Lavonte David Wins NFC Defensive Player Of The Month

October 1st, 2020

The longest-tenured Buccaneer is off to a great start in his quest for greater national respect.

Congratulations, Lavonte David, the playmaker of the Bucs’ interior linebackers.

While Devin White is racking up tackles in the run game, David is doing it all and making game-changing plays. And people have noticed. David was named NFC Defensive Player Of The Month today.

Per the official Bucs news release, David racked up 24 tackles (two for loss), two passes defensed, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. David is the only NFL player with at least 20 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble.

Keep in rollin’, Lavonte!

Lavonte has mastered punching the ball out. I anticipate it whenever he is near a ball carrier.

  2. D-Rome Says:

Wow, fantastic recognition! Congratulations to Lavonte! He’s been amazing this season but I didn’t think anyone else outside of Tampa was paying attention.

  3. Mike Says:

The Bucs defense is turning heads, and LD is leading the way!

Get it LVD!!! He’s still going to be playing like this in ten years. 30 year hump? LMFAO.

Got to keep Lavonte for his whole career. Some postseason success and perhaps LVD can be a HoF candidate.

Only make sense that our D gets recognized and honored.

I mean when you consider that your QB isn’t sucking so much that he is providing the other team with Stats that overshadow your own teams stats, this is what happens.

I mean in only 3 games our new QB has proven to be the BEST QB in Franchise History. Does it get any better Bucs Fans.

Finally we don’t have a QB who is a mental midget sucking his way to being the best to ever suck. Then bragging about how he sucked better then everyone. Go Finger, when you check his sheet. He was the absolute best sucker ever!!!

We are so blessed to have a Winner at QB now. One that inspires greatness and lets his team rake in all the Glory they deserve!

LVD is the most underrated player in the league. He’s bin playing great for so many years. Just sucks he’s bin on a bad team his whole career. Come on Bucs let’s change this year and bring LVD to the playoffs. He deserves it.

After all the years of trying it was great to see Steve Stamkos get just healthy enough to play a few minutes of the final..score a goal…and FINALLY celebrate a Stanley Cup.

Now how cool would it be to watch LVD finally get to celebrate in the post season?
    Like Stammer…LVD deserves it!

As of this morning…this current minute..guess what is possible ONLY here in Tampa Bay…we have the Stanley Cup…the Rays are doing well in the post season…what if they win it all and then the Bucs complete the trifecta with a SB?

Still a long shot but not as long as normal for Tampa…three teams…one a champion…another on the way and a third looking promising.

    Hell yeah!

    Congrats LD54!

St.Pete – I’ve been talking about the Triple Crown for two months. The Lightning were not going to be denied. I fully expect the Rays to at least make it to the World Series and if the Bucs continue to improve all season, stay away from the injury bug and Covid, they will have a legitimate shot as well.

LVD finally getting the kudos he has long deserved. Now, how about getting in the playoffs Bucs? LVD deserves that much!

  14. Buczilla Says:

I must have woken up in an alternate reality. The one that I’m from has consistently disrespected David and his skills, putting lesser players like Bobby Wagner and Anthony Barr (geez, seriously?!?) ahead of him.

David should have been collecting these these things throughout his career, but better late than never I guess. Congrats dude.

  15. Jack Says:

Deserving honor. He has always played at an elite level. Glad to see him (and the Bowles defense) get the recognition.
