“Best cover corner in the draft”

Whoa whoa whoa McShay. The consensus is that Janoris Jenkins is the best pure cover corner in this Draft.

Would love this pick for the Bucs!!! With T-Jack being released this morning we need better CBs and Lewis/Biggers are just AWFUL…. Have Talib, Claiborne, and Barber and that is strong group of CBs

  3. Lion Says:

I like what I see, he is exactly what the Bucs need! He has a very high football IQ, screw the Wonderlic.

  4. Lion Says:

    @sensible

How is Jenkins the “consensus” best cover cb? I’ve heard more analysts refer to Claiborne as the best pure cover corner than I have Jenkins. A couple say Jenkins name but no way is it the consensus.

  5. Lion Says:

    Jenkins is Talib-2.0

He reminds me of Champ Bailey.

He was a wide reciever before he came to LSU. I think he will be an incredible cornerstone of our young D.

I really hope we have the chance to draft him. Hes also a good, hard working kid.

    Character issues? No way.

By the way, anybody else fired up to have that LSU DB coach as our new DB coach? He clearly knows how teach and produce.

    Go Bucs!!

  7. Brain Says:

McShay nailed it surprisingly. Elite cover corner with plus ball skills as well. Only problem is he’s awful (yes, awful) against the run. He misses more tackles than EJ Biggers does, and that’s at the college level where he’s supposed to dominate.

Janoris Jenkins is a more proven cover corner than Claiborne. Jenkins shut down AJ Green, Julio Jones and Alshon Jeffery multiple times in college. In 7 games against those 3 didn’t allow a single 100 yard game, and some of them were sub-50 yard games. Claiborne is a better playmaker than Jenkins but not a better pure cover guy. The problem is character…Claiborne is a guy you can plug in and not worry about. Jenkins is clouded by marijuana issues and motivation issues (from early in his career).

    Gimme Kuechly over both though…

  8. Deminion Says:

    That was amazing

    Claiborne!!!!

  9. lowlife Says:

Even I’m pining for Claiborne to be the pick, the last person I’d use to support is Hot Toddy over here.
