Bruce Arians Talks About His Other Two Ball Carriers

September 25th, 2020

Rookie RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn

LeSean “Shady” McCoy has one carry for -5 yards this season and it seems to be ok with him, his head coach said today, though obviously McCoy would have liked more out of that one glorious handoff.

Shady is an outspoken and colorful guy, so Joe was wondering if Shady is lobbying behind the scenes for more work in the run game.

Joe asked Bucco Bruce Arians about that today. “No, Shady knows his role; he’s very happy with his role, Arians replied.

Joe also asked the head coach for an update on how rookie third-round-pick RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn has looked in practice.

Arians says he put Vaughn on high alert: “Ke’Shawn is getting better and better. He’s got some great veterans to learn from, and like I told him the other day, ‘Your turn is coming. You just don’t know when, so be ready.”

Joe would love to see the Bucs take a commanding lead Sunday and let Vaughn pound the rock for a final drive or two.

In a year or two, Vaughn most likely will edge out RoJo for playing time. Hopefully we sign Fournette to a long contract. He seems like the real deal.

You would think they told Shady coming in what his role would be. He knew what he was signing up for. And I gotta hand it to our backs for what they are doing as pass catchers.

Huge 1st downs all day last week from both Shady and Fournette. I choose to forgive the one drop.

For the first time in a long time Im excited by our backfield.

Im.just so thankful that all our young guys are so mature now a days. And that they feed off each other. In the lost decade. Specifically the last 5 years. The young guys were do immature and lacked leadership skills. It didnt help that our QBs in that time span lead the dumb parade with things like sucking theyre fingers trying to hype each other up. I hate to think what went on in the showers after practice and games.

None the less, we have a QB now that is already the greatest to ever put on a Bucs uniform. Go figure we went from SofaKingWeTaughtIt to Awesome at QB. Thank God.

    Backfield ranked #4 right now.
When was the last time we could say that?

  5. Hodad Says:

Like to see Vaughn get some touches, and on defense would like to see Davis get his feet wet.

Agreed. Davis gives off one of Licht’s late round/UDFA diamond in the rough 💎 Keep Suh fresh if we gain a big lead.

I mean winston’s nuts has to be salty by now. Some of you guys cant stop talking about him even when the story has absolutely nothing to do with him. Give it a rest or at least let another fan base ie the saints take their turn on swallowing the winston juice that some of you just cant seem to get enough of. RENT FREE!!!!!

I feel like this team is a perfect incubator for young talent now. All these veterans sharing the knowledge and raising each other up.. love it!

I’m also excited to see what Vaughn can do.. I know RoJo is doing better this year (aside from fumble) but we’ve been waiting for the home run threat we saw in his college years. Fournette did what we’ve been waiting to see from Rojo within his first 2 games.. not years.

  10. Cainishere Says:

I would love to see lot’s of 1st and 2nd year guys get in on the game too Joe

  11. buc15 Says:

did somebody mention Winston’s nuts? NDOG…paging NDOG…you are needed in the D riding department

  12. webster Says:

    @ buc15

That comment was not for ndog. Its for all those who validates joe’s nickname that he is America’s Qb because they claim to be happy he is gone but like clockwork they line up on every aricle for a helping of his secret sauce. RENT FREE!!!!

I’d love to see Vaughn playing late in this game too, but it’s a rare thing indeed when our team has had the luxury to play backups because the score is out of hand in our favor. Massive test this week to see if we can kick a dog when it’s down.
