Touchdown Stolen!

September 23rd, 2012

First, let Joe say that the replacement refs really looked like garbage today in Dallas. It’s no exaggeration to say this was a horribly called game.

And this mess that Roger Goodell has treated fans to cost the Bucs a touchdown today — and possibly the game.

Michael Bennett sacked Tony Romo cleanly in the third quarter with the Bucs trailing 10-7. Romo fumbled and Eric Wright scooped up the ball and ran 30 yards or so into the end zone. Touchdown. Right?

Nope.

The clueless zebras senselessly believed Romo was in the grasp or already down. It was reversed on a challenge, but rules state the Bucs can’t be awarded advancement of the ball on the reversal.

Of course, as was the case nearly all game, the Bucs did nothing with the turnover, went backwards, in fact, and punted.

And while Joe’s on the officials, what did Myron Lewis do to deserve a key personal foul in the fourth quarter on punt return team?

Terrible day for the zebrasa. It’s bad enough the Bucs offense was dreaful. To have a TD stolen is disgusting.

Joe you are right it was stollen ! Do we have officials on the take? Or gambling ? But Freeman has to go. He is not a franchise QB.

Freeman IS a franchise QB…this game was horribly called….1 yrd running plays with 1:30 left….wtf

  5. Kyle Says:

It’s not Freeman’s fault that it would be 3rd and a mile, how in the hell is he supposed to convert that! This is just like the 90s offense and like then I was extremely pissed today.

    My thoughts exactly Joe.

  7. FloridaGirl Says:

Shoulda woulda coulda….as a professional football team, you can’t rely on the refs to call it correctly….you must put enough points between you and the other team. Terrible QB and receiver play today

  8. Pete 422 Says:

What about Mike Sullivan & the horrible play calling? The offense lost this game for the Bucs.

  9. Nick Says:

The refs blowing the early whistle has been going on for years. They always blow the play down instead of letting it play out. I can remember it happening to the Bucs against the Saints years ago. Nothing new. Still, the refs suck

  10. Patrick Says:

Even if the refs would’ve called the touchdown, we still would’ve lost.

Cause Romo can actually move the ball down the field and bring his team back.

  11. Teddy Says:

That game took 3 hours and 25 minutes to play. There were times when the nofficials put the ball on the wrong hash mark, they seemed indecisive with many play calls and the referee didn’t sound like he was in control of the game. Sure, these guys will probably get better over time, but it seems far too much like this is Roger Goodell’s version of Reagan’s stance over the PATCO strike. It seems less about the issues and more about not protecting his image as a tough negotiator.

no excuses Joe free and sulli lost this one easily. I love free but I’m just not sold on tha wolf tickets being sold that he’s a franchise qb. He doesn’t scramble anymore, still holds tha ball 2 long in tha pocket, throwing with touch and accuracy. It’s pathetic 2 watch hardly no growth and its year 4 on project freeman. Had we not acquired blount in 2010 there would be zero talk of him being a franchise qb

  13. 507 Bucs fan Says:

This is a stupid arguement! A REAL offense would have given us 7 points! We couldn’t move the ball at all that drive! We had the ball near the cowboy’s red zone for god sake!

  14. 507 Bucs fan Says:

Or at least a field goal! They were in field goal range when they got the ball!

First the refs and then special teams. How about this….the offense SUCKED!

Free does not appear to be moving around as before. I wonder if this is by design? He looks to just be standing in the pocket and not buying time with his legs like Romo.

I think Free will improve. It took Eli roughly 3yrs under his system to be where he is now. Hopefully it woke take him that long and the bye week will help.
