“False!!”

January 31st, 2022

“I took care of it, Dad.”

So Joe brought word over the weekend about what one respected NFL reporter thinks will be an “exodus” with the Bucs coaching staff in the wake of Tom Brady retiring.

Provided he retires.

Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, who Joe knows personally, had a source connected to the Bucs claim that Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians told his coaching staff to go for it when it comes to receiving better job offers.

Now on face value, that seems like a good gesture by Arians, hoping his coaches can better themselves in their career goals. But from what Arians has said the past couple of years, these words sounded ominous.

Arians has always said that aside from declining health, having to coach up too many new assistants would drive him back into retirement. He doesn’t want to coach up coaches. In fact, Arians said a reason he came to the Bucs was the rare opportunity to “get the band back together” from his Cardinals days.

This news spooked Joe that Arians allegedly told his staff if they had a shot, to go get a promotion. If true, and provided Tom Brady retires, Joe can see a house of cards falling with Arians back at his Georgia lakefront house for good and playing golf daily with his neighbor and good friend Ben Roethlisberger.

Well, someone who should know what Arians’ plans are decided to take to Twitter yesterday and loudly (as loudly as one can be on social media) shot down this report. That would be Arians’ son Jake Arians.

And the younger Arians kept his reaction to one word and he only needed one word.

Does this mean Arians returns no matter who leaves the Bucs in the next few weeks? Well, Jake Arians didn’t say that. But apparently he did say his father never said to his assistants to go get a promotion or a new coaching job.

    I’m BA we trust ??

  2. FortMyersDave Says:

ParrishBucsFan: In Aaron Wilson we do not? Or do we call BA’s son a liar? Joe is a friend of Aaron so does that make him a bona-fide reliable source? Or do we go with the son of BA, much like TB12 old man over the weekend? I want TB12 back but Christ the Bucs better get their ducks in a row. Transparency is impossible when TB12. Arians, his coaching staff, the FA players, and Licht/One Buc Place are not on the same page….

Solution to this mess: Figure it out before New Orleans does and you are the fave to win the division. ATL and Carolina are 4-13 material…. Simple enough!

  3. Listnfrmafar Says:

He’s probably a liar like his old man.

  4. Listnfrmafar Says:

Hey August, Belichick’s rookie QB that made the playoffs (before Brady who knows when Bucs were in the playoffs) , he also is now a Pro-Bowler. That’s how you develop a QB. Who did BA develop again?

  5. Mickman Says:

Pats QB made probowl based on everyone else declined or were in the playoffs. They went so low that Mayfield was next if he declined. Once you get by top 5 AFC QBs they have no one. Don’t read more into it then that.

  6. SB~LV Says:

Maybe Bradys decision hinges on not having a new OC other other disruption is the sideline staff.
Also while watching the Championship games yesterday it occurred to me perhaps Brady did not like some of the roster FA misses 2021 . Even if Brady stays there are relative to the 4 teams yesterday skill positions that don’t measure up.
So Bradys decision will be based on the game plan for FA signings and draft strategy.

  7. adam from ny Says:

    @FortMyersDave:

atlanta and carolina are double digit loss material…but i don’t know about them both being 4 win teams…

yeah one team in the division can possibly pull up the back end with a dozen losses…

every team in our division gets almost the same crazy schedule, so it’s tough sledding for the entire nfc south this year…

even with brady we will not win more than 12 games…

12-5 easily wins the division this year…

in fact 11-6 should do it imho…

saints should float around .500 this year…9-8 or 8-9…

come to think of it, we could win the division at 10-7 without brady…the win totals could be rather low across the board for the nfc south…

with tommy in the fold, i have us at worst at 11-6…at best 12-5…simply due to a rough schedule…

yeah i know speculating this now is all way too early, but i’m just tossing around the idea…

dam if things didn’t go haywire for us towards the end of the year and if we avoided some key injuries, we really could have repeated…tommy should be able to see that after how things played out yesterday…

we can win the division next year, easily with tom…and if we go into the playoffs hot and fairly healthy, we have as good a shot as anyone to get tom ring number 8…

Watching the game last night, all I could think about was how much better the Bucs were then the teams playing. Really too bad, Bucs should have had a home game and going to a second straight Super Bowl. Looks like the Bengals should win their first Super Bowl in a couple of weeks.

  9. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Am I correct that assistant coaches need the permission of the GM to do interviews….not the HC…..I believe they are under contracts.

Oh, I don’t know, some obscure players named Manning, Rothlinsberger, and Luck!

Why don’t you F off back to Boston?

  11. allbuccedup Says:

Lefty and Bowles will be here next year all the owners know Brady was the real coach. The others were just along for the ride.

  12. Rayjay1122 Says:

He is probably a liar? LOL, show me a human who is not. I will wait.

  13. mark2001 Says:

Please don’t sound like a Listnfr Lovie Lover fan. We never have known how to treat an at least average or better coach in Tampa Bay. Or in most places. But most fans are that way. They are probably trying to run Andy out of KC after two disappointing years in a row. I think some people mistake HC’s as some superman, or the dad they never had. But they aren’t.

  14. David Says:

With everything being reported over the past week, here is what we know for a fact:
-Tom Brady has not said anything yet.
-Bruce Arians said he will return next year.
-BL is still the OC as the Jaguars are interviewing more people still.
    -Bowles is still the DC.

This is why the majority of Americans do not trust the media. Factual reporting is few and far between. Most the time it’s nothing but a gossip rag.

  15. mark2001 Says:

David.. what I find so bogus about all the Bowles/ Lefty hype is that fans forget that owners are supposed to/ responsible to interview minority candidates. How much of all that process is actual interest and how much is meeting a responsibility is unclear. Until there is a hire, I believe none of the rumors.

  16. Danbucsfan Says:

We need to start a movement or online petition. ONE MORE YEAR TB12

  17. Listnfrmafar Says:

Why do you think BL & Bowles can get HC jobs? Because the suck! Mickman, who declined? Not Herbert, Carr, Rothsberger, Tannahill, Tua need I go on? Burrows, Wilson, Wentz etc? Players decline every year.

  18. David Says:

BL has been the OC for 2 years and, along with input from Brady and BA, oversaw the most prolific offense in Buccaneers history and one of the top 3 offenses in the entire NFL over those 2 years.

Bowles is a great DC. Won a Super Bowl with a dominating defense. Out of all the NFC teams in the playoffs they gave up the fewest points. This was done with a makeshift secondary in a passing league every single week. It was done with one of your top pass rushers essentially playing with one arm all year and the other dealing with a knee injury.

Yet some of the psuedo-fans on here want to claim they suck. The ignorance is astounding.

That said, I don’t think Bowles is a head coach. He should stay at DC.
I don’t think BL is ready to be a head coach, needs a little more experience.
I hope they both stay, it will go along way to maintaining the roster

  19. Barbara Roopenian Says:

Brady is leaving because BA is a tyrant. Hitting players on the field. Also I believe AB.

  20. jvato24 Says:

He doesn’t have that say, Jason Licht controls the contracts, even If BA walked, I just can’t imagine Licht saying okay, everyone can leave, we’ll just start fresh 3 weeks into the coach hiring cycle, Goodwin would be the best HC imo

  21. Eric b Says:

Yeah we def are the better team after watching last night and stafford got extremely lucky with that dropped INT, a horrible ball. And after he said its cool to snatch someones soul, all the while brady snatched his with a 24 point come back drive 4qrt!!!!!! I hope burrow slays his ass he is a better qb, but brady is always the GOAT

  22. Listnfrmafar Says:

Mark, just because you are on a coaching staff doesn’t mean you are accountable for the QB success. Manning , Rothsberger. I will give you this BA may of been the reason Luck retired. 3’s a charm, bring on Rogers.

  23. #1bucsfan Says:

All this talk about Brady retiring is retarted and y’all playing into it. Did Brady himself come out n call it quits NO HE DIDNT UNTILL HE DOES HEA A BUC. we didn’t play our best game against the rams but one thing for sure is look at that comeback in the 4th qtr of the rams game that’s encouraging. If we play our best football there’s not a team that can keep up with us. TB12 ain’t leaving on that last game. He’s going to work on getting his team to play consistent. JOE Brady is coming back n next year we going back to the SB.

  24. sasquatch Says:

There’s no “if” about Brady retiring. It’s only a matter of when and how.

He’s allegedly due to receive $15 million deferred salary on Feb 4. If he retires before then, he doesn’t get it. Who’s going to be surprised if he makes an official announcement on Feb 5?

  25. LakelandSteve Says:

Listnfrmafar, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. To call Arians and his son liars is going too far. I bet you wouldn’t do it to either of their faces, but because you can be somewhat anonymous on here you can make yourself feel better by saying something nasty. So go back to whatever hole you crawled out of and continue to live your pathetic insignificant life you worm.

Hey List it is those pesky little FACTS LOL that you so often conveniently forget, for your self serving garble that you type. LOLOLOL
Manning and Rothlisberger are HOF buddy.
And Luck had a great start to his career.

Those pesky little FACTS keep tripping you up List.
But Oh well, you just want to spew negative crap.

The fact you have to live with yourself as negative as you are, is a worse than anything you have said about anyone.

Enjoy another day List in the frozen lands of Mass.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  27. Bqen green Says:

Figures him and that perverted donkey Roethlisberger are buds. Brady is retiring y’all. He got pissed that one of superior G’s family leaked the news. The guy does deserve to make the announcement. The best thing for the bucs is to move on from Arians, and the entire staff. Bring in some new blood. If he doesn’t want to coach coaches, then it’s like letting the lunatics run the asylum. If any coach needed some coaching this year it was Todd bowles. For y’all that are still defending him, Ben feels sorry for you. Y’all must’ve been watching a different team. What’s the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing and expecting different results. Continuing to blitz a QB who is destroying you against the blitz, is about as insane as it gets

  28. mark2001 Says:

Oh, Listnf… I get it. NFL coaches don’t develop talent. The latent talent just springs forth from players, and coaches are along for the ride. Makes you wonder why we even need them. LOL.

  29. August 1976 Buc Says:

Bqen green, Arians is a proven winner, so say what you like, but he has a winning record, that is better than most. Is he perfect, not a chance, and BA would tell you that.

So again type whatever you want, but BA is a proven winner. And you or anyone else can yell and scream or p*ss and moan whatever, it does not change the facts.

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  30. SlyPirate Says:

It’s gonna be a crazy offseason.

    Let the Licht Show begin!

  31. Snook Says:

Use some logic people. Why would Licht let a bunch of assistants just leave at this point in the off-season? Use your brain.

  32. Bruce Blahak Says:

Make The Bucs Great Again…Save The Licht House.

  33. August 1976 Buc Says:

Bruce do you really think either side is actually pure, Democrat or Replublican?

Each side seems to highlight something they want, at the expense of other things that are not good about their side.

But neither side is actually pure and completely honest.

So why blast someone for something.

Again someone can slam someone for xyz, but the other side can do the same thing.

    What is the point?

  34. David Says:

Bruce Arians and Todd Bowles and BL have done a phenomenal job in the last two years. People like to find an occasional mistake or player not executing and immediately say “let’s trash the coaches!”
It’s your mindset from living in the bottom of the swamp in the NFL for decades. The best thing that can happen is the coaching staff to stay put.
    Stability!!!!
Changing coaches every three years is nothing but a recipe for failure – case in point- look at the Buccaneers ever since Gruden left.

BA is staying. Hopefully Bowles realizes he’s a DC not a HC and stays, and hopefully BL doesn’t get offered anything because he still needs 1-2 more years before he’s ready to be a head coach.

  35. Listnfrmafar Says:

Mark & August, I guess we’ll see how BA does without Brady, I guess we’ll get to see next season which team makes the playoffs, if BA has the seeds to stick it out with out his binky Brady.

Lakeland, so you’re saying BA doesn’t often contradic himself? He constantly changes his narrative to suit his agenda. He’s about to prove it to you once Brady retires and he follows suit after he’s already committed.

  36. August 1976 Buc Says:

Bruce has a winning record with the 3 teams he has been head coach, and he will continue to win.

    GO BUCS!!!!

  37. JimbobBucsFan Says:

BA has said publicly that he is coming back. Of course you are entitled to believe his is a liar. He is just blowing hot air.

  38. Mary Anne Kearney Says:

Only a statement from Tom Brady is worth reading.
He will know when it is the right time to retire. He has said it before and false news is not worth reading.

  39. LambofGod Says:

You know what is going through my mind, and I ask myself if anyone else has thought about it… Wouldn’t it be a great move if Tampa could somehow get hold of Justin Herbert? Even if TB12 stays for another year, it would be fantastic for Herbert to learn directly from the best… And I personally think Herbert is destined to become one of the greats, both professionally and personally, on and off the field… Now That would be a Franchise QB for Tampa following Brady!
