Tom Brady: I Certainly Hope Gronk Plays In 2022

February 14th, 2022

The final Tom Brady radio show of the season popped tonight and, of course, Joe was listening on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio.

Brady again was vague about his retirement from the NFL. He never used the word “retire” and he talked about living life one day at a time happy with his decisions and enjoying people in his life while never knowing what the future will bring.

Mr. Seven Rings also dodged a question asking him to comment about how he’ll soon be seen training and people will speculate about his future. Brady said he might eat more key lime pie but he didn’t offer details of how he may — or would — alter his training to a post-football life.

Brady said he was out of the country for a while recently and missed a lot of the Super Bowl hype, but he said he watched the game yesterday and enjoyed it.

Asked about the NFL future of Buccaneers free-agent-to-be tight end Rob Gronkowski, multiple times Brady said he hopes Gronk will continue his career because he’s “unstoppable” when he’s committed to the game and healthy. Brady did not mention the Bucs when he talked about Gronk.

In a chat about the Bengals head coach making decisions that might have cost his team a Super Bowl win, Brady quickly emphasized that football is always a team game and those kinds of assertions are unfair and inaccurate.

He named six pass catchers that made him look great on the field, a nod to the team nature of the NFL. Those players Brady named? Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and Julian Edelman.

    No A.B.🤦‍♂️

  3. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

One can only wonder if Gronk stays here, w/o Brady ?

  4. WalkdaPlank Says:

Lol why would he put AB on there he was not a huge contributor to the Super Bowl last season and quit on the team mid-game this season.

  5. PassingThru Says:

Damn, no mention of Aaron Hernandez either. You would have thought he killed someone or something.

  6. Marine Buc Says:

I would love to have Gronk back for another season. He is still a very effective weapon. If it wasn’t for getting his ribs and lung cracked against the Rams he would of had another great year.

The only issue is his price and his willingness to catch passes from a QB not named Tom Brady…

  7. Marine Buc Says:

    @ PT

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!

    Made me laugh.

    Thanks.

  10. HC Grover Says:

    Too cute by half.

  11. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Gronk may play another year just so he doesn’t look like a total Brady-butt-boy…

  12. cmurda Says:

    @PT. Well done sir!

Brady missed a couple of important names on his list, Deion branch being the most obvious. Belichick once forbade Brady to throw to branch in practice, as the defense couldn’t get any work done. Branch was almost single handedly the reason for one of those Superbowls. Another glaring omission is James white. If y’all think Lenny caught a lotta passes. White was instrumental in the comeback superbowl over the falcons, catching 13 balls. Ben finds it somewhat comical that he lists two bucs, that he only played with for two seasons. He can jab the Patriots all he wants, but to omit two players who you wouldn’t have won Superbowls without is cheap. Randy freaking moss? The guy that quit on his team and sucked in the superbowl because he wouldn’t go over the middle, please Tom.

  14. Listnfrmafar Says:

Wow, no Danny Amendola and James White.

  15. Listnfrmafar Says:

One more Troy Brown comes to mind.

  16. JimbobBucsFan Says:

Apparently, many many Brady fans think he is just blowing hot air when he talks about football being a team game. He has said that many many times I’m sure. I know I heard him say stuff along those line several times in the past two years.

  17. Buc4evr Says:

After the Rams SB win there was violence and destruction in downtown LA, the good news is that no one can tell the difference..

  18. steele Says:

James White probably didn’t figure because he’s a RB. (And a FA. Hint hint.)

Deion Branch, Troy Brown, David Givens, David Patten were omissions, but I don’t think Brady was serious enough to sit down and make a list.

  19. DoooshLaRue Says:

Gronk may play but I don’t think it’s with us.

  20. ModHairKen Says:

Gronkowski is only playing for Brady’s team. One thing is for certain: the Bucs have Brady’s rights and they will not let him go without a fight, if he’s returning.

My wife said no new dog. I agreed. I said you’re right. Then, I showed her b puppy pictures. Now I have a new puppy. Find your puppy pics, TB.

  21. Swampbuc Says:

Bqen – Brady was asked the question. Not you. Please ease off on the pretense that you know Brady better than Tom knows himself.

  22. Swampbuc Says:

Jason – make sure Godwin remains a Buc, then tell Tom, “We have Mike and Chris. if you play, Gronk will play, and we’ll all take turns beating the sh!t out of Todd’s Bowels so he doesn’t ruin your incredible work again.”

  23. Rod Munch Says:

Wait, he didn’t mention Cyril Grayson? But the people in the comments here told me AB wouldn’t be missed at all, Grayson was just as good…

  24. adam from ny Says:

    no AB…

by the way AB unfollowed tom on instagram…

yet tom, classy as ever, let AB hang in the abyss on his gram page

  25. Scooter Says:

Don’t poke fun of the dead.

  26. adam from ny Says:

the wildest thing about this past season is:

if things literally feel into place “dream season style”, the bucs could have had 4 guys with 1,000 yards receiving…

    evans
    godwin
    gronk…had like 800 in a shade over half a season’s work
AB…barely even played and still stacked some yardage

  27. Michael Golden Says:

Would like to see Brady and Gronk both go to the 49ers. Definitely could win a Super Bowl there with them on the team!!

  28. adam from ny Says:

tom should not be retiring with an offense like that…

    it’s offensive

ps and didn’t lenny stack like almost 500 receiving yards too……wowzers

like i said, it’s offensive to retire now…very offensive

  29. steele Says:

Tom forgot to mention Reche Caldwell.

  30. LakelandSteve Says:

He didn’t mention A.B.? I guess the love affair is over

  31. Oneilbuc Says:

Forget Brady let him walk !!!
