NFL.com Report: Big Trade Market Expected For Bucs’ No. 15 Overall Pick

NFL Network year-round draft guru Daniel Jeremiah, the former Eagles, Browns and Ravens scouts, has great relationships around the NFL and is well-liked and respected. The former college quarterback issued his final mock draft this morning and had big news for Bucs fans.

Jeremiah expects teams will be pounding the door down for the Bucs’ No. 15 overall pick.

On the recent Ira Kaufman Podcast (Part II of the draft extravaganza), Joe pressed draft guru Sean Sullivan on the likelihood of the Eagles chasing the Bucs pick at No. 15 — and handing them Philadelphia’s No. 23 overall pick and later selections.

Jeremiah predicts the Eagles will do just that.

PROJECTED TRADE WITH BUCCANEERS

I’m expecting a big trade market for the 16th overall pick, with teams looking to move ahead of the Lions for an offensive tackle. The Eagles trade up one spot higher to beat the competition for Proctor.

The fun part is Jeremiah thinks the Bucs can still draft University of Miami edge rusher Akheem Mesidor — and will — at No. 23 overall.

Is it 8 p.m. yet?

  1. Scott Says:

I hope he does not share it to pick away for pennies on the dollar

  2. Buddha Says:

They need to get to 19 or 20 to get Mesidor.

  3. Lakeland Says:

I really think that Akheem Mesidor is the Bucs target
    I’m almost sure of it

  4. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I think the Bucs will surprise us with their pick, freaking everyone out.

  5. Lt. Dan Says:

Trade back. McDonald from Ohio State, Thomas from Oklahoma, Ponds from Indiana for the nickel spot when Parrish gets moved outside.

Whatever happens, I hope it works out ! A difference maker please!!!!!!

  7. Allen Lofton Says:

    Finally it’s NFL DRAFT NIGHT!!!

  8. DS Says:

    Draft a difference maker

How is this fun? It’s not even Joe Izsuzu fun as long as Todd Bowles is the DC of this Tampa Bay Buccaneer football team!!!!

  10. Fanofdabucs Says:

The more I hear 80% of these mocks having the Bucs take Mesidor the more I think he’s not the pick. Rarely does JLs first round picks lineup with the consensus.

I think a trade down is likely. But I think they go Lawrence or Ioane after they trade down.

Wildcard would be J Rodriguez after a trade down.

JL usually throws all these experts a curveball.

  11. PowerOfPewter Says:

If the Bucs don’t bigly upgrade their pass rush on days 1&2, this season will play out similar to last. The silver lining being Licht and Bowles being shown the door.

  12. football 1 Says:

It sure seems all the talk is Mesidor either at 15 or trading down. So you definately have to wonder if the Bucs do something unexpected. I would not be unhappy to see them take the best LB or corner with that pic over an edge guy. Sorry , I just don’t have much hope of them drafting well at that position. I mean not since 1976, man. On the other hand sonner or later it has to happen I guess. I don’t know if Mesidor is all they say he is then ok, go get him.

  13. Bejeezusbelt Says:

Just draft Shadiq already. Can’t remember the last time the Bucs out scored a team and lost. Well I take that back week 18 last year we out scored the Panthers and it cost us about 5 spots in the draft. This defense is bad with Bowles as DC one draft can’t fix. Honestly I don’t know how many drafts it would take to fix it, at least with Bowles as coach. But he is the head coach so go Bowles, I hope you have finally pulled your head out of back side where it has been since you won the superbowl as DC.

  14. Scott Says:

If that OT is so good why not just get him? Contracts are coming up and you can’t pay everyone on the line.

  15. ocala Says:

Draft the Penn State Guard and turn the OLine into arguably the best in the NFL. Bredeson as a backup would solidify it that much more.

  16. Obvious Says:

This would be ideal especially if the market for #15 is so competitive that you might be able to get a ‘27 second round and ‘26 third round for it.

I actually wouldn’t be hesitant to trade back into the #33-#42 range if a team wants to move up and get Simpson (looking at az), for a ‘27 first and also snagging Rodriguez

  17. JimBobBuc Says:

Pick Sadiq at 15, and immediately trade Otton for a couple picks. Which picks would we get for Otton?

Trade the bored McCollum for any pick above 5th. He was a 5th round pick, so Licht should be able to sign a CB by round 5 that won’t be bored and sleepy.

  18. buc4evr Says:

Think the Bucs can trade with Philly and still get Mesidor at 20. Hope Jason can get another #2 for the trade down?

  19. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I prefer no trades. Stay were we are and take the best player at a position of need.

It’s not about quantity, its about quality.

  20. 3.28.Evans Says:

Whatever time it is, the cocktails are tasting good already.

  21. Bee Says:

Don’t draft a reciever or give up any picks for next year’s draft and I’m cool.

  22. Let em bake Says:

They trade up . Get Sonny styles. Giants get jmac, our 15th pick. And our 3 round pick.
