“The Offense Is Broken”
October 7th, 2026
Buck stops with Todd Bowles.
So ESPN is having fun with words with their NFL beat reporters this week.
And Bucs beat reporter for ESPN, Jenna Laine, believes four letters is more appropriate.
The editors at ESPN tasked their reporters to come up with four words that describe the team they cover. Laine had an interesting take.
A four-letter word might be more appropriate than a four-word phrase here — that’s the brutally honest truth for a team that has completely failed. The Bucs’ offensive struggles from last season have worsened, both with and without injured quarterback Baker Mayfield (dislocated right thumb). Despite being a top-five defense in offensive points scored (seven touchdowns allowed in four games) and yardage (282.75), the Bucs have allowed 40 points off turnovers (most in the league). It’s all about those turnovers.
So what were the four words, not letters, that Laine chose?
“The offense is broken.”
That’s no lie. Not only has the offense been in a rut since Week 1, it’s getting worse. Since Week 1, the Bucs have scored fewer and fewer points every game!
If this continues tomorrow when the Bucs visit the Cowboys, and the Bucs lose, it would not shock Joe whatsoever if, with a mini-bye week, Zac Robinson could get tossed off the pirate ship as a scapegoat.
If the Bucs go to 0-5 to stretch their dismal record dating back to last year at 2-12, people are going to start trying to save their arses and KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles could run Robinson in a last-ditch effort to keep his gig for the 2027 season.

October 7th, 2026 at 7:07 am
The organization is broken from ownership, to the last player on this roster. More importantly, the fan base is broken. Broken hearted at what this broken franchise has become.
October 7th, 2026 at 7:08 am
Welp…wish not granted…Bowles is still Tampa’s coach and DC.
October 7th, 2026 at 7:11 am
Overall, the Washington Generals lost to the Harlem Globetrotters more than 16,000 times in their combined history while winning a mere 3 to 6 games.
The Bucs are slightly but only slightly better than this
October 7th, 2026 at 7:15 am
These owners are repulsive, the coach is a joke and the players want to be traded.
October 7th, 2026 at 7:21 am
The whole organization is broken.
October 7th, 2026 at 7:23 am
Wish I could say that when the Yucs get slapped around by the Cowboys, the Glazier’s would get rid of TB…but alas! And I think a lot of that decision is about $$
Fans aren’t the equation!
October 7th, 2026 at 7:26 am
In the NFL’s weakest division ( by far), the other teams have replaced coaches and GMs in an effort to improve. Only Buc’s ownership appears content to retain a sub .500 Head Coach and GM. Buc’s fans naturally expect better results.
October 7th, 2026 at 7:30 am
Oddly enough I’m in DFW for work this week. I won’t torture myself going to the game but I’ll see what I can do to have the plane leave without Licht and Bowles late Thursday night.
October 7th, 2026 at 7:32 am
I was afraid of this. Zac’s ATL offense last year was obviously underperforming compared to how the Falcons played this Saints this past week.
Bad hire Todd. Two in a row.
And Zac might be worse than Grizz.
The Bucs are going to get boat raced by the Cowboys.
Embarrassed on national TV. Great. More justification for the national press to trash the Bucs
October 7th, 2026 at 7:32 am
“Despite being a top-five defense in offensive points scored (seven touchdowns allowed in four games) and yardage (282.75), the Bucs have allowed 40 points off turnovers (most in the league). It’s all about those turnovers.”
Nah, the turnovers are alright because everybody turns the ball over and it’s up to the defense to save the day. May be time they start scoring points too.
October 7th, 2026 at 7:33 am
Firing Robinson may sound like an answer, until you look behind him. Who else on this coaching staff has any experience putting together game plans and calling plays?
Robinson’s not great, but whoever’s in 2nd place is not gonna be any better. The fact is that our OLine is horrible, our WRs are barely getting any separation & seem to drop far too many, our TE (we only really have one) is grossly over-used, our RBs are all carbon-copies of each other at 5’9″ & 200 lbs, and our QBs are having to deal with all that once the ball is snapped.
Jenna nailed it … “The offense is broken.”
October 7th, 2026 at 7:38 am
how about “bucs stop with bowles” as the corrected caption.
bowles needs to be the next coach out the door. period.
October 7th, 2026 at 7:46 am
We can say the defense is playing a lot better than the offense
But, at the same time, we have had the same defensive scheme for 7 years
And we have had 5 different offensive schemes in 5 year
A different OC, different scheme for 5 consecutive years
That’s a whole lot for these offensive players to adapt to
Especially with the minimum work during the pre season
I don’t believe there’s another offense in the NFL with less stability
We flipped Josh Grizzard for Zac Robinson
But I believe it was a huge mistake by Bowles and Licht
Josh scheme was working until the injuries
And l believe the players were more comfortable in a familiar schene
October 7th, 2026 at 7:52 am
How about replacing Bowles with Bridgewater, at least Teddy catch teach at a high school level.
October 7th, 2026 at 7:56 am
You da head coach… coach!
Who the ef is keeping this cancer on the property!
October 7th, 2026 at 7:56 am
There’s a lot of young players on our offense
And most of them have had to learn a new scheme every year of their NFL career
That’s a whole lot of added pressure on these young players
Every year, a new system in place, that’s a lot to digest
October 7th, 2026 at 8:04 am
I swear, it’s getting to the point now that every time I see TB face…I throw up a little in my mouth…lol
He needs to resign!
October 7th, 2026 at 8:05 am
Ask Chucky if he would like to come in and turn around the offense with a look to the future……….. wink wink nod nod
October 7th, 2026 at 8:06 am
All this flip -flopping slows a young player development
October 7th, 2026 at 8:12 am
Show Todd the door.
October 7th, 2026 at 8:18 am
Point to Bucs defensive ranking is lazy and beyond misleading. Cleveland, Minnesota and Green Bay (along with Tampa) have far and away the very most dreadful offenses in the league. Green Bay’s offensive line in particular has the worst pass block win rate in the league and they still couldn’t get a sack. Dallas will be the truth serum in 2 ways: 1. Their defense is pathetic. Every dumb football fans go-to move for the past 800 years is to act like the backup quarterback will be the savior because they don’t like the starter. Jalon Daniels is clearly an eyesore to watch, but on the eyes of others he’s their lord and savior because he isn’t Baker (hi Rod, you fat slob.) He should play well against Dallas right? RIIIIGHT? 2. Dak is going to throw for 350 and 4 touchdowns. Have a nice day
October 7th, 2026 at 8:27 am
Dallas D gives up 144 yards per game on the ground. It might be over, but if the Bucs cant run on that, its really really over.
October 7th, 2026 at 8:29 am
But…but…but…as long as they are healthy….
October 7th, 2026 at 8:33 am
If we get a on a win streak from now through November 1st against falcons we can be in first place in the division. A guy can dream right
October 7th, 2026 at 8:44 am
The Bucs play Atlanta for the first time on November 1.
Baker should be back by then.
Remember this? “Failed is quite the reach pal. Still waiting on a text/call from him (Stefanski) after I got shipped off (from Cleveland) like a piece of garbage. Can’t wait to see you twice a year, Coach.”
Sometimes you should know when to just shut up. Baker’s statement will be bulletin board material for Stefanski and the Falcons.
As if this “broken” offense didn’t have enough problems.
October 7th, 2026 at 8:47 am
You have to be blind to see that the defense is vastly improved. They are ranked 9th in DVOA. This is all on the offense and turnovers. A coach who gets fired for poor performance is not a scapegoat. He is simply a failure.
October 7th, 2026 at 8:52 am
The Zak Attack Prevent Offense will go down in Buc history/follies…joining Greggy Schiano’s camel toes in the line/diving at victory formations and Mike Smith’s record setting ( in an awful way ) matador/free passing zones so called defense.
October 7th, 2026 at 8:53 am
Fire Zac after Dallas
Fire Bowles after our official BYE
Hire CHRIS SHULA
GO BUCS!!!!!
October 7th, 2026 at 8:56 am
Why fire the OC at this point? At 0-5 just keep moving towards a top draft pick and moving on from Bowles. Firing the OC isn’t going to change the fans perception of Bowles. Fire Bowles and maybe fans show interest in whoever takes over for at least a few weeks but the season is done, Rays are winning, Lightning are back, USF is 4-1…..there’s better products elsewhere for people to spend their money. Glazers wanted to hitch their wagon to Bowles so they can enjoy the dumpster fire from their suite, the rest of us will tune in to better entertainment elsewhere but firing the OC isn’t going to salvage fan support. If anything it just shows how absolutely out of tune they are with both football and their fans.

Todd Bowles firing OC Robinson will not save his job in January if the Bucs fail to make the playoffs.
It will all come down to finding the right HC. EXPECT A BIG HOUSE CLEANING!

Why fire the OC at this point?
Simple!!!!!
Zac wont start putting up points until DEC lol….at that point, we could go from having a top 5 draft pick to drafting outside the top10….thats the exact type of thing todd and zac would do to screw us one last time lol…
Zac did that to ATL last year lol…
falcons were 4-9 when they played us on thursday night holding a top5 pick….then they won 4 in a row lol
GO BUCS!!!!!
October 7th, 2026 at 9:04 am
Fire Robinson and promote Chandler Whitmer to O.C.
He’s considered an up and comer.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:05 am
Sure. Let’s give Todd another life line. What’s the worst that could happen?
Are they going to let him be the HC\DC\OC??? Isn’t that what was tried after the bye week last season? Bowles admitted to overseeing the offense.
I can’t imagine that anyone would still open the door to a return of Bowles in 2027. Only a mad man would do so.
The pirate ship has broken on the rocks. It’s sinking and the sharks are circling.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:06 am
but 0 sacks against the make shift GB line last week isn’t a problem I guess. All this loser does is blame everyone else, yet his defensive scheme is ancient and trash. This is the guy that got to fire everyone last year, yet his defense still sucks out loud!
October 7th, 2026 at 9:14 am
“Green Bay’s offensive line in particular has the worst pass block win rate in the league and they still couldn’t get a sack.”
Yes, because a QB finishing a game averaging 2.17 seconds time to throw per drop back is prime conditions to generate a pass rush against. Sacks don’t put points on the board, and we’re coming off a game we allowed 17 points but your dumbass felt the need to come in here and “whatabout the defense”. Can’t stay on topic, but you can still mention Rod because you have sacks on your mind in more ways than just the football field. What a chooch.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:15 am
The Cowboys, on offense, are a worse running team than the Packers and even though Dak is a very good quarterback, the passing stats, although good, aren’t other worldly. Their defense against the run is 31st in yards allowed and 27th in yards per attempt allowed. Against the pass, they are 30th in yards per attempt allowed and completion percentage, and last in passer rating allowed at 122.7 and 31st in sacks. We have a much better chance to win than people think. We might just ambush them! At the least, this should be another close game.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:19 am
The Bucs are broken.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:30 am
CEE DEE Lamb-15 catches 275 yards, 3 td’s I feel it coming!!! LOL. Lets start fresh look at Harbough with the Giants, they were terrible last year. Call Flores, Tomlin or McDermott should do the trick!! Go Bucs
October 7th, 2026 at 9:34 am
Mike didn’t just walk away…he ran
Saw the writing on the wall.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:35 am
The Rooney Rule got us to where we are with Todd Bowles. It’s unfortunate because he was a great defensive mind but lost his marbles when he had to start doing head coaching too. He never succeeded with the Jets what would make anyone think he would succeed with the Bucs? No one will remember anything but his last 2 years at One Buc Place. Unfortunate. Get him out of here.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:39 am
You having a complete stranger on your mind at 8:18am is diabolically pathetic and tells me you’re lonely. Did you even make your bed and brush teeth before Rod entered your mind or did you just keep it intimate thinking about him while you’re still in bed? Find another outlet for that freaky ass behavior man, stop exposing us to this weird infatuation w/a dude who calls himself Rod Munch.
Pathetic & beneath.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:41 am
813, I’d be okay with Shula. In fact, he was on my short list last year too. Incumbent upon that would be the hiring of a good offensive coordinator. Obviously. Of course, none of this would happen until after the season. Not sure if you were implying an in-season hire, but for many obvious reasons that just isn’t going to happen.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:44 am
Go for the face, yes, just imagine what this okay. Defense would be like with a pass rush!? Seriously. If we could actually generate pressure our defense would go from just about. Good to very good. Once we make the necessary changes, I hope the media asks some hard questions to the new regime about things like the value of a pass rush. And it has nothing to do with backers occasionally dropping. They do that in every defense. It has more to do with the general scheme. Ruben Bain should not be a stand-up linebacker. He needs to be a hand in the dirt defensive end. Those guys drop far less than outside backers. I’m just scratching the surface here of course. But it’s scheme as much as anything else.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:48 am
It’s clear Zac is doing what Todd wants, and there are some great signs. No need to panic, be calm like Todd.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:49 am
Hodad ownership is broken…… same ownership that made BIG off-season moves to get the team Two superbowls…… think you have that confused with the Jets, Browns, Arizona, Minnesota, Las Vegas, hell Dallas and the 49era this century, BUC FAN = Spoiled smfh. Do you have any idea how many fans would Love to have 2 superbowls this century??? Stfu can’t be on top forever.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:52 am
Don’t fire anyone!! Keep this train rolling to the number one overall pick.
That may be the only nugget that could help land a good HC candidate. Give full autonomy to do what the want with that pick. Whether that is drafting their guy at QB or drafting the pick for a hull of picks.
October 7th, 2026 at 9:54 am
In the last 16 games the offense has failed to produce a 400 yard game. Last time was the win over Seattle last year.
In the past 11 games the offense has failed to score more than 20 points. The last time the offense exceeded 20, was when we scored 28 against the Falcons, last December in the 3rd and 28 game.
And don’t drink any of that Kool Aid Defense has looked good lately stuff. The 1st 4 games we haven’t exactly been playing the greatest show on turf type of teams. Collectively all 4 opponent offenses are ranked 21st in points and 21st in yards. None of those 4 teams are currently top 10 offenses. Closest is Cincy, ranked 14 in points and 11 in yards. Our run defense is legit, but who needs to run when you can YAC the crap out of them (currently we are the 2nd worst team in Yards after Catch allowed).

Shula HC and Josh McCown OC would make a great combo imo…
Heck Josh McCown would probably be on my list as HC candidates…look at what he’s done since being with the Vikes…won games with Cousins….won games with Sam…he’s winning with Kyler…yes Kevin O’connel has a ton to do with the vikes winning but im sure Josh has learned a ton under him

October 7th, 2026 at 10:13 am
Changing HC, DC AND OC mid- season is too much turmoil. One might ask what difference does it make if you are playing for the draft. The problem is the impact on the players. Between having to learn new schemes, being coached by temporary coaches who do not know how to position them to play to their strengths, frustration over clueless coaches that don’t know what they’re doing, and growing bitterness toward the organization for driving their market value down.
You need some kind of a core to rebuild around. What kind of a core would you be left with if the entire roster wants out? And what self respecting FA would consider coming to Tampa?
That said, Zac the Hack should be launched during the mini bye. He has proven to be clueless. This offense is so bad that it can only improve with an interim OC.
Bowels an Licht do need to be launched , but do it after the season.
October 7th, 2026 at 10:15 am
Overly optimistic:
Apparently McLaughlin is injured…perhaps why the Bucs didn’t try a game tying 65 yard FG.
October 7th, 2026 at 10:19 am
Everyone has complaints about specific things the defense could/should do better, but the bottom line is their job is to prevent points against, and they’re getting the job done. I’d probably demote Bowles to DC and hire a new, offensive-minded HC.
October 7th, 2026 at 10:20 am
“Zac Robinson could get tossed off the pirate ship as a scapegoat”
Scapegoat?? How?? He is the offensive coordinator, the offense not done its job. He should be fired because he is not doing his job no scapegoating about it.
He has not delivered no where close to an offense that looks like it is based off of McVay’s or Coen’s offenses.
What ever this offense is he is running he also has no idea how to call it.
October 7th, 2026 at 10:22 am
Jug2: I want a young mistress and a Ferrari, but somehow nobody is giving them to me. Bowles is responsible for his hiring decisions, full stop. Unless the Glazers overrode him, in which case it’s their bag. In no world is Baker responsible for the OC.

Sorry, jug2, that last message should have been addressed to ryan.

This team has played the Vikings the browns and the packers settle down with this defense is good it isn’t this team is bad on both sides of the ball two quarterback hits on the packers with that oline they pieced together from the dumpster just stop.
October 7th, 2026 at 10:46 am
It’s pathetic how much some bigots just look for websites where any person of color struggles and decides to hop on to share their bigoted opinion.
I was a Todd fan, but even I think he might have run his course here and needs to go.
But for goodness sake, when even Mrs. Laine says the team has a top 5 defense yet the offense is what is holding the team back, it washes over some people who have selective reading.
Bowles got this job because he won us a CHAMPIONSHIP as a coordinator and deserved his shot when Bruce resigned after probably being tired of Brady’s nonsense.
If Monte ever wanted an NFL HC job, we wouldn’t ridicule him.
Bowles, while ultimately failing in New Jersey, is the last HC there in 25 years to win 10 games.
I think his last two OC hires, as well as this year is what will fail him.
But seriously, DEI? Rooney Rule? You make society worse with your vitriol. Even saying he was a defensive mastermind back in his DC days is a slap in the face in a “No offense” kind of way.
October 7th, 2026 at 11:12 am
For once the defense has held up there end. Y’all can hate all you want but the fact is the defense is playing fam good football considering not just all the turnovers but look at all the 3 and outs and how much the defense has bin on the field. It’s night and day with the defense. It isn’t perfect as we still see some guys wide open and that’s more so players not executing. The defense for year has bin the reason we have lost games and done poorly. That’s not the case this season. If you fire Robinson who replaces him ? Does it get worse ?
October 7th, 2026 at 11:13 am
Over the last three weeks, the Cowboys lead the league with 34 points per game, while Bowles’ Bucs rank 29th with 16.3 points per game in that same span.
Final score 31-14 just like Brady’s Last Game
October 7th, 2026 at 11:44 am
“This team has played the Vikings the browns and the packers settle down with this defense is good it isn’t this team is bad on both sides of the ball two quarterback hits on the packers with that oline they pieced together from the dumpster just stop.”
This defense has also played with an offense that leads the league in turnovers with 9 total and is the reason we’re -5 in turnover margin in only 4 games.
This defense is also playing with an offense that is worst in the league in terms of EPA -39.58 meaning the offense does more helping opposing defenses beat them than they do putting up positive reps and/or moving the chains.
21 turnovers in our last 13 games going back to week 8 of last year and ya’ll in here but, but butting the defense lol wtf wrong with ya’ll as fans of the game?

Defense. Offense. Special teams. Something is ALWAYS broken with this team. ALWAYS. When was the last time this TEAM played complementary football? Does this organization even know what that means?
Enough with all the friggin excuses and scapegoats already. Bottom line is ownership has no clue. They rely on “football people” like BA and JL. They have been completed duped, are misguided and ALL of them are delusional. And this is the absolutely worst coached team in the NFL… by a mile.
The defense is gonna get slammed tomorrow night. When are you people gonna realize that THIS ENTIRE ORGANIZATION IS BROKEN.
October 7th, 2026 at 12:15 pm

“we’re coming off a game we allowed 17 points but your dumbass felt the need to come in here and “whatabout the defense”. “
Exactly. Every time, I hear someone crying about this Defense. Hmmmm… And, WHO again, said throughout all of this off-season, that you people better be worried about THIS OFFENSE. That, it’s THE OFFENSE. That, I’m not worried about the Defense… That, t’ll be good enough to at least keep them in games. That, THE OFFENSE is the biggest problem. And, you know WHY that is!? It’s because, of THIS ROSTER. Everybody talking about THIS “WR-room” as being LOADED, and all that garbage. It’s being DELUSIONAL. It’s not reality. I mean, THIS “WR-room” is NOT EVEN CLOSE to being a Top-20 group. Neither, is the RB-room, OR the TE-room. And, THIS “great” O-Line, is only an AVERAGE group. We don’t have a TOP-20 “QB-room,” EITHER. And, THIS entire roster overall, is right there at the BOTTOM of the LEAGUE, with the Dolphins, Titans, Cards, and Chargers. You could probably, make an argument when comparing it ‘top-to-bottom’ overall, with maybe the Jets, Saints, and Washington, but that’s about IT. Pittsburgh’s is probably BETTER. That’s IT. Bottomline, PERIOD. End of Story. BOTTOM 8-9, at BEST. It’s a TRASH ROSTER. And, get THIS… Are also SCREWED cap-wise, with NO END in sight. So, WHO is responsible… WHO got us here!? I’ll let YOU figure-it out.
October 7th, 2026 at 1:52 pm
Is BA still on the payroll? Fire Zach Robinson and tell BA he is the new OC and to get his red pen ready. In all honesty this season is cooked and tomorrow will be a blow out 42-10 is my guess
October 7th, 2026 at 1:52 pm
Off with his head already!!! Moving on
October 7th, 2026 at 1:57 pm
And, WHO said that as long as they are healthy (especially with Penix), that ATL was an ELITE Offense. That, NO ONE had more TALENT than they do. And, that as long as Jalon Walker was completely healthy on defense (which he is not), and that if James Pearce Junior is allowed to play (obviously not yet), and with their STRONG O-Line… Then, THEY are ‘hands down’ THE best team in the South, and it’s not even close. Especially, since they now appear to have a real COACH. But, that ‘Defensive’ Draft-Class of Walker, Pearce Junior, and Watts is truly ELITE. And, IF healthy, could go down as an NFL “All-Time” type of Draft-Class, on one side of the ball, as a TRIO. ATL is VERY SCARY for the rest of the LEAGUE, if they can stay healthy! I really hate it for Jalon Walker though, because HE is a 💯 class-act. Carolina, has surprised me given their injuries… They seem to have recovered nicely, so far.
The Bucs have to get Jeremiah Smith, and then tank in 2028 for our QB… Super Kamario, or Keelon Russell. Looks like Manning will probably be part of that class too, as well as Donte Moore. Also, been yelling you all THIS… “HAIL NO TO A QB in 2027” for several other reasons, BUT that the “2028-Class” will even be BETTER. Also, a couple of these “2027-guys” WILL return to school, and NONE of them really do a whole lot of anything FOR ME, anyway. I think it’s a real strong class overall, with a few of them having real nice careers… BUT, I don’t see ANY of them as being ‘generational’ or future HOF locks.
I just can’t understand what else it’s going to take for you people to start paying ATTENTION, and to listen to ME!? Especially, given how soooo miserably WRONG some of you people are on literally EVERY-FREAKING-THING. Seriously… There’re prob about 65-70% of you, who are NEVER “Right” on anything, and have just THE WORST “Takes” EVER, every single-time! Seriously. It’s Pure Insanity.
October 7th, 2026 at 3:29 pm
“The Bucs have to get Jeremiah Smith, and then tank in 2028 for our QB… Super Kamario, or Keelon Russell”
Jeremiah Smith would be a waste on this team(Like Harrison in AZ) with what we have at QB, why wait for Kamario when we can draft Simmons to let him marinate while Midfield underplays his contract? We can’t even get Egbuka involved on the reg, and we’re still lining him up on the boundary as if he didn’t make his entire career at OSU working the middle of the field.
QB & WR aside, we need a power RB or an RB that can prop up a power scheme. Last I checked we have either thee smallest or top 3 smallest backfields(RBs) included coming out and there are so many RBs to choose from next year.
A Mark Fletcher/LJ Martin/Jacoby Williams/Adam Mohammed
We need to get the size we lost back after Rachaad beat the exit
