Sam Tecklenburg … Meet Vita Vea

December 24th, 2021

Over the past two games, the top-shelf interior of the Bucs’ defensive line hasn’t been its usual powerful self.

Pro Bowl second-alternate Vita Vea and Ndamukong Suh have combined for just three tackles and three assists over the past two games. They also mustered one quarterback hit.

Enter the Panthers and their troubled offensive line. It was announced today that if starting guard Pat Elflein stays on the dreaded COVID list, then the Panthers starting center will be undrafted second-year man Sam Tecklenburg.

Carolina already is down it’s opening day starter at center, Matt Paradis. Tecklenburg has played in just one career NFL game at offensive line — in early November as a reserve against New England.

Suh and Vea should be able to capitalize on this Tecklenburg, essentially eat him alive. You can’t “hide” a center in ways a team can sometimes hide a guard. Joe also hopes defensive coordinator Todd Bowles runs his share of A-gap blitzes to see if Carolina can adjust.

A Carolina offensive line battered this season by injuries and COVID should be a massive advantage for the Bucs, especially with a third-rate quarterback lining up behind them, whether it’s Cam Newton or Sam Darnold.

Joe’s expecting big things from the Bucs’ big defensive manbeasts up the gut.

This Covid list is a joke, no teams playoff hopes should be derailed by a “virus” with a 99.5% survival rate

The defense is going to need to score two touchdowns. Then maybe Boron’s offense can squeeze out a 17-16 win.

  3. Joe in Michigan Says:

Swampbuc: “The Bucs have only scored 3 points in the last 6 quarters”
Me: “Perriman scored a TD in OT”
Swampbuc: “Uh, yeah, that doesn’t count”

Hahahaha, I didn’t think her posts could get any worse than the “Bucs are going 6-11” garbage, but she proved me wrong.

Swamparse, what was your narrative when offense was scoring 30 points a game and the D let opposition back in the game? Bills were losing 24-3 and could keep the lead, the same happened in Dallas, Philly, Indy, Saints first game, gave up 34 to Rams not to mention WFT. You’re an idiot.

Didn’t the Saints have this same problem? How did our front line do against them?

  9. Mike Says:

Yeah, it’s no picnic going up against Suh or Vea. That kid is gonna need some Advil after the game, because he is going to get beat down.
