Deep In Red Zone = Green Zone

November 2nd, 2016
Perfect deep in red zone.

Perfect deep in red zone.

Yes, one would expect if a team has a first-and-goal situation, a touchdown should damned near be a sure thing. That’s not always the case.

Heck, even the Belicheats don’t get the job done.

But the Bucs have!

Per the Bucs media relations department, who always digs up good nuggets, the Bucs are but one of two NFL teams that have scored a touchdown on each team they’ve faced first-and-goal.

In other words, if the Bucs had a first down inside an opponent’s 10 yard line, a touchdown ensued. Eight for eight!

Now the trick is getting the damned ball down there in the first place.

Sounds like the old “Lipstick on a Pig,” to me. By the way good luck Johnathan Banks. If you had a chance to succeed in the NFL, it just improved greatly. Adrian Clayborn and Mark Baron are proof that life after the Buc’s is not all that bad.

Inside the ten, Jameis improvises. He is a threat to run in short burst making db’s and lb’s make a decision

Does anybody realize this is just Winstons 2nd year and Koetter’s 1st year as head coach???, Give it time people. Everyone wants to win now in this instant gratification society. We will get better after and this year, there are positives as this articles shows (rare but thanks Joe) so lets hold on to those and not bite on the constant negativity, which is easy.
I still believe this team will get better.

I remember leaving the big sombrero many of times for many of years saying …man, maybe next game or next year. We had our high and low moments , alot of low moments, i get that, but we will have the highs again, thats all.

Again 8 for 8 is nice. But it’s about Opportunities. Where do the Bucs fall in Median Opportunities. 10th percentile? 90th percentile?leasrnamiuntnof Ops can garner higher success rate in the near term.

Of those 7 completions in the 2nd half one was a TD pass on 1st&goal and another was the 2pt conversion. I guess if you’re gonna miss at least make the good ones count.

Too bad the Bucs are not quite as good as the Titans in the Red Zone

That is a surprising fact that highlights the fact that the O is improving. Obviously, we have a ways to go, but it’s a good sign imo.
