High energy, relatively low risk, positions of need, with familiarity sprinkled in. Biggest name being Gainwell. I’d probably give it a B or so, but Mike Evans (WANTING TO) leaving is a huge blow against the free agency class and a deep scar on this franchise overall.
Idk Joe’s- are the Bucs a better team? Probably not, but with a competent offensive coordinator and healthy offensive line, I think this team will surprise some people. They didn’t play terrible without Evans and Jamel Dean wasn’t necessarily a full time player. I’m not saying they’re making it to LA in February, but I think they can make some noise.
You don’t build a team in free agency. You build through the draft. Good veteran additions to mentor the young defensive players. Good on JL not making emotional decisions and keeping to the long term plan.
The WR didn’t wanna to be here, the corner was injured (again) in the most important time of the year.
There was not much the front office could do for those two.
I really want a premium EDGE and another veteran LB, maybe a CB, but I guess it’s a good free agency so far
Wow Mike, if this is true? You’ve become very jaded since the hu

An being I met at One Buc in 2014 training camp
Will still pay for you, and wish you luck. But will absolutely BEAT THE BRAKES OFF YOU AND THE 9’ER-S IN THE 2026 NFC CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 🏆😎
CORRECTION.

Yall have to stop comparing this Bucs team to the SB winning teams. Different HCs plus a roster filled with HoFers makes them incomparable. That 2020 team had a QB and HC that were winners, this team definitely doesn’t have that.
The Bucs did what I said they’d do and thats get average and cheap players due to ownership not letting Licht waste more money. The Bucs won’t get any more FAs and if they do they’ll be for cheap, 1-yr deals.
kenny g very good pick . losing evans and dean and izien, addressing the biggest need edge with a rotational player , signing 3 defensive players over 30, all the players signed were replacements no depth added to the team. i cant give ozemplicht a good grade even though he is reigned in by the glazers. this seasons free agency was his in the makings the past 5 years with poor drafts
It depends on what the expectations are. I give an A not because I think they added elite talent. It’s the moves they didn’t make that I’m pleased with:
Not overpaying for otten
Not keeping dean
Not trading several first round picks for Crosby
Not going 4 years for Hendrickson
Picking up three bridge stop gaps on defense and a good backup rb on short term deals
That’s perfectly fine with me and sets us up for ‘27.
“Yall have to stop comparing this Bucs team to the SB winning teams.”
It’s not a comparison of the team, just pointing out how the offseason team building part of the game develops over team.
Relax, just pointing out the fact we kept going out for talent well into the summer isn’t a direct comparison to this years team.
Though, it does prove the point that grading a teams accusations in March is litereally the offseason in its’ infancy.
Why do ya’ll love making things people see, mean stuff they didn’t necessarily say?
Could say something as simple as “I don’t like Waffles” and somebody will come a long and say how much you love pancakes based off your sentiment about waffles, it’s a weird internet thing.
While I admire the rose colored glasses view of things, this is a disaster of an offseason.
The Bucs sign a couple of old LB’s from the Lions that they didn’t want anymore, meanwhile lose their best corner and best offensive player in team history – a first ballot HOF’er – and people think that’s a C?

I can’t see how it’s higher than a C and it starts with keeping Bowles. Lackluster all the way around.

Way too early to call it.
In 2020 we didn’t even have Lenny, AB, Wirfs, or Winfield jr at this point of the offseason

I am not optimistic about the Bucs 2026 season.

Actually I’d give them a Solid B they Upgraded at RB , LB an DL an ST with KillBrew yes We Lost Evans But the Bucs have a Great Group of WR

What in the world did the Bucs do to deserve a C?
This is an F of an offseason as you can get outside of a rebuilding year.
