Rodgers Hates The Den Of Depression

October 15th, 2020

Aspiring landscaper.

Man, you think with the women that future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been in the company of, the dude would be sort of content with life.

But if you listen to interviews and read his quotes, damn if he doesn’t come off a whiner sometimes (his appearance on Pat McAfee’s Show last week was a whinefest). As Joe has pointed out, Rodgers is 1-2 in games he started at the Den of Depression. And generally, Rodgers seems to struggle in warm-weather sites, or at least not always play to his lofty standards.

Yesterday, Rodgers was discussing how he hates the turf of the Den of Depression and is not looking forward to stepping on it come Sunday, as Rodgers is reported as saying in a notebook column on PackersNews.com.

Aaron Rodgers has made no secret in the past his disdain for the surface he’ll play on Sunday when the Packers travel to the Bucs.

In three previous games at Raymond James Stadium, Rodgers has been injured twice. It was a shoulder injury in 2008, his first season as a starter. In 2014, Rodgers strained his calf muscle at Tampa Bay late in the season, an injury that infamously followed him through the playoffs.

“I’ve had a couple rough ones down there,” Rodgers said, “but it kind of is what it is. They’ve had a lot of play over the years on that surface. I’m not sure what the surface looks like, haven’t played there since ’14, but hope to try and buck that trend in 2020 and hoping that that’s the reality.”

Joe isn’t sure how you can pin an injured shoulder on the turf unless he got slammed to the turf and he thought the surface was hard. (Rodgers broke a collarbone by being slammed to the turf of U.S. Bank Field in Minneapolis and Joe isn’t aware of Rodgers kvetching about that turf.)

His strained calf? Joe guesses that could be because of the turf. The Packers blew the Bucs out in that game, with Rodgers completing 76 percent of his passes, so how much could the turf have been an issue?

Back in the days of having the Bulls tear it up before Sunday games. The pandemic has sorted that out.

Maybe we could bring back the Clydesdales from Busch Gardens to tear up the field and take a big dump on his sideline as a welcoming present.

    in BA I Trust!

We will see real quick where this defense is and the secondary in particular. Time to strap it on boys. Hopefully it is Rodgers personal Den of Depression for another game. Not hoping for injury, but just a good old fashioned beat down, like San Fran did to them last year twice. GO BUCS!!!!

  3. Mike Says:

Let’s hope the Bucs give him some nightmares and send him back to Green Bay with a loss.

It will be warm Sunday so there’s that. I think it clearly comes down to how our defense plays against their offense. Their defense is nothing special. We should be able to score.

Man I hate the feeling I have that Rogers is going to light up our secondary like a Xmas tree. I hope I am dead wrong and our dline is in is face all game and he throws to picks let’s go Bucs

Remember for every hot chick there is a dude tired of her crap…. While being nice to look at I’m sure Rodger had his share of entitled princesses lol

I thought everybody around the league talks about how GREAT the turf is at our stadium. You can’t please all the people all of the time I guess…

  9. Goforthwface30 Says:

The surface. Whatever. Thank god the Bucs play on real grass. Field turf is aesthetically hideous, a complete eyesore on tv, especially Notre Dames – it looks like they’re playing on wet carpet. At least the Bucs aren’t too cheap to pay for proper turf maintenance. Give me real grass all damn day

    BINGO!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  11. Mike Johnson Says:

Don’t buy into the hype Buc fans. Our Bucs will have to play lights out against the pack. Especially on defense. Rodgers is an accurate gunslinger.

  12. Iamabuc Says:

Rodgers already looking for excuses to justify the beat down they’re gonna get…..🤣🤣🤣🤣

  13. Darin Says:

Man the turf at the ole sombrero was perfect. Haven’t been on ray jays but its gota be better than 75% of the league. I think its the heat that gets him. He lucked out a bit with 425 start but not enough. Time to sweat crybaby!

  14. Roy T. Buford Says:

Let’s hope it hates is even more about 7:25pm, Sunday.

  15. Bob in Valrico Says:

the turf may have been bad luck for Rogers. But I am pretty sure its no picnic to hit the turf in Green Bay in the colder months either.

  16. #1bucfan Says:

I hope y’all right about us laying the smack down on the packers. Let’s go Bucs

Soldier Field turf once it gets past Thanksgiving in Chicago is annually a disgrace.

  18. Old Sombrero Says:

Agree the Bulls playing on the field isn’t ideal. Still a good surface but would be much better if it wasn’t chewed up on Saturday.

  19. JimmyJack Says:

Joe thanks for these great tidbits!! Roughing up Rodgers with some good hits is exactly how we can win this game. Awesome to see that its not just a hope….its a trend!!

Buckle up Bucs fans…..I smell our team emerging as a contender this Sunday. I can feel it in the air…..Sunday will be a battle between 2 Top teams in the NFL. No freaking way Green Bays getting outtta here easy. Not a chance it happens like that.

Yall sweating the loss in Chicago too hard. I hated losing but that game didnt get to me too bad. It didnt get to me because we played a poor game. We havent played that clean game and emerged as conteders yet. Once we do it will change everything……I am being patient and waiting for this team to have their breakout game. Once they do it changes the complexion of the rest of season and every game.

But there really cant be any raised expectations until we emerge as contenders……..We are back home from Chicago and should be feeling good. Back home, looking to stay undefeated, a perfectt proove it game opportunity vs GB……We know….. we win this game we are on the fast track to the playoffs!!

I feel it in the air, the Bucs are fittin to Break Out in a big way in 2 days. You dont get playoff atmospheres too often in October and looks like we are getting one on Sunday.

    Cant wait WOOOOO GO BUCS!!!!!

I wonder how all those hot chicks put up with his whining
Takes a pretty dedicated gold digger to put up with that!

  22. Rod Munch Says:

Rodgers is a p-word that complained about the grass being too hard here.

All will be forgiven if he comes here after leaving GB, but for now he’s a piece of trash whiny punk and I hope the Bucs turn him into a human pretzel on Sunday.

  23. EA Says:

I’d like nothing more than the bucs (defenders) to beat the snot out of Rodgers.
