Cameron Brate Has A Back Injury

February 4th, 2021

Is Archie to blame?

Now here’s an ugly surprise.

Hopefully, this had nothing to do with Cameron Brate caring for his renowned fluffy dog Archie.

Brate appeared on the Buccaneers injury report today with a back ailment that limited him in practice. Brate was not limited yesterday and it’s unclear when he got hurt.

Brate has said in multiple interviews that he’s healthier than ever, and Bucs fans watched him come on strong late during the Bucs’ current seven-game winning streak. So what happened and when?

Joe listens to all the silliness on the Buccaneers Radio Network, and Brate has told stories there of his daily care of Archie. Heck, Brate even brought the dog to training camp in a pandemic without a mask. (See WFLA-TV photo above.)

Brate has said Archie loves to find giant sticks, nearly lumber size, and Brate is always picking them up and sometimes re-planting them on his South Tampa walking path with Archie, so the dog will find them and carry/drag them home again.

Joe’s going to be really pissed at Archie if his stick fetish is at the root of Brate’s injury.

Is he out for the game or is it a game time decision?

  2. SlyPirate Says:

Carrying around that big brain finally caught up to him.

Brate has been key to each playoff victory. I hope he’s okay.

  3. Capt.Tim Says:

    Damn it.
They should lock those guys in isolation tanks this entire week.
Just let them float around til game time!!
We really dont wanna lose Brate. He is very important.
Its the SuperBowl, EVERYBODY is important!!

If that lil dog can pick up a stick- thats too heavy for Brate,
Then we should start the dog at TE!!

  4. AlV Says:

I’m happy Brate practiced. I have no doubt he will play.

  5. Mike pizzoli Says:

At least AB was upgraded to full participant but I really hope Brate can play

  6. gp Says:

Perhaps he tried to chase him down a hallway after getting out of the shower?
Seems to be the “new” thing.
    All speculation.
Hopefully it’s just more smoke and mirror/liars poker kind of stuff and he’s ready to play Sunday.

  7. Wesley Says:

FFS enough with the injury reports.

Barre is a tough bada$$…he’s played through back issues before he had his surgery a few years back. He’ll be fine and still is usual self!!

Nothing a few massages and cortisone can’t handle. A shot of novocain wouldn’t hurt.

  13. AMI_Chris Says:

Shoot the back up! We only need three hours on Sunday.

  14. Anonymous Says:

He was “limited”….ok. So they give him a shot an hour or two before game time and he will be fine. I look for Brate to catch at least 4 TB12 passes and score 1 TD!

    GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!

  15. Mitch Says:

He played through an entire losing season with a serious hip injury. I think he will make it through the biggest game of his career.

  16. Kentucky Buc Says:

I’m sure Brady’s got Guerrero on the case. They’ll have him ready to go.

  17. adam from ny Says:

    stay safe fellas…

    bone after the game…

stay hungry and horned up beforehand

  19. bojim Says:

Kinda easy to throw the back out. Think he’ll be fine.

  20. unbelievable Says:

Hopefully it’s nothing, but damn, this team seemed so much healthier 2 weeks ago than they do now.

  21. lambchop Says:

What in the world. How do you connect the dots to think the injury is related to caring for a dog. It seems more realistic he tweaked it in practice.

  22. View from 132 Says:

    Where is OJ Howard?

Also, need a goal line TE… Vita Vea. Watch.
