Inexperienced Bucs receivers like Adam Humphries grab the spotlight today in Atlanta.

Bucs receivers not named Mike Evans have a huge test coming this afternoon in Atlanta.

Russell Shepard, Donteea Dye and Adam Humphries — eight career catches combined — will be attacked, says injured Vincent Jackson.

Speaking on the Buccaneers Radio Network on Friday night, Jackson said he expects the aggressive Atlanta cornerbacks to get after them.

“They have two good corners out there, [Robert Alford and Desmond Trufant], and the reason they’re able to play the defense they do, a lot of one-high safety, is the fact they believe that those guys can play on the island by themselves. And they’ve made some plays this year,” Jackson said.

“They’re aggressive guys and they got good skills. So we gotta be sharp. As a receiving corps, you know, we know that we have to really clean this week and get in and out of our breaks, be quarterback-friendly, coming back to the ball, stepping back to the ball, being aggressive with these guys, especially at the line of scrimmage. Alford can be a little bit handsy and things like that and get up in your grill and mix things up it a bit. Obviously, they might see some young receivers up there, so they’re going to be more apt to test them and see what they’re going to do.”

On paper, this Falcons game is such a tough spot for the Bucs without V-Jax and Louis Murphy. It will be interesting to see if any of the three youngsters can respond.
