Joe thinks it is OK to share this story not quite two years after the fact.
Flash back to the end of the 2017 season. What had started with high expectations with the Bucs featured on “Hard Knocks” crashed and burned. The Bucs were 4-11 entering the final game against the playoff-bound Saints.
In fact, the Bucs were less than two minutes away from a 4-12 season when America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, engineered a 95-yard scoring drive capped by a 39-yard touchdown pass to Chris Godwin.
Naturally, Joe was writing a story on Godwin after the game and was talking to Mike Evans for it. Evans told Joe of Godwin, “He’s a No. 1.” This really stunned Joe and he replied to Evans, “Gee Mike, I thought you were a No. 1?” Evans shot back at Joe, “I am.”
Then Evans started to walk away and he turned back to Joe fighting back a smile and said, “Now don’t you start nothing.”
It seems Evans hasn’t changed his mind.
In this NFL Network video below, Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner talks Bucs with Evans, who explains how much respect he has for Godwin.
“We are competing for No. 1,” Evans said. “That’s how highly I think of Chris.”

It should be interesting this year with a new offense and an ever improving Evans and Godwin. Very good comment from Mike about not shooting themselves.

Because MEME cant help himself from using his hands on the defenders

Kobe,
If Mike Evans has one job,it is making Jameis great. It hasn’t been as easy as making Manziel look good. If Jameis can put it all together this year ,even the most hard headed fans will see how really good Evans is. Pretty much all the receivers that you have taken shots at have taken unnecessary hits, for Jameis and the team. Put your peashooter down,man and leave Evans alone.

The rule to review pass interference calls was initially installed to avoid blatant
pass interference by defenders. Its a two way street IMO, defenders should not be allowed to impede a receiver’s ability to go after the ball by grabbing arms and
jerseys. Referees are going to have a tough time deciding who actually initiated the interference.

Mike Evans has put in a lot of hard work with Randy Moss on how to push off without fully extending his arms. He has done a much better job of it the last few years. It is a strength now, not a weakness mr Kobe faker.

ME a very smart young man, he is aware Michael Floyd,Jon Brown,Santonio Holmes and Antonio Brown all had breakout seasons as #2 wideouts under BA. His system makes #2 stars.

I keep ending up with Godwin + OJ Howard + Winston on a lot of fantasy teams because the value is good with where you can get those guys right now. Winston basically not even ranked like someone you’d draft lol.

Love Godwin, Love Evans, but Warner does NOT deserve the accolades he gets. 3 great seasons outta 10=The Hall of Fame? I DON’T THINK SO!
