. Hope it all works out.

  2. Bojim Says:

    Nice!

  3. sasquatch Says:

Just tell me who the DC is. That’s what I really want to know.

  4. LVMYBUCS Says:

Will Leftwitch be pissed off? Why didn’t he get the HC job?

  5. Joe Says:

    Will Leftwitch be pissed off?

Ha! He has full control of the offense now and look who his quarterback is.

  6. Vincente Says:

I’m excited. This is a great move, let’s TB I know you will only make this team so much better.

  7. T REX Says:

Not Arians health but it wasn’t brady….right?

    Arians pushed out no doubt.

  8. Craig Says:

I wish him better luck than he had with the Jets. That team seemed snake-bit from the start.

  9. ben Says:

Bowles blew the Rams game with his defense game plan so I hope he will be more aware and smarter in his new position . Good luck coach !!

  10. T REX Says:

    Todd is an awful choice.

Brady is de facto HC and GM

    Crazy

  11. BuxfaninTX Says:

Leftwich removed himself from the Jacksonville situation bc he would t work with Trent Balke, which most people disdain

  12. Yucs2Bucs Says:

Wow I thought Will Smiths slap was the worst, but this takes the cake and just watch Baker Mayfield will be coming to Tamps for Trask and a 5th rounder .. GO BUCS

  13. Adrnagy Says:

That achilles injury ended his career. Bowles fits nicely. Brady runs offense and bowles defense.

  14. gotbbucs Says:

To all the people belly aching about Bowles last defensive call in the Rams game. The score of that game was 20-3 at half time. Where was the offense in the first half?

One defensive play call didn’t lose that game.

  15. WVBuc Says:

Perhaps the schedule had something of an impact 9n Arians’ decision? A great year could easily be 11-6 with their slate of games. Bruce is a wise veteran and probably would prefer a season where there’s unrest week to week. Maybe the Buc’s laundry starched Bruce’s underoos?

  16. Yucs2Bucs Says:

“ That’s my QB “ as TO says and “ Keep my QB out of your effen mouth “ Will Smith, but seriously thank you Bruce for helping win the SB in your second year and becoming the winningest coach in franchise history !!! Bowles take care of the D and QB/OC TB take care of the offense !!! Go Bucs

  17. Yucs2Bucs Says:

Oh and Baker for Trask and a 5th should get it done !!! Baker welcome to Champs Bay

  18. Bird Says:

    Rodgers and foote co-defensive coordinators

    Uhmmmm. Ok

  19. HC Grover Says:

Hope Brady calls the plays. All the plays. Where be Gronkzilla?

  20. David Says:

I am shocked but glad BOWLES is staying around for a long time, keep some stability. Hopefully he just stays out of the offense and let’s BL and Brady do their thing.

  21. ElioT Says:

    @gotbucs

    You’re right

  22. Oddball Says:

    40 days and Bruce unretires?

  23. Mike10 Says:

This played out exactly how I had hoped it wouldn’t. So much of this guy reminds me of Lovie and I don’t think he has the stones to be a head coach. Excellent DC, who was right-place, right-time to get another coaching gig. Once Brady retires, and he’s under contract for another THREE to FOUR YEARS, it’s going to be the Jets all over again.

  24. Alanbucsfan Says:

Well at least now we don’t have to worry about him going on interviews during a playoff game week.

  25. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Craig Says
“I wish him better luck than he had with the Jets. That team seemed snake-bit from the start.”

The Jets are always bad, no matter who coaches them.

  26. MadMax Says:

TB12 my brothers….and Im not gonna lie, I was seeing some stuff with BA….I think this is a good thing….we’ll see

  27. Steven L. Benner Says:

Congratulations & best of Luck to Todd Bowles! Thank you Bruce Arians for all that you’ve done…..you will always be a part of this Organization. You’ve made your mark in History here- your fans will miss seeing you on the sidelines. Best of luck to you Sir.

  28. BucUToo Says:

Although I’m shocked it happened this late, I’m not shocked that it happened. I think BA has planned for Todd to take over for him eventually. Even during last season, BA was less involved in the coaching that previously. With Byron handling the vast majority of the play calling. So this shouldn’t really change much on the sideline. Congrats Todd, and we’ll miss your press conferences BA! LFG!

  29. G in MA Says:

Watched Bowles coach the jets for a few years…HOPE HE HAS IMPROVED !!!
