Stafford: Bucs Are Most Talented Defense

November 20th, 2013

In this Detroit Free Press video, Lions beat writers Dave Birkett and Carlos Monarrez are trying to figure out why Matthew Stafford said the Bucs are the most talented defense he’ll see all season yesterday.

Joe’s not too surprised by Stafford’s comment (perhaps he watched some Revis film?). The Bucs defense is loaded with talent – with a Pro Bowl producer at all three levels of defense. Can the New Schiano Order get the most out of it?

Joe hopes Stafford feels the same way on Monday. The Lions allow the fewest sacks in the NFL. Stafford likely will have all kinds of time.

Stafford is setting himself up to look good. He knows our secondary is hopping on one leg right now. We’ll have to get consistent pressure on him while our offense looks to play keep away.

We might have a few Big names on defense but we are far from the best defense and He knows that. He is just saying it to help himself.

The good news is that all the Lions receivers not named Johnson aren’t very good…the bad news is the same is true about our CB’s and S’s not named Revis or Baron.

I think its going to come down to which teams other guys suck less.

McCoy needs to step up and get him a few times he needs to take his game from pro bowler level to HOF level the next five to seven years

I think our defense has the ability to be elite and at times have shown it against almost every opponent.

Don’t forget we completely shut Bree’s down for almost an entire football game with this defense.

With the way they are playing now they are scary and I foresee McCoy, Clayborne and Bowers putting all kinds of pressure on Stafford all game.

Is Detroit the training ground for beat writers? What are these guys, college juniors?

did they shoot this video in a waiting room at a car dealership?

I think our defense can hold them to 21-24 points. we are just going to have to do what we do best on offense and thats run the ball. that will at the same time keep their offense off the field. The only thing is… I dont think we can stand toe to toe with their front d line, so we are probably going to have to work the perimeter with some runs to the outside for most of the game. They also dont have the best secondary so I think Glennon can have some success. lets pull the upset.

and for Gosh sakes, lets try not to get a personal foul for once in a game! seems like every game we are good for at least one personal foul.

  10. Bobby Says:

The Steelers dropped 37 on their defense so I think we can go toe to toe with them. If we can find success with the run game again then we should be able to put points on the board. Our guys should be able to get to Stafford and get him off of his spot. If Revis can contain Calvin we can come out with a win.

That Stafford is a manipulative bastard.
    Can’t Truss it.

If I see Megatron catch a pass on somebody other than Revis I will throw up. I better not see Johnson/Banks covering him at any point this week.
