The big black knee brace on Tristan Wirfs’ right leg today looked ominous.
He didn’t practice and worked away from the team during much of today’s mandatory mincamp practice session.
Todd Bowles says Wirfs will be fine for training camp and this was just a “precautionary” measure and there’s no reason for concern.
Last month, Bowles mentioned that five of seven Bucs missing voluntary OTA practice were banged up. Apparently, Wirfs was one of those guys.

Few Buc rookies have made the immediate impact of the fifth overall pick in the 2005 draft. Williams ran for 434 yards in his first three NFL games, the most prolific start in NFL history for a first-year back. His career was marred by torn patellar tendons in each knee, but he remains fifth all-time in rushing yards and sixth in rushing touchdowns for the Buccaneers.
