Texans DT J.J. Watt referred to America’s Quarterback as “smart.”

When America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, noted in the offseason he was looking forward to playing J.J. Watt more than any NFL player this season, a lot of Bucs fans moaned and thought the last thing Jameis should do is rile up the best defensive player in the NFL and a true quarterback killer. Video proof of Lovie Smith getting fired up.

Joe gets a kick out of the meatheads who argue Lovie Smith, Bucs coach, is unemotional.

First off, when hiring a guy, Joe doesn’t give a damn if the guy is a statue or picks his nose or does shots of Jack on the sidelines. (more…)

Voice of the Bucs, Gene Deckerhoff, has lofty expectations for the pewter pirates with America's Quarterback.

Voice of the Bucs, Gene Deckerhoff, has lofty expectations for the pewter pirates with America’s Quarterback barking signals.

Back in training camp, Joe talked to longtime Buccaneers play-by-play man Gene Deckerhoff. He is one of the very few (maybe the only one working; Joe can’t find the answer) who worked the microphone for both a Super Bowl winner and a college football champion.

Deckerhoff, of course, is the voice of the Florida State Seminoles. Joe chatted with Deckerhoff about America’s Quarterback, Bucs rookie signal-caller Jameis Winston, and what made the kid special and the Bucs’ No. 1 overall pick. (more…)

Man, it was like Joe was watching two different teams. Ten days ago, in their first at-bat of the 2015 preseason, the Bucs didn’t look better than they were last year.

SiriusXM NFL Radio dropped by One Buc Palace as part of its annual Training Camp Tour, when a three-hour show is devoted to just one team. Thursday was the Bucs’ turn.

Young Jameis must survive the perils of the mean streets of Tampa. (more…)

Kwon Conquers

Your new Bucs starting MLB.

Your new Bucs starting MLB.

Well, that didn’t take very long, did it?

Less than a day after Lovie Smith crowed that middle linebacker Kwon Alexander played “outstanding” in his first NFL preseason game, Alexander was tagged as the starting MLB until or unless he is beaten out for the job.

And we all know how stingy Lovie is about passing around compliments, right Johnthan Banks? (more…)

Ronde Carrying Lovie’s Water?

Johnthan Banks' defense of a would-be Vikings touchdown apparently wasn't good enough for Lovie Smith, eeerr, Ronde Barber.

Johnthan Banks’ defense of a would-be Vikings touchdown apparently wasn’t good enough for Lovie Smith, eeerr, Ronde Barber.

Joe is freaking fed up with this Mike Jenkins nonsense. For anyone — even the head coach — to suggest to Joe or to Bucs fandom that Jenkins, a first-round bust thrown overboard by both the Cowboys and the rotten Raiders, should be starting over Johnthan Banks is an absolute insult.

What Jenkins has done to deserve Lovie Smith’s undying affection is lost on Joe. Something isn’t right. (more…)
