Michael Strahan talks about his Bucs friends

Interesting to hear the words of a Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski friend now that Brady has been a Buccaneer for 5-plus weeks and Gronkowski is in the mix.

Hall of Fame defensive end Michael Strahan worked alongside Gronkowski last year on the FOX gameday studio show and was talking yesterday on The Rich Eisen Show.

Strahan summed up Gronk’s return to football very simply. “He wants to have fun,” adding that Gronkowski made guys on the FOX set lose a wager last year because many had bet Gronk would return to the Patriots in midway through the 2019 season.

Strahan added that Gronk is an authentic personality, the same guy on and off the field and “no one at FOX can say a bad word about working with him

As for choosing the Bucs, it was a no-brainer, Strahan said. “It’s Michael Jordan calling you to come join the Bulls. If [Brady] calls me, I might get my old self in shape,” Strahan said.

The ex-Giants DE said he’s talked to Brady and knows how happy he is with his Tampa decision.

“When Tom had the realization, because I’ve talked to him about it a little bit, when he realized that, you know, it was time. He didn’t realize how good it felt to move on until he knew he was moving on. And I think once that settled in he was very comfortable with going somewhere else,” Strahan said. “And one thing we know about him, he’s going to do what he wants to do. … He’s going to end it the way he wants regardless of people’s ideas of him retiring.”

As for on the field, Strahan cautioned Bucs fans and observers that there will be no easy ride in the NFC South, which is not the AFC East.

Every April I have so much hope, but not like 2020. Keep up the good work, Joe’s!

That’s true I’d say Bress, Ryan and even Bridgewater is light years better than Darnold, Allen and Fitzpatrick.

They are no longer playing in the weakest division in football in fact they are probably now in the best

  5. TOM Says:

    YADA, YADA, YADA Strahan sucks.

Sounds like Belichick beats down his players. Seems Brady and Gronk had enough.

Cobraboy … That’s the real story. Gronk came out of retirement because he had the opportunity to play with his QB. It just had to be for a different team that wasn’t the Pats. That says a lot about the Pats culture.

I wonder how successful they are going to be with a rebuild now that Brady is gone.

According to Cowturd for both Brady and Gronk it was all about getting away from Belicheat. And Cowturd has had Brady’s dong in his mouth for so long I’m sure he has a reliable source.
