Rueben Bain Says “Get Your Popcorn Ready”
June 10th, 2026The Buccaneers’ first-round pick is full of optimism.
In true Rueben Bain fashion, he had just the right things to say after throwing out the first pitch at the Tampa Bay Rays game on Monday.
On the scene was Joe’s friend Rock Riley of WDAE radio. Riley spoke 1-on-1 with Bain, who said he wasn’t really nervous because he had a similar experience in college.
“Down the middle, straight gas,” Bain said of his pitching approach.
Yes, Bain and Riley talked football. The Miami Mauler edge rusehr said what sticks out for him at One Buc Palace is team cameraderie. He said the entire defensive line has been very welcoming to him and all rookies.
Bain also said his new Bucs teammates have impressed him with their focus.
“The next-play mentality. People don’t really dwell on the past,” Bain said when asked about what’s impressed him. “They’re where their feet are.”
The rookie didn’t hesitate to tell fans a special season lies ahead.
“It’s going to be a great year,” Bain said. “Get your popcorn ready. Get your tickets ready.”
Bain was joined at the game with all other Buccaneers rookies.

This is a good one Joe.

Ole Bobby, spoken like a true bucs fan…Meh…i hope u use that phrase after each QB he destroys this year!

Mahomes. $504.75 deal through 2033. over $64M a year.
June 10th, 2026 at 7:32 pm
Thats $504.75 Million !

Alligator arms will have trouble covering WR’s 25 yards downfield.
Bowles is going to wreck this kids abilities to sack the QB.
2026 = Dumpster Fire

Lol! Him and Baker, throw in Gainwell are gonna roll! Saving the Todd’s job and driving the trolls to cardiac arrest! (Hopefully) Go FN Bucs!

This Guy is the Main Reason to be excited about the Bucs this year and changing the culture and improving that Putrid Pass Defense of recent years past. Go Bucs!!
June 10th, 2026 at 8:15 pm
I want to see that young man hit quarterbacks so hard they start seeing ghosts.
I think YaYa’s play will be elevated if Bain can be rough. And if Kancey can stay healthy and if ……Lot of hope here but it’s that time of year.
GO! BUCS! Let’s see the Bucs win their third Super Bowl!

Snotbublers for the knothead!
June 10th, 2026 at 8:38 pm
I saw his first pitch. High and outside at high school speed. Don’t give up your day job.
June 10th, 2026 at 8:40 pm
Playing in the NFL is a whole new level compared to College football. Hopefully he can back it up in the Pros. If he is as good as he claims to be the Bucs should have a big turnaround season. We will know the outcome within the first four games of the season. GO BUCS

@Steve V
I don’t know what snot bubblers are but I am not opposed to seeing a quarterback piss his pants when faced with a Tampa Bay Buccaneer rush.
To quantify that, I don’t want anyone hurt but I DO want every opposing offense to fear our pass rush. A LOT!
June 10th, 2026 at 9:14 pm
Thank you Duane Davis. Was wondering about the pitch, would have thought a journalist would of found out.

There is no game to play yet you dullard.
Man, what a d-bag to get upset at someone not being boring.

The hype is overwhelming. If this guy turns out to be a Bowles Bust then so many of you are going to look foolish.
I am hoping against hope that he performs up to 90% of the hype. If so, you got a star in the making.

No kidding, what he should do is to tell everyone that he hasn’t even made the team yet, so Riley shouldn’t get ahead of himself. Then he should say that he hopes with hard work and some luck that one day perhaps he’ll have a chance to play and then when he does he’ll give it 110%.
Any player who says more than that is a punk in my book, just a show boater who doesn’t understand that the NFL is a business – not entertainment.

People still watch baseball?
June 11th, 2026 at 12:00 am
Love the optimism but how would he know about not dwelling on the last play? He hasn’t played with these guys yet, except Scott.
Keep learning and playing Mr Hardy..uh I mean Mr Bain.
Also..yes, baseball is awful.
June 11th, 2026 at 12:01 am
Bain hasn’t played one down and already has some of you in full panic mode.
That’s usually what happens when a player arrives with confidence, talent, and expectations.
The kid is betting on himself.
His critics are betting against the Bucs.
We’ll see who looks foolish by December.
Joebucsfan, I’m willing to bring true fresh content to this chat, but if you don’t put these trolls in place, this will not become a buccaneers fan forum. It will become a waste of time. I’m sure the ones that speak nonsense are part of other team’s fan base. This is a Tampa Bay Buccaneers die hard forum. If it’s not, I don’t belong here. I expect an answer from you.

LynchMob50,
You sound less like a football fan and more like a guy auditioning for the role of “angry man yelling at clouds.”
Bain hasn’t played a single NFL snap, yet you’ve already convinced yourself Bowles ruined him. That’s impressive. Most people wait for reality before inventing a disaster.
The “25 yards downfield covering WRs” nonsense is especially funny because it tells everyone you heard a talking point and ran with it without understanding what you’re watching.
Every year the same crowd predicts a dumpster fire. Every year when they’re wrong, they disappear faster than a Falcons lead.
At this point, I’m convinced some of you would complain if Bain had 15 sacks because one of them came after lining up somewhere you didn’t approve of.
The season hasn’t started, but your meltdown is already in midseason form.
Lynch mop (definitely not mob) 50 please take Lynch the greatest buccaneer of all time out of your name he would slap the piss out of you. Please be optimistic or leave this forum.
LFG!

In fairness, if you replace WR’s with RB’s, it’s a real concern.
But overall I agree with the annoying crybaby act being put on by people saying we’re all doomed before the season begins. It’s just boring.

The Bowles Regression Process is obviously well on its way.
June 11th, 2026 at 2:30 am
I just wish that he would be humble and if he comments anything at all it should be about making the team, working hard to learn things at the NFL level, and that IF he gets to play that he would give it 100%. I really don’t like to hear anything cocky or showboat from someone who hasn’t proven himself at the NFL level yet.

He has played…underwear football. While it’s not the real thing, it is good enough to get a sense of your teammates.

He was mouthy from the start.

Bain hasn’t taken a single NFL snap and you’re already writing his obituary. That’s clown-level analysis.

Whatever. Sapp was just that himself, I guess it takes one to know one. I’m all in on Bain. Can’t wait to see him devour someone anyone.
