Jameis Trolls The Titans

April 14th, 2015

jameis 0407

This was pointed out to Joe by a few readers, mostly on Twitter. Yes, prospective Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston is visiting with teams (visiting does not equate “work out”). Yesterday fresh off a two-day period socializing with ex-Bucs players at a function for the Mike Alstott Family Foundation, Winston was off to Nashville to see the Titans.

Joe already brought word of Winston being met and escorted around the Titans facility by a sultry blonde in a short black dress. Nothing against Bucs general manager Jason Licht, but this is how you make an impression upon a young lad fresh from college.

Anyway, as the readers noted, Winston was wearing an Alstott Family Foundation polo shirt while meeting with the Titans.

Joe thinks that is just some hilarious, flat out trolling right there. That would be like wearing an Eddie George jersey to a meeting with the Bucs.

And folks wonder why Joe is so excited to have Winston come to Tampa Bay. Talk about “it.”

Sure does seem like the kid wants to be a Buc!

  2. Buc Neckid Says:

    Got to admit it
    that is kind of Funny

  3. Buc1987 Says:

lol That pic Joe. I think he was doing some rap or something. I remember seeing that video somewhere and he was making that face…

He drops the mic to filed after he’s done…. that’s called swagger.

Warren Sapp had 1/2 the swagger this kid has…and I’m a HUGE Sapp fan for that reason alone.

  4. INDYbucsfan Says:

It’s nice to see someone who actually WANTS to play for us and isn’t just counting the $

  5. robert 9 Says:

    it aint swagger…..

just another example of blatant stupidity.

going on a job interview dressed inappropriately.

  6. Dan Says:

As funny as it is, that kind arrogance is going to ruin him in the end. Better hope the Bucs don’t take Mariota because if I’m the Titans ownership, no way I’m taking him after this. Dumb move on his part to burn bridges…unless he REALLY doesn’t want to play in Tennessee.

  7. Buc1987 Says:

Just wait til this kid throws a TD strike and proceeds to run by the opposing teams bench waving his finger at them…

Yes the flag will come out, but the crowd will roar!

  8. Dan Says:

    INDYBucsfan,

It’s still about the $. He may not say it openly, but there is a sharp contact difference in the #1 pick and a pick in the mid-1st round. I personally think it’s more about wanting to be the #1 pick rather than wanting to play for the Bucs.

  9. RCH Says:

I jumped on the Winston bandwagon over a month ago, but I got to tell you it sure seems like he really wants to be on this team which is pretty awesome.

  10. Buc1987 Says:

Robert’s… going to love having Winston on his Madden team.

  11. ChessMaster Says:

Do you think Talib cared if the Bucs picked him? Do you think Clayborne cared if the Bucs picked him? Do you think Barron cared if the Bucs picked him? Do you think Freeman cared if the Bucs picked him?

Wanting to be somewhere means more than you’d think!

  12. Idontwannahearitanymore Says:

Robert9 – yes, it always about you.

  13. I Get It Says:

Robet9 – go away (to Miami, I presume).

  14. dylan Says:

Thought you’d like that.. But I don’t know, after all Jaws did say that Mariota is going to the Bucs…

  15. Buc Neckid Says:

    Look…
The Titans are not drafting ANY QB this draft.
SO why not have a little FUN
But yes, I Agree that Winston is putting all of his eggs in the BUCS Basket by wearing the Shirt and Attending an un-official BUCS event this past weekend so publicly

  16. robert 9 Says:

that we can agree on 87. I’m still playing madden 13′ for freeman, nicks etc…

remember when we had an actual OL?

  17. HawaiianBuc Says:

  20. Andrew 1 Says:

I mean look that, the guy shows that his loyalty is with US and some of OUR fans have a problem with it. smh. Hate to see what would have happened around here if he showed up with titans gear on his visit with them.

  23. robert 9 Says:

you guys are acting like this was not a dumb move really?

it’s worse than showing up for a corporate position in jeans and a wife beater.

it’s another example of the type of common sense most people have in their mid teens, and this guy still doesn’t get it.

hell, you guys are so color blind with your bucs shades that you don’t get it!

  26. Andrew 1 Says:

Also, let this be yet another hint that Winston will be a buc. Lets face if, if there was even an absolute shred of doubt in the Winston camp about him being a buc, there’s no way he pulls off a stunt like that.

This is just more of the elaborate ruse that OBP is undertaking to make everyone think they aren’t taking Mariota. Scrategy!

I’m glad no one can see me, because I can’t even type that with a straight face.

Yep. And you are the modicum in impartiality. It’s not like you look for the negative in Winston whatsoever. There’s zero bias in Bobby9’s eyes.

  32. charactermatters Says:

    Robert
I agree with you that was a stupid move. Don’t burn bridges. Of course the only way you could say that’s not so stupid is if Jameis was assured by the Buccaneers that he is their pick. Even that is being a little naive without a contract in hand.

  33. robert 9 Says:

sorry, maybe I need to dumb it down fer yall.

it’s like wearing a direct tv shirt to go on a comcast interview.

lol @ 87 diggin the archives. it took me a full year of laziness to get fired from that job, because I was still a top producer working 1/2 a$$ and an hour commute each way.

  34. Buc1987 Says:

ODB…some of them are still digging in. Hilarious stuff. Robert well he’s been buried in and doesn’t really count anymore.

  35. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

Let’s not forget JW sporting a Man U jersey a couple of weeks ago

And then there’s this epic troll job by Winston, all in the name of charity:

    http://www.tmz.com/2015/04/14/jameis-winston-mocked-crab-leg-arrest-for-charity-say-deadliest-catch-guys/

We spoke with “Deadliest Catch” star Capt. Keith Colburn — who was at the Mike Alstott Family Foundation celebrity outdoor weekend with Jameis … and he told us how it all went down.

“I had a giant king crab we were auctioning off,” Colburn says … when Jameis suggested that he should make a public spectacle out of the situation because he knew it would be “good press” for the foundation.

  36. Pete Says:

    Winston is too risky
    Mariota’s has 3rd round skills
    Trade down!!!

  39. BUCSLEGENDS Says:

87, love ya man ! That being said, I gotta tell you my Bucs brother you’re sounding like you’ve forgotten what it was like being a Freeman supporter. Man as much sh&t as you took for that I’d think you would have a little more understanding of other peoples opinions. When I first found JBF you were constantly getting pounded for your opinion and I thought,…man this dude sticks to his guns. Anyway, MUCH RESPECT !!!!!!!!! GO BUCS !!!!!!!

  40. TheDon Says:

King Jameis with the Troll! I love it!

  41. Eric Says:

Not a thing wrong with wearing a shirt from a charitable foundation, whoever is the head of it.

If I were the Titans I would consider that a good thing.

Like they really are going to decide not to draft a guy because hes wearing a shirt – from a foundation trying to help kids. That’s why they give out shirts to advertise the foundation.

You guys are hopeless. Totally twisted.

  42. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

Everybody, try google image searching the Mike Alstott Family Foundation. Does that logo look anything like the Bucs? At all?

What he did was wear a CHARITY related shirt to a FOOTBALL interview. I’m sure Titan’s brass noted in their binder, “Wore Mike Alstott charity polo, do not want.”

WE MUST BURN HIM AT THE STAKE.

  43. Luther Says:

    I think more correct is

Like wearing a Bay News 9 shirt to a Verizon FIOS interview when Bay News 9 has already offered you the job. Not a good thing but still funny if you are on the Winston/Bucs side of the fence.

  44. Skyline Crew Says:

  53. Keepitreal Says:

Ahhh @Bunker9… What’s up dumb a$$? He wants to be a Buc and you have a problem with that. I like that he lays it on the line. Your boy MM aka the mute just doesn’t have the balls.. He plays it safe. I’ll take the guy who swings for the fences, you can have the bunter trying to get on first. Like the swag, confidence and leadership. Welcome to Tampa Jameis!

  54. TpaBayFlyFisher Says:

When he throws his 15th INT next season, some Tenn fan will remind him of this on twitter.

  55. Andrew 1 Says:

I’m already excited to have Winston as a buc. Yea you read that right.

  56. Ryan Says:

Joe’s fanboy ways is becoming pretty pathetic. How was he trolling the Titans? Wearing an Alstott Foundation polo is nowhere near like wearing an Eddie George jersey.

  57. charactermatters Says:

    Tiny Tim,
yes, that is what they’re paid to do, but that doesn’t mean that they always do. You cannot deny that players and coaches constantly look for things other than money to motivate their team. If this were not so why would coaches caution their players not to give the other team “bulletin board material “? Don’t worry, I have no problem keeping up.

  58. koby_kilpatrick Says:

You can say what you hate Winston. But you can’t compare him to manziel on defenses hating him and stopping him for more than just what they are paid for. Players love him and his swagger by articles you can find anywhere including https://www.joebucsfan.com but apparently those who use the same hate on Winston that’s been disproved or is just rookie mistakes seem to forget that. And hang on to any any thread of negativity they can even though they make it up out of thin air.

  59. Eric Says:

Winston is also visiting the Bears, and Marcus the Chargers.

Lots of interest in both these guys.

Must be the case neither has been told they are the pick.

  60. Eric Says:

I’m sure other teams are getting pumped up beyond belief over a charity tee-shirt.

    Hilarious.

  61. Skyline Crew Says:

Don’t forget Jets are bringing in Winston as well.

  62. charactermatters Says:

Bummer it’s buried @7PM but it was an interesting show last season.

  72. thegregwitul Says:

Robert 9, what makes you qualified to comment on how someone dresses on a team visit, when you are a self admitted sexual deviant who stole money from your former employer?

This is what it’s come to, folks; a pervert and a thief is criticizing a prospect for wearing a Mike Alstott foundation polo shirt. Keep staying classy Rob!

  73. Stanglassman Says:

Thanks Jfat- I watched it on ESPN’s website but it was only a few minutes long. Was that was a short tease version? It seemed short. I watched the Gurley one too, boy it would be tough to pass up taking him if he happened to drop to #34.

  74. LargoBuc Says:

If Winston wants to be a Buc with all of his heart, and not just play quarterback, but be there with us to come up with ways to turn this franchise around, then that just confirms our choice. Winston coming into one buc everyday with a plan on how to turn this thing arpund is what sets him apart from EVERY OTHER PLAYER in this draft.

  75. Bucs_Sam Says:

    Very classy.

  76. JFat Says:

@Stan – Each episode is an hour long… 4 episodes I believe. Follows all 6 guys through the entire draft process, pre-combine, combine, pro-days and then the draft. Should be a lot more than what is in those teasers for sure:)

Gurley does seem like an interesting cat, looking forward to it.

God I hope the Bucs slipped Winston the rudiments of a playbook already.

  80. Joey Says:

You seem to “minimize” your character issues yet you can’t understand why Winston supporters laugh at those who condemn him for soda in a water cup/cursing? You are a piece of work and a hypocrite.

  83. Bill Says:

This is just one more example of Winstons mentality; he’s a competitor with his eyes on the prize, always. It’s very obvious that the draft is his current competition and being drafted by Tampa is the prize. If you plan for second place then that’s probably where you’ll end up. I have every expectation that Winston will win this fight too.

If you step back and give it some honest thought, you’d have to say Winstons approach has served him very well. If it ain’t broke…

You know thats the beauty of being an individual in a world with billions of people walking around. You can be different. Names like Ali, Deon Sanders, Sapp etc. Being confident stating you want to be the best, or a Hall of famer or a superbowl champ is not anything to frown upon or look down on. It is what drives the greats and some have no problem telling you that from the start ala Tom Brady. I am not sure why you find this to mean he has a “big mouth.” I am sorry you are so offended that this young man set his sights high and tells the world just how high his sights are set. True competitors respect Winston’s attitude because he puts in the work, they think like he does from a competitive standpoint and he is all about his teammates. You just don’t like him. Funny, when everybody meets this young man they like him. His mouth must not be too big. Too bad for you.

  99. Trubucfan22 Says:

His confidence is what makes him great. Peyton manning is not a humble dude. Tom Brady is not humble. They know they are great and they flaunt it. Nothing wrong with that. But knowing you still need to work your butt off is important. Hopefully winston continues to put in the work.

I have all the confidence in the world in winston. I believe he can grow up and be a mature professional, while still being the goof ball charismatic guy he is.

Aaron Rodgers is also a goof ball. Nothing wrong with joking with the guys and creating that off the field chemistry. Friends have each other’s back. Co workers do their job and go home. If you don’t loved our teammates then you are just working for a pay check. It’s when you love the people in that huddle, that you can do special things. Leadership is the single most important thing for the great qbs.
