The Combine Is Upon Us

Yes, Joe landed in not-so-cold Indianapolis yesterday for this winter’s NFL combine. It was sunny and 61. In February!
The annual event is sort of like an NFL winter festival. Anyone who is anyone in the NFL arivies. Many heavy hitters will take to the podium and hold press conferences, including Bucs AC/DC-loving Jason Licht (10 a.m.), Bucs coach Dirk Koetter (10:45 a.m.) and even former Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Chucky (9:30 a.m.).
And that is just this morning!
Joe understands fans will want to watch a live stream of the press conferences. That’s dicey and murky. Per a release from the NFL, the NFL Network will begin airing press conferences each day at 1 p.m. as to not preempt “Good Morning, Football!” programming.
Joe is going to guess NFL Now will broadcast these conferences live, but that is just a guess, as that hasn’t always been the case. Also a hunch that at some point, the press conferences may be uploaded to Buccaneers.com. Again, Joe is guessing.
At any rate, that F5 button on your keyboard is there for a reason. There will be all sorts of fresh if not news-breaking content on JoeBucsFan.com throughout the day.
Additionally, this will continue through the week and into the weekend with draft prospect press conferences.

The combine is mostly a snooze fest but I am interested to see Minkah’s 40, Scarboroughs agility tests, Guice and Chubb in RB pass catching drills, etc …

The extreme attention to Levi Wallace from Alabama he will be a steal in the draft if he makes it to the 3rd or 4th round

The combine should add deadlift and squats in addition to the benchpress to help determine a propects strength. With that it’ll be interesting to see how Vea and Payne do on the agility portions. Overall exticited about Ballage though

Chubb is good….I am just not certain his advantage of size and speed against college players will that that much greater in the pros than several other DE ranked later down the consensus draft boards…

I was just at Indy last week. 75 degrees the day we got there, and 35 and rainy every single day after that. Indy is set up pretty sweet with the hotels, convention center, stadium and the skywalks. I can see why the combine is there every year. Incredibly convenient. I didnt actually count but I’m pretty sure you can get to about 450 different restaurants and 10 hotels without stepping outside. So convenient

yep….probably the BEST plug and play player in this draft….
don’t know if he returns punts or kicks….one of the fastest guys EVER…and a real football player…not a fast guy that played WR or DB in college

I wonder how much “scouting” input our new DL coach Buckner has? He’s taking over the worst unit on the team….the unit that absolutely needs the most attention. Wonder if he’ll go to the combine?
Wonder if he can be of help with the Pro Scouting on FA’s. We obviously need help on our FA strategy, hopefully Buckner can help.
