Martin, McDonald, Rodgers Out

November 2nd, 2016

red cross

Ugly news out of One Buc Palace this afternoon.

Yes, we knew Doug Martin would be out of tomorrow night’s game against the Dixie Chicks. And we had a good idea Jacquizz Rodgers would be out too.

Now we learned today defensive tackle Clinton McDonald is out. Again. It may get worse.

Special teams ace/erstwhile receiver Russell Shepard is doubtful for the game against Atlanta at the Den of Depression. Additionally, defensive tackle Will Gholston is listed as questionable.

This is just depressing.

Yikes. Let’s go mike James. Time to run over some dirty birds.

  2. cmurda Says:

Fortunately, I am available to play tomorrow night. I’m out of shape and pretty much a useless pass rusher but 9 out of 10 Bucs fans agree that I am better than our current Defensive Ends.

  3. Trevor Tyler Says:

Man the Bucs just need to put Doug on the IR. McCoy is back from a hammy injury. Stewart is back from a hammy. Both were out for 2 weeks. Doug is about to miss his 6TH STRAIGHT GAME. Like Doug is SUPPOSED to be our workhorse but the pattern of his play his continuing. Just put him on IR and stop getting our hopes up every week.

    DAMN….that is depressing…

@cmurda…Im with you…I use to play cb…they can throw me in there at the safety position….I know how to keep people in front of me and wrap up…can still run about a 4.6 on a good day….GO BUCS!!!!

I know that this is hardly the kind of forum where something like this could be heard by someone who could actually do answer the question with any kind of knowledge of the situation, but I’ll put it out there anyway in case someone can tell me a reason why it wouldn’t work:

Why wouldn’t the league split the number of games played per week in half and essentially give each team a bye week after every game while not having to worry about there being a dead spot in games being played? That makes the product better by giving teams a better chance of having their best talent on the field more often, it gives them a chance to make the refs full time because they will not need as many of them and they’ll have to stretch the season out so they’ll be employed all year, by stretching the season out you’re increasing the likelihood of being able to play the Super Bowl in more places that would otherwise be ruled out due to the winter weather, and it gives you more of the year round coverage of the league that they want with actual meaningful content without having to generate controversies and all the nonsense that serves as filler during the super long offseason.

  6. BucsFan90 Says:

Will they be selling Jason Licht Kool Ale at the stadium?

  7. Bob in valrico Says:

    Patrick
Many people think the underlying problem is the lack of the oldstyle Nfl Training camp. With the new CBA teams are only allowed less than 10 practices in pads.Players aren’t ready and they are not in good enough shape.
That said players are fighting back against owners who are trying to extend the season.Look at the amount of injuries we have in 7 games.

  8. ElioT Says:

I just can’t believe they didn’t address DT in the offseason. They went in relying on three injury prone starters and a bunch of no-name UDFAs.

Then only added an older injury prone Ayers along with a developmental 2nd Rd pick in Spence to go along with a bunch of one-dimensional DEs.

You didn’t have to be Nostradamus to see what would happen if even one starter went down on this line.

ZERO PASS RUSH + ZERO ROTATION = GASSED, INEFFECTIVE DEFENSE.

Lot’s of luck against Matty ICE!

I would like to apply to play at Defensive End for the Bucs tomorrow night. I am kind of old but my motor runs high. 6″4 290 pounds. Played DE in High school. Chose Uncle Sam over college without any regrets. I love this team and may not be able to siege the day but I will damn sure defend this house. We have legends wear the Bucs uniform with pride, from Selmon, Williams, Bell and Giles to Lynch, Dunn, Alstott, Sapp, Brooks, etc. Sick and tired of not seeing the passion from our players anymore. Where is the pride that the aforementioned names displayed every time they took the field. Starting to think it’s all about the paycheck. Which is why I am enjoying college football more and more. Which is why I don’t think the NFL ratings are down due to Kapernick, it’s down because it has turned into such a business, and the fans are starting to see it.

I’m glad my 75″ 4K UHDTV is in a shipping delay and wont arrive until Friday, missing tomorrow nights game.

My TV will get a much needed bye week from having the bucs on and me throwing my beer bottles and remote at it for a week and half. Rest up Mr. Samsung!

    Are we having fun yet?

  11. Warrenfb12 Says:

    Unbelievable

  12. Tackleblockwin Says:

I’m good for one snap at DE. Probably get injured so won’t see a second snap. But that one snap I play…oh boy will you see some comical effort and get a good laugh.

  13. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Wow Martin is still out? Wtf man. We gave this man top level money and hasn’t played a snap since week 2.

  14. Locked In Says:

Wondering when Louis M will be set free…

  15. D-Rome Says:

Is J.R. Sweezy coming back this year?

  16. BuccaneEric75 Says:

This game could get Lovie ugly real quick. Time to hit up the beer distributor. No matter many I buy, it won’t be enough.

  17. DrHoagy Says:

It’s not just the Bucs, there are way too many injuries across the league. If the owners even think about an 18 game schedule they are criminally insane. Not many players made though 16 and that was before the new CBA. They talk about protecting the players well being but it is nothing but lip service.

  18. BucGator Says:

Doug can’t heal because he is too dehydrated from getting hammered every night.

  19. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo can play….with Pablo’s great speed, Pablo can play WR or DB……Unfortunately, Pablo would have to leave at the end of the 3rd Quarter so Pablo can be ready to table dance for the after game crowd”

  20. VaBuc Says:

We need to cut our ties with Clinton McDonald his ass has been injured since he been here im sick of him a damn waist of money cant stay healthy

  21. sho nuff Says:

    Doug is a grifter…total fake

  22. passthebuc Says:

I see where the vikings OC resigned. Here’s hoping.

  23. passthebuc Says:

it was hears hoping for the DC

  24. BucFan20 Says:

Off subject. So Banks gave up and got tired of all the constant changes?

  25. mike10 Says:

    Why couldn’t I have been 6’5, 220?

They are off 8 months, season lasts 4, and some are injured half the season.

Hey Bucs, sack the f up! Heal in the offseason.

  26. Buccfan37 Says:

The amount of Buc injuries seems high. Fans are kept in the dark as to the severity of injury and the timetable to return to action. It’s like a secret whitewash. Tell the truth Bucs people. It’s in the contract to protect the player I’ve heard. BS! Why is the NFL tax exempt? Well, the wealthy have that privllege also.

  27. gotbbucs Says:

They might as well set up a tent and start remaking “MASH”.

  28. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

Martin is a waste who is collecting a pay check for doing nothing. Which I called before we resigned his useless a$$. Could have had Lamar Miller but instead we have one of the laziest players in the game. Would’ve could’ve should’ve…smh Licht

  29. richbucsfan Says:

Prepare for a dumpster fire and you won’t be hysterical on Friday morning. They are talentless and few good players. I’m of the opinion that the Bucs may never recover and remain bad to mediocre permanently. The owners will make their money, they’ll run through coach after coach, they’ll have an occasional really good player that will waste his career here… There are only a few great teams and they will stay that way…

  30. James Walker Says:

Martin obviously does not want to play. He has been out for 5 weeks with a hamstring?

  31. James Walker Says:

Play him. If he ends up with a season ending injury it does not matter because if we lose our whole season is over.

  32. cmurda Says:

Yeah 813, that’s what I’m talking about. Get out there and replace Conte. We need you.

  33. Eric Says:

As bad as it seems wins over the Rams and raiders were within our grasp……and 5-2 now.

Beat Atlanta and things look way better.

Only two games where we didn’t compete.

    Go bucs.

  34. LakeLandBuc Says:

They all will be drinking Jason Light Ale with JR (Eazy Money) Sweezy and Vincent (55,555,555) Jackson while watching the game on the big screen. Spending the big bucks that the dumb Bucs drop on them.
