“It Doesn’t Matter How Much Talent You Have If You Throw Interceptions Returned For A Touchdown”

September 13th, 2020

“Joel, if he throws 30, I’m calling a witch doctor.”

Tom Brady is not happy.

Various times in various ways with Joe and reporters after today’s loss in New Orleans via Zoom, Brady talked about how the Bucs’ execution was poor and he made too many mistakes.

His two interceptions? Brady says they were on him, especially the pick-6.

“It doesn’t matter how much talent you have if you throw interceptions returned for a touchdown,” Brady said, signing a song Bucs fans know too well.

Brady said every team isn’t what it wants to be on Week 1 and what comes next “is about to be about our mental toughness, our urgency.”

So now it’s time for Brady to earn his money and his reputation. Can he right the pirate ship in a hurry against a Carolina team that just scored 30 points in the debut of its head coach and quarterback?

Whatever happened today happened.

Now go fix it in a hurry and move on.

    It’s over. Move on.

  4. Go Bucs 72 Says:

Can someone let Donovan Smith know the season started please.

  5. Rayjay1122 Says:

We will start 0-4 before they start to look like a Pro football team me thinks.

  6. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Sorry…………

But this team looked like a poorly coached team tonight with a bad game plan.

  7. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Yeah
Donovan Smith is just the worst

  8. Rod Munch Says:

We played probably the 2nd best team in football, on the road, with a new QB and if the special teams aren’t complete trash then it’s a one possession game at the end.

What I expect is that next week the Bucs win in a laugher, if they don’t, then we know the Bucs made a huge mistake dumping their still very young gunslinger. But I fully expect the Bucs to destroy the Panthers.

  9. TheBucsAnthem Says:

In almost every single game………Donovan Smith is always in the mix of giving up a big or a game altering play

Alot of people don’t realize this too

  10. BucEmUp Says:

ITS ALL JAMEIS FAULT!!!!! YOU CANNOT WIN WHEN YOU TURN THE BALL OVET TO THE OTHER TEAM….RIGHT???!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom Brady THREW TWO…AND VERY CLOSE TO THREE INTS TODAY. DONT FEED YOUR B.S EXCUSES!!!! THE BUCS GOT RID OF A GOOD QB AND REPLACED HIM WITH A GOOD QB.

HOW MANY INTS DID BRADY THROW IN N.E OVER THE LAST DECADE? HELL SINCE HE WAS DRAFTED? HES ALREADY GOT TWO ALMOST THREE IN GAME ONE!

DON’T DARE BLAME IT ON THE WR’S, DONT DARE BLAME IT ON THE PROTECTION, DONT DARE BLAME IT ON ANYONE BUT BRADY. FIRST YEAR IN THE OFFENSE? WELL THIS IS A SIX TIME S.B QB WHO CAN READ DEFENSES ( SOMETHING WINSTON APPARENTLY COULDNT DO. )

WHAT I SAW TODAY WAS A QB WHO DIDNT CHANGE PLAYS BASD ON THE DEFENSE HE WAS READING AND FORCED THE BALL DOWN FIELD RATHER THAN TAKING WAHT THE DEFENSE WAS GIVING HIM. A SIX TIME SUPER BOWL QB!!!!!! SOUND FAMILIAR? I GONNA KEEP BEATING THIS DRUM UNTI IT BREAKS LEFTWICH SUCKS AND IS THE WORST OVER HIS HEAD QB IN THE NFL….IVE SAID IT SINCE THE DAY HE WAS HIRED AND HE IS THE EQUIVELANT TO A CANCER OF OUR OFFENSE AS MIKE SMITH WAS TO THE DEFENSE. JAMEIS IS SMILING AND I’M SMILING WITH HIM! BUCS FAN FOR LIFE BUT ONLY THE BLIND CANNOT SEE IT! RELINQUISH ALL DUTYS FROM LEFTWICH OR THIS DREAM TEAM IS A WASH!!!!!!

  11. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Rod

It’s not about the loss…..BUT IN HOW THEY LOST…

    this team looked poorly coached

    look at all the penaltys

look at poor game play of the offense

look at the stupidity on special teams

HELL…..THE DOLPHINS DIDN’T EVEN look this bad today

  12. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    geez…..stop screaming……typing in all CAPS

  13. Nate1111 Says:

Move wirfs to left tackle right now!

  14. Barlow Says:

I am very much for change with anything if it makes things better, but I will not watch my very much loved Bucs games or pro sports in general as they are promoting change in the wrong way. All lives matter of f course and I love everybody. Color is not relevant

  15. BucEmUp Says:

ARIANS I KNOW YOUR GOONS READ THESE MESSAGE BOARDS!!!!!! FIRE HIS AZZ OR YOU ARE ALL GONE!!!!!!

  16. Youngbucs Says:

Did dude really just use all caps what a loser.

  17. Pewter Power Says:

Sis you seriously say it’s time to earn his money and reputation after week one? 20 seasons isn’t enough of a track record for you I guess. Because he’s the goat doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a playbook to master and against the Saints who are apparently better than us at everything yea we should have expected this

  18. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Everyone hates all this political stuff

Imagine if you did all that stuff in your workplace…………….you’d get fired immediately

  19. BucEmUp Says:

Where is all the turnover machine hate? Where are the excuses for the turnovers that were not justified reasons for Jameis turnover stats? Six time Super Bowl whiner who can identify coverages? Not changes at the line? Nothing more than a single receiver motioning in? Same old vanilla crap? Thats the best you got wit Tom Brady and THIS ROSTER???? Biggest joke in the league. Bury your head Arians unless your willing to cut dead weight and cut it NOW!

  20. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Jameis isn’t here

    move along now

  21. Kobe Faker Says:

“Kobe Faker said 4 months ago

The key to the 2020 season was

    Unplug Leftwich headset

Why the undue harrassment of Kobes foresight?”

    Kobe Faker

  22. Bucsfan951 Says:

Oh yeah, there’s no doubt Brady had a horrible game but let’s not act like JW didn’t have 7-8 of these games last season alone…

Still no excuses. Bucs came out and got smacked in their effing mouths. Hopefully this wakes them up!

  23. Gofortheface30 Says:

Freak out fest time. Jesus Christ. Didn’t this very site predict 10-6. Didnt most of you fans predict 10-6. Were we not all in agreement that they were gnna be around 4-4 before they really started to figure this out. Week one and the simpletons with their PTSD start to freak out. You guys do realize the saints offense only had like 140 total yards going in to fourth quarter? Their defense (besides the boneheaded stuff of course) physically dominated them. Frankly you cannot ask a defense to play much better or more physical. You guys DO remember that our secondary is young and hiccups were going to happen. Oh my f’ing god, one loss and everything is out the window now. You guys are killing me

  24. tbbucs3 Says:

Brady needs to spend less time promoting his other businesses, less time on social media and more time focusing on football.

No way around it that was a bad QB performance today by any standards.

  25. August 1976 Buc Says:

Honesty from the GOAT, he is not the GOAT because he just keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. The Brady bunch will be feasting on the young defense that Carolina has. This game may look familar but this is the first game, not the 16th game of the season. It still stinks, but it does not have the same aroma that has been here for the last decade at the QB position. We did not have a 6 time World Champion as a QB. Now Carolina week has begun. GO BUCS!!!

  26. Rod Munch Says:

TheBucsAnthem – If the Bucs look like this next week, then you worry. But the Saints have the most continuity of any team in the league, that’s a big deal considering this offseason.

Also, as I said, even with as sloppy as it was, the Bucs wouldn’t have been out of it had the stupid kick return team not fumbled the ball. That ended the game, made it a 3 score game.

I’m not panicked at all, as I said before the game, this is what I figured would happen. Would I have liked to see them come out and look amazing, absolutely. But what happened was a sloppy lose to the Saints, just like we opened 2002.

  27. tbbucs3 Says:

I am all in on Brady but you guys will see that Jameis was better than what yall gave him credit for.

  28. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Rod,

So you don’t agree with me that this team today looked poorly coached….

……Like how Mike Evans stopped on his route???

or How about Brady and his multiple overthrown / air balls to receivers??

Seriously…………..there were breakdowns on every single component of this team today.

  29. Thisisouryear!!! Says:

I think we are job omg off the cliff way to quick here. Yes Brady had a rough day but everyone including joe said repeatedly to expect a month for the offense to gel. Bothe the offensive and defensive lines were pushed around by the saints last year. Today they looked much better. Donavan had a rough game but I think he’ll get better. Brady looks more like Brees in the pocket. He drops back and gets rid of the ball. There are lots of positives plus IMO the saints are the toughest team in the NFC.

  30. Simeon Says:

That felt Just like a Bucs game.

  31. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I still think Dirk Koetter is better coach than Bruce Arians

Byron Leftsuck is a liability when he’s calling offensive plays

  32. Rod Munch Says:

TheBucsAnthem – The team looked sloppy today, that doesn’t mean it’s poorly coached, players can be coached well and just not play well. Poorly coached is what you talk about in week 5 if they still look this sloppy.

As for Evans, who was in the wrong, we don’t even know – was it Evans running the right route and Brady reading the d wrong, or was it the other way around? But again how is that coaching. It’s a new QB running a completely new system for the first time since the 1990s, everyone should expect things aren’t going to go smoothly in week 1, in particular with no preseason. BTW, Brees didn’t look all that much better until padding his numbers at the end.

Again, next week, I expect to see the Bucs beat down the Panthers. If that doesn’t happen then all you panicky Petes can panic.

But it’s week 1. Chill out.

    +++++++++

Nevermind, why am I wasting time with someone who has an IQ of 7? My bad.

  34. tbbucs3 Says:

Here are some of the many flaws with Byron Leftwhich play calling today

    – Brady was undercenter way too much. Brady lived in the shotgun with the Pats
    – He tried to force the run game too much when it wasnt there.
    – Stop trying with the cute little screens plays and run real football plays.
    – Most importantly, OPEN UP THE OFFENSE!!

  35. Christopher Schiefen Says:

I just wonder what happened on the two-point. Was his hand hit?

  36. Tbbucs3 Says:

What’s is kinda of funny (and concerning) is that Brady’s press conference sounded like a textbook Jameis presser.

“Can’t turn the ball over, gotta fix it”

  37. Joey M Lacey Says:

Season early just one game a lost is good sometimes we may not lose again

  38. adam from ny Says:

    what if:

tom throws 25+ ints this year…

    just image that…

    what if

  39. adam from ny Says:

and then jameis re-signs with the bucs in the offseason…

  40. chummaster01 Says:

Chalk it up to Karma folks, the way they F…ed Jameis!! What did you expect? and dont blame Lefty all on Arians he’s the one that trashed Jwins so they could lowball his Salary, He did’nt really expect Tommy to be available, ohh and then he was to late to cleanup the the Jboo situation now we are stuck with an aging QB who is worse by far than Montana was when he left San Fran!! OH and btw JBOO Wins is learning from a real offensive genius! who didnt lose the Superbowl!!!

  41. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Welcome to the NFC South Brady!! Where the teams here are not in awe of you and all want a piece of you!! This is not Miami or the bills!! These teams won’t roll over like you’re used to!! You’re going to have to play good all year!! Not just playoffs time that your defense got you to!!!

  42. Billy_46 Says:

One loss and you guys act like EVERYTHING was wrong in this game.
Take out the stupid play on special teams from Mike Edwards and this is a 1 score game.

Defense played great for the most part.

And as far as Koetter being a better coach you guys are CRAZY.
    They lost!!!

I saw 2 great runs by Gurley and instead of Play Action, 1 more run for a 3 yard stop.

Byron Leftwitch does the same thing.
You gotta stay ahead of the curve and Sean Payton did that.

  43. TOM Says:

First off I would like to see Brady call his own plays & get rid of Leftwitch. Of course we all know this won’t happen because BS artist Arians thinks he’s a great OC just like he thinks Smith is a great LT.

  44. Oneilbucs Says:

It’s funny how now yall notice the hold team because Brady is here lol lol .. This lost would have been on Jamies all by himself .
