Gamblers Think Bucs Grab Kenyon Sadiq

April 23rd, 2026

Our friends in the desert like Kenyon Sadiq to the Bucs.

Joe read something in a VSiN Twitter feed from a gambling “expert” claiming sportsbooks aren’t fond of the NFL draft because it’s based on information, not math. Sportsbooks prefer math.

Heaven forbid!

That’s what makes the draft awesome, the lack of math!

Show Joe someone that prefers math over drama, intrigue, suspense and emotion and Joe will show you a compete nerd with no life.

You think someone like Frank the Tank gives a damn about math?

So, per Matt Severance of CBS, the non-NFL employees financially invested in the draft believe the Bucs gobble up the best tight end available. That would be the freak from Oregon, Kenyon Sadiq.

How much can a rookie tight end change a team’s offense immediately? Look at the 2025 Bears and Colts. Chicago took Colston Loveland at No. 10 overall and Indianapolis grabbed Tyler Warren at No. 14. No chance my Bears win the NFC Central without Loveland emerging as Caleb Williams’ primary target in the second half of the season. Loveland became so valuable in the passing game it made semi-overpriced wideout DJ Moore expendable, and he was traded to Buffalo for draft picks (and cap space). …

The favorites to be the team to select Sadiq are the Bucs (+300), Panthers (+310), Ravens (+425), Eagles (+650) and Rams (+750). The CBS Sports mock drafts are all over the place with him, but the earliest I’ve seen among those is to Baltimore at 14, one spot after the Rams. That the Ravens use their first pick on a tight end is +425 and that the Rams do is +750. …

Sadiq’s Over/Under draft spot is 15.5, with the Under at -150. Tampa Bay sits 15th. With the re-signing of starter Cade Otton and reserve Ko Kieft, the Bucs’ 2025 tight end group is back intact so that might not be the prevailing need at No. 15, but no one on the roster compares to Sadiq as a pass-catcher. Tampa Bay reportedly brought in six tight ends for official visits prior to the draft and formally interviewed seven of them at the Combine.

Joe has long maintained the only hole on the Bucs offense is a tight end who can consistently go deep, stretch the field and put the fear of God into defenses.

While Joe is fully on board if Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager wants to trade back and pick Ohio State defensive tackle Kayden McDonald, man, it would be fun to have Sadiq.

The Bucs are maybe one player like Sadiq away from having a complete offense. The Bucs need probably four players just to have an adequate defense. So why not just go the easy route to save Todd Bowles’ job and outscore everyone in a shootout?

That is, if Licht doesn’t trade down.

JL, please draft Him if He is there at 15! Please!!!!

  2. 3.28.Evans Says:

“ save Todd Bowles’ job “

Maybe that’s possible in some reality, but the sample size is large enough to know who and what Bowles is, and like Lovie Smith, his performance is only declining at an accelerating rate. It will take a quantum miracle.

  3. Fanofdabucs Says:

If they draft Sadiq I will be surprised. Not shocked, but surprised.

The defense will always be 4-5 players away until they address that unit. Not with middling talent, but with play makers like Lawrence and Rodriguez.

I dont really get the MacDonald love. This is a really bad draft for DTs, so you’re basically getting the best of a bad group. The Bucs have run stuffers in Vita, Robinson, Roberts. This defense this sooo much better when they have a DT that can get after the QB like Kancey. Just look at their pts/game and average yards given up with Kancey in the line up. If they draft a DT, it needs to be someone with similar skill set as Kancey, not another Nose tackle.

  4. BuccaDawg Says:

The TE may be the best available player but I wish the ole Rock Star GM would try to do the best for the TEAM. Draft Defense, I would like him to hire a DC & change to a more aggressive scheme but thats not gonna happen. But he hopefully will go against his ego & pick a Defensive player at 15 or better yet trade down for more picks. Personally i hope he takes Allen but I’d like to see the Bucs draft any DAWG Defensive players Kirby has them pro ready.

  5. Ash Says:

    Yuck

  6. Todd Says:

I’d do a back flip if we drafted Sadiq.

And I’m not built to do a back flip.

  7. Lakeland Says:

Jason Licht need to draft players that will help them win NOW

    Not tomorrow, not next year

Kenyon Sadiq wouldn’t be a bad pick
If they use him right, he’s an upgrade over Otton

  8. Sal Volatile Says:

jason just might pick Sadiq in hopes of keeping

    baker

  9. Ash Says:

I don’t think they will draft him anyway but hopefully Baltimore drafts him to solidify that.

  10. Stanglassman Says:

I love this TE class. The Bucs should take advantage of the value and draft one in day 3. My money would be on them NOT taking one with their 1st pick.

  11. Ha-Ha-Ha Says:

Lack of size and poor route running skills are the knock against him.
Oscar Delp isn’t the same caliber of prospect that Brock Bowers was for Georgia two cycles ago, but Delp nevertheless has tantalizing athletic upside and early-round appeal in the coming 2026 NFL Draft. Standing around 6’5″, 245 pounds, Delp caught 21 passes for 248 yards and 4 TDs in 2024, then added a career-high 261 yards in 2025. The production doesn’t excite, but Delp remained a steady presence in spite of the Bulldogs’ up-and-down passing game.

Through the air, he’s showcased his explosive RAC element, ability to stem and decelerate on quick curls, and find soft spots in zone coverage. In addition to his serviceable receiving utility, Delp is a truly elite two-phase blocking TE who can operate in-line, on the move as a puller and lead blocker, and protect the QB on passing downs. He’s a schematic cheat code with supercharged athleticism to mold, and in short order, he could be an impact two-phase starter.

  12. Fanofdabucs Says:

If Ozzie Newsome passes on Sadiq at 14, I think that’s telling. The Ravens have a big need at TE with Likely and Kolar leaving in FA. Ozzie is not only a great talent evaluator, he knows TEs.

  13. buc4evr Says:

Wouldn’t be surprised if Licht decides to draft Sadiq or Ioane but hope it’s a smokescreen for Mesidor. Would like to see Bucs trade down with Philly.

  14. Ballwasher61 Says:

How about a back roll? Never mind, got a few of those now, LOL.

  15. KABucs Says:

    Sal…
    Solid point.

Regardless, will be fun tonight. Love it when the team makes a knucklehead move and all the announcers act like it was a good move and show all the highlights and everything.

Wish they would just say ” WTH are the Jets/Browns/Panthers thinking??!! Awful! Terrible!”
That would be more fun IMO.

  16. Ballwasher61 Says:

I believe if they stay they take a high grade O-lineman unless someone slips to them.

  17. Woodman Says:

Haha what are you his agent?

  18. Smoke Porterhouse Says:

Look up the last 10 Tight Ends taken in the 1st Round, and tell me the percentage who didn’t live up to their draft status. I’m not saying they were total busts, but most of them played like 3rd to 4th Round picks.

  19. Tampa2ATL Says:

Can’t be a smokescreen for Mesidor because if we don’t take Mesidor – he’ll drop like a rock. Just one man’s opinion.

  20. Tampa2ATL Says:

Some think that first round linebackers frequently bust. The combination of questioning positional value, reluctance to invest in second contracts, and historical performance trends contributes to the belief that first-round linebackers frequently bust in the NFL.

  21. Tampa2ATL Says:

Actually, how many first rounders bust at all positions? (blowing on dice)

  22. Oregon Buc Says:

Been hearing some rumblings that Mayfield might be low key on the move. Kinda makes sense since he’s been MIA all offseason. Didn’t show up to Lavonte retirement conference and no comment on Evans leaving. No show at pre draft presser. Odds on us drafting Ty Simpson are tied for 6th lowest on DraftKings. I damn sure hope not, but might be something there.

  23. LynchMob50 Says:

If we had a clutch QB, I would say go for it. Fact is we do not have that QB.

You could draft Sadiq, a top shelf WR, a stud OL prospect, and a solid RB.

None of it would matter one bit. We’ve seen Baker at his best and that was 10 wins and a playoff bust. Hard pass.

Build the trenches and work your way out.

DE, LB, DT, CB. Then grab a TE, OL, WR. Licht needs to save his job.

Bowles is one foot out the door.

  24. Nicholas Carlson Says:

What do you mean “go deep”?

Have you looked at his college production? He didn’t go deep. His YPR were 10. His yards per game were 40. His long for the year was 30.

  25. BucsFan81 Says:

We already seen how that played out when we drafted OJ Howard in the first round. Whoever they draft they need to really nail it. Especially this draft with Evans and David gone we need talent especially on defense.

  26. JimBobBuc Says:

I don’t see Sadiq getting past Baltimore, but Licht could pick him and trade Otton immediately for some more defensive draft picks.

  27. Bucfan1988 Says:

Gamblers gonna be losing lots of $$ tonite cuz there’s no way Sadiq is the pick!!

That would be an utter MORONIC STUPID move period!!!!

Your defense is pure crap and you considering drafting a TE 1st round?? You can’t afford that luxury if you wanna be around next season…

    FIX THE FREAKEN DEFENSE!!!!!

  28. BigD Says:

It would be would be “an utter MORONIC STUPID move period!!!!”, that I wouldn’t be at all surprised for Licht to do.

  29. Rod Munch Says:

Getting Sadiq is not the move I’d make, but I wouldn’t complain about it either. Just like last year, e2 was certainly not the move 99.99% of people in here would have made, but it turned out to be a great move.

Anywho, outside of a true offensive tackle (meaning they aren’t moving to guard), quarterback or kicker, I don’t think any other position should be off the board.

  30. Erik with UniqueModernArt.com Says:

CAN’T PASS ON SADIQ IF HE’S THERE AT 15, but I don’t think he will be.

    He ran a freakin 4.39 40 at 245lbs.

    Fastest TE in NFL history.

  31. Rod Munch Says:

Actually Vernon Davis ran a 4.38 at 254 pounds.

Also, Sadiq’s weight for the combine was 241.

Sadiq still had an amazing workout, but just being factual, not bashing him.
