Julio Jones Says He Passed On Colts, Packers And Saints

July 27th, 2022

Joe sees all those slimy Saints fans and annoying Packers fans on social media and wants to yell at them, “Ha, ha!”

The newest Buccaneer, legendary receiver Julio Jones, joined WDAE radio after Wednesday’s practice and made it very clear that he was offered more money than the Bucs dropped on him ($6 million plus modest incentives) to play this season.

And Jones noted that joining Aaron Rodgers was in the conversation, as was him passing on the Saints and Colts, where his former quarterback, Matt Ryan, is their new gunslinger.

Always classy, Jones said this season is not about money for him, it’s all about winning. And he advised his agent the Bucs were his goal because he believes they have the best shot to win.

Tom Brady reached out, Jones said, and later Brady asked in a back-and-forth, “What you thinking?” And Jones said he replied, “What you thinking. You got enough space down there?”

Joe assumes Jones was referring to room in the loaded receivers corps.

Every fan knows how the story ends. Jones is now the fourth-highest paid receiver on the Bucs and Brady got what he wanted.

Joe sure hopes Jameis Winston and his friends in New Orleans read this.

TB12 > Saints, Packers, Colts lolololol Enjoy it Pat McAfee lol They were bummed that Julio Said Nah!!!!! I am going to Tampa baby!! lol

  3. Reddington Neck Shores Says:

for julio it’s been the hamstring the past 2 years. he rushed it back each time and it flared – you can check his injury history and it’s wild grade 2 hamstring exits game return 2 weeks later. re-injure exit game. repeat. now he’s had more time off to actually heal and the trainers at one buc (see me13) and tb12 flexibility method can loosen those hammies and with less demand for passes longer utility and his hands still work just fine. excellent signing he knows Kaaron chokes in january anyway.

  4. Alvafan Says:

“The Bucs give me the best chance to win “ Says a lot coming from a guy with his experience. Too bad the bandwagon that’s full of whining losers doesn’t have as much confidence as he does.

  5. SPARKY Says:

To have a QB that every player in the NFL wants to play with is an unbelievable asset. You just sit and wonder who else wants to come to Tampa. Don’t get rid of all the money Licht, there will be a lot of cuts in August, a lot of guys want to come get a ring with the Goat.

  6. ModHairKen Says:

They now have a problem. Too much talent at WR. It took 47 years to write that. Name one other position they’ve ever been this deep. LB in 1979?

  7. Ausgust 1976 Buc Says:

Even as the 4th WR, Julio is going to be a Red Zone nightmare for opponents, and that also helps replace some Gronk catches too.
The Bucs have been the best Red Zone offense the last 2 years with Brady and it will help for sure with Julio. It is stealing candy from a baby in the Red Zone with Julio for Brady.

Brady will singing the old Simon and Garfunkel song “Me and Julio down by the schoolyard” as Tds are being thrown lol.

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  8. Goatfarmer Says:

The Saints will get a better player if the Bucs keep Jones.

Jerry Rice has great pedigree but I’d rather have Permian or Grayson instead.

Stars become has beens. Let’s go with the will bes.

Saints the only team we gotta worry about

  11. MadMax Says:

As much as I hate them (and him, jw), the Saints always have our number….this is our year to change that, especially against old jw…..how many ints you gonna throw to us bro?

  12. Leopold Stotch Says:

Hahaha even Karen Rodgers couldn’t sway him! I told my buddy who’s a Packers fan and I was like yeah you know Julio will be our #3 probably until Godwin is 100 and he scoffed, shook his head and walked away.

They gotta play the song a few times this year after TB12 to Julio connect for TD’s 😂

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  14. noles4jaboo Says:

Not true! Saints never reached out to Julio, why would they? SMH!

  15. bucschamps Says:

    choice is easy.

packers – rodgers drama queen, chokes in playoffs
saints – only cares about beating bucs in the regular season
colts – proud AFC finalist with a banner
bucs – we are the coolest SB champs and we toss our trophy in the river like its nothing

  16. Noles4jaboo’s daddy Says:

Son get back in your room and don’t come out..you obviously forgot this is a bucs fan chat

  17. Buczilla Says:

I know it’s fanciful, but can you imagine if Jones stays healthy, gets revitalized playing on such a good team, and comes close to his old form? That’s one hell of a good reason for Brady to come back in 2023.

  18. HC Grover Says:

JJ will get open and Brady will throw him even more open.

  19. Listnfrmafar Says:

Adam’s doesn’t want to play with Roger’s, Julio says, Thanks but no thanks. Not much of a MVP if players pass on him.

  20. SB~LV Says:

We could have used a Jameis article in the Dead Season, we are always up to posting about “that”
NEVER again in NFL history will a QB be given 5 seasons of failure, well except for his stats

  21. Buxfan Says:

@Nole4jaboo’s yes they did. They reached out and even offered him more money. He wants to win a championship. He doesn’t want a meaningless mid-season championship sAints and its fans love to celebrate.
