Update: Newton “Game-day Decision”September 4th, 2014
Yesterday, it was widely reported that Stinking Panthers quarterback Cam Newton did not fully participate in practice because of his cracked ribs. Bad news for Newton and the Stinking Panthers fans, good news for Bucs fans.
Well, for the second straight day, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, not only did Newton not practice, but the Stinking Panthers’ franchise quarterback hinted he is not 100 percent certain he will start Sunday in the season-opener at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway.
#Panthers QB Cam Newton says he wasn’t full-go today. “All for the betterment of trying to get healthy.” “My thinking” is to play Sunday

Of course, the Lambs, the Week 2 foe of the Bucs, just lost Sam Bradford with a(nother) season-ending knee injury.
UPDATE: Per Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer, Newton is hardly a lock to play Sunday.
Rivera said Cam is probably a game-day decision.
