What would the Bucs offense look like without Jacquizz Rodgers?
The Bucs might just find that out.
All that pounding on Rodgers, 30 carries at Carolina, 26 at San Francisco and 19 this afternoon, finally took its toll.
Rodgers left the game with a foot injury after racking up 69 yards and a touchdown. And you know it had to be significant for him to come out of a very tight game like this was against the Raiders.
The Bucs are back on the field in four days.
Doug Martin seems like he’s nowhere near ready. Charles Sims is on injured reserve. Mike James was lost to injury in preseason. Bobby Rainey is on the Giants.
That leaves 31-year-old journeyman Antone Smith (four carries, one fumble and 16 yards today) and undrafted rookie Peyton Barber to carry the rock against the Falcons.
Joe has seen what the Bucs offense looks like when there’s no running attack.
Joe’s got every finger and toe crossed for Rodgers’ speedy return.

I really didn’t like our playcalling later in the game and overtime……running too much, especially on 1st and 10….very predictable.
Maybe if our running game is shut down we can go to the short passes and screens that we seem to have success with….I didn’t see many of those today.

Crushing, especially giving up the lead. And that defensive holding after they failed on 4th down.

Not much different. He’s really just a pedestrian NFL RB at best. If he were a baseball player he’d be a 1 WAR or similar.

Cannot tell me Peyton Barber and Freddie Martino are the best RB and WR available. Hit the practice squads. Bring Boehinger to he Bucs. Clone of VJax when he came out. Is he raw, yes but I’m thinking Monken can bring him up right.

Let Aguayo play running back. There has got to be something a 2nd Rd pick can do right. If Doug Martin can’t play put him on IR. He is worthless to us. Bring Hansbourgh off PR and hope for 1 yard and a cloud of dust, anything to get us out of this season behind us.

What a sorry ass franchise when your mvp was picked up off the street after week 2 and bucs high draft picks and trades are either full blown busts, always injured and/or just excuse makers. Winston is not the answer and our rental DC Smith will not be here next year. Aaaaah, it’s a Yucs life! Can we please trade McCoy now. Oh, we can’t cuz we overpaid for him, Verner, Martin, LVD and Vjax. Great job Licht! Incompetence personified year after year.
