“The Saints’ Turf Is Not Very Good”

Outspoken yesterday

Mike Evans is a Pro Bowler and he had a lot to say about it yesterday.

How bout that for the 23-year-old franchise receiver.

Evans explained that while his first Pro Bowl nod is awesome, he’s got his sights set on the more prestigious All-Pro team. A select panel of national sportswriters, including JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman, votes for the All-Pro team after the season.

Evans said he is happy the Pro Bowl has relocated from Hawaii to Orlando.

“I didn’t want to go to Hawaii anyway. I’m not a big fan of traveling,” he said.

On heading to the Superdome for Saturday’s clash with the Saints, Evans said “the Saints’ turf is not very good.” But he prefers that to Atlanta’s, which “sucks,” per Evans.

Man, Joe is all pumped for Evans to have a big day against the garbage Saints defense. No way they should hold him down in two consecutive games.

I always thought (on TV) the Saints turf look like the Trop’s turf. Why isn’t it “uniform” green throughout? It’s like it has stains on it.

  2. rayjay1122 Says:

Winston needs to be on target. Evans needs a big game and Winston needs to spread the ball around. A running game would be great too…..but so would a date with Rachel Watson.

heavy dose of sims on the edge….run rodgers up the middle….that will get the play action going….use up tempo….the thing that I’ve noticed is that the up tempo helps jameis in 2 ways….when he starts slow, up tempo helps him get into a groove….when he’s too hyped up, up tempo can help calm him down….

smitty….if brees gets into a rhythm, please bring some pressure….up the middle, off the edge, something, anything….the last thing I want to see is another qb complete over 80% of his passes and brees is very capable of doing just that….we have cb’s that can cover….its playoff football….time to be aggressive…..lose this game and their is no next week…..GO BUCS!!!!

  4. R.O. Says:

They weren’t very garbage when we played 2 weeks ago. Our Offense is pretty average as is our Oline right now. Sorta balances each other out. Unfortunately their O is better then our D.

  5. Bucsfanman Says:

    Get you some, Mike!

  6. jerseybuc Says:

Imperative that we can run the ball, which is why I am hoping that Quizz is active to spell Doug and provide a change of pace. Probably will need a TE, hopefully not Brate, to chip help Wester or Gosder Agree 813 we can’t sit back, Brees is the master, is at home, and is motivated.

  7. pick6 Says:

mike will get open (or whatever his version of “open” is), but his day will depend on his triggerman, who didn’t have a great afternoon vs this vulnerable team the game before last

  8. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Cowboys showed the Saints how to beat the Bucs. Hopefully, Koetter has fixed the problems.

  9. GhostofSchiano Says:

Which O-Line will show up Saturday…that’s the question. GO BUCS

  10. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

LOL Bonzai! Yessir the Cowboys showed the Saints how to beat the Bucs. Now if they can find a franchise running back and 4 all pro offensive linemen by Saturday they can do it.

  11. Mojiska Says:

Yes Dallas showed new Orleans Saints the recipe. Have an elite o line to run the ball and keep our defense guessing. Anyone believe that the saints are capable of that? Their rush o is one of the few in the league worse than ours. On d, they need to force turnovers. Can they do that? Knowing how Dallas beat us and replicating it are two different animals.

  12. Lord Cornelius Says:

Playing against a guy with Mike Evans in my fantasy championship lol. Win and it’s $1200 vs losing and it being $500.

If ME goes off for a Bucs win I am all for it

    Kick their f*cking a4ss!

  13. orlbucfan Says:

Bucs will win one of these last 2 games. Even with being cursed with Buc Luck aka Walking Wounded, they may take both these games. They already are 8-8 which I predicted (fingers x’d) last and this year. They finish on New Years Day at RayJay against the Panthers. Bucs owe us fans those home games. 🙂
All I want for Christmas (Eve)
    Is a Win Against Brees…..

Joe: how about posting a countdown clock for these last 2 games? It will bring us luck on these 2 major holidays. LOL Go Tampa Bay!!

  14. 813bucboi Says:

sean payton is a good enough coach to keep smitty guessing, which I except but will smitty allow brees and sean to get into a groove….will smitty lay back and let the defense keep everything in front of them?…or will he bring some pressure and mix up his looks….smitty has to be aggressive on defense….dirk cant be predictable with his play calling…..GO BUCS!!!!

  15. unbelievable Says:

i’m thinking 95 yards and 2 TDs for Evans this week. Go Bucs!

  16. Buddy Says:

Joe not sure where my other comment went & wasn’t allowed, but can you check to see if New Orleans has a new field cause I believe Mike Evans is wrong again just like his sitting during the national anthem. The saints i belive gave their old turf to the Hall of Fame this past off season so he’s never played on the current turf

  17. Dawn Says:

    Amen Buddy!

  18. BringBucsBack Says:

“Man, Joe is all pumped for Evans to have a big day against the garbage Saints defense. No way they should hold him down in two consecutive games.”

N.O. is probably thinking the same thing about Breeze.

    Feasible Wish List:
    1. Limit the 1st down runs, to almost zero.
    2. Play action on EVERY down.
    3. Employ shorter routes.
    4. Don’t invite the inaccurate, volatile Jameis to the game.
    5. Bump their receivers at the line, PLEASE! ONCE! EVER!

  19. Trubucfan22 Says:

Koetter needs to get creative to get Evans the ball. He is our only big time play maker. Feed him. Run pick plays, double moves, quick slants, wr screens, i dont care, but feed the beast!

And no, i dont have him on my fantasy team. I just want our offense to excell for at least 1 game before the season ends.

  20. Trubucfan22 Says:

Buddy, i think Evans just prefers grass over the astro turf crap.
