The Paint Drinker

January 12th, 2019

Philosopher.

With every Bucs fan trying to learn all they can about new coach Bucco Bruce Arians, did you know he used to drink paint as a child?

True story.

It’s in a really cool sitdown Arians did with the Barstool Sports gang. It appears to be from last summer though the video was published this week, Arians goes through his life story from drinking paint as a child to getting expelled in high school (in part for getting his then-girlfriend and current wife pregnant) through all the stops in his coaching life, including when he stood up to the great Bear Bryant when he thought Bryant conned him about a job.

Another cool element in the interview is that Arians said he still dreams of Tim Couch leading his team to victories.

Arians also said his goal as an offensive coach is to score a point per minute per time of possession. At Arizona, each game he would have six “home run plays” ready to use and he left the field after each game with his six-shooter empty.

Arians also explained why fullbacks are the devil incarnate.

Grab a second mug of coffee and pull up a chair.

“Score a point per minute per time of possession”

This should be easy with this crew, since the Bucs turn the ball over so frequently, and thus lose so many possessions( 19.0% of the time in 2018, which is by far the worst in the league)

Did he recommend a color or mixer preference for his paint…

Cancer93 must be really pouting with Arians getting all this attention and publicity on his team.

My favorite quote of this interview “if you are sleeping in your office then you don’t have an offense or defense, and you are watching film trying steal someone else’s plays”

    The Bruce is Here!

I rather drink paint than the Kool-Aid we drank the past years. When we become winners it will taste so delicious!

Did he recommend a color or mixer preference for his paint…

Yes. Green made him think of Pistachio.

  17. Aceofaerospace Says:

I haven’t felt this good since the day Gruden arrived and Bucco Bruce wasn’t even my first choice. But, I do believe he was the right choice. I pray he can get the best out of Winston and surround him with the complements this team needs.

TexBuc … And my favorite quote was “If this ain’t working, fire me, ’cause I’m gonna do it my way.” Let there be no doubt … BA’s in charge.

  21. tmaxcon Says:

i love it but let’s see the reactions when snowflake bucfan is offended that Arians represents the lost generation of masculine men. arians does not fit the gender-neutral wealth redistribution soft Tampa fanbase.

    ROTFLMAO!

Awesome interview. The more I hear the more I like, the more excited I get……. Go Bucs!

Amazing BA is Dirk’s total opposite. I wonder how thqt will work out for JW who use to believe extremely in is abilities…it sounds like BA has traveled somewhat the same path. Where Dirk taught JW to fear throwing BA teaches if their is a tight window get through it.

Another thing that anazes me has anyone put together the FACT JW participated in BA’s training camp “NO RISK IT NO BISCUIT” (9th or 10th grade).

JW was impressed by BA at a young age and met JImbo who also embraced the young Buc…no pun intended.

I like also where BA speaks about living his life to prove PEOPLE wrong!

    GO JW GO BA!

  25. RODNEY J ALLEN Says:

Joe since we have bucco Bruce Arians does that make us the Bucconeers 😁🤷‍♂️

  26. Mudslide Middleton Says:

38:01 mark. “Over under week two, you get that itch and hit up Drew Stanton with a text thinking about getting back on the sidelines?” BA – “Never, I’m done.” LOL, well it took a little longer than two weeks, but I’m glad the itch kicked in. My favorite coach ever, and I still can’t believe he’s here.
