Packers Defense Getting Healthy

October 13th, 2020

Packers ILB Kamal Martin.

So the Bucs host Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers Sunday. If that isn’t a tough enough task, consider the Packers may get a starting inside linebacker back.

Per PackersNews.com, a Gannett-owned outfit that combines Packers coverage from both the Green Bay Gazette and the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, rookie inside linebacker Kamal Martin returned to full practice Monday and is eligible to be activated.

The Packers had penciled in Martin, a teammate of Bucs rookies Antoine Winfield and Tyler Johnson at Minnesota, to start the season at inside linebacker, per PackersNews.com.

Martin was going to start next to veteran Christian Kirksey but injured his knee in practice Aug. 30 and underwent surgery the next day. The Packers have not revealed the exact injury, but NFL Network reported it was a torn meniscus in his left knee.

It has been six weeks since Martin hurt his knee and for at least the past two he has been working out on the sidelines at practice. The Packers will probably give him the entire week to see whether he’s ready to return or needs more time.

Of course, whether Martin plays against the Bucs is unknown but damn, just the Bucs luck. An already tough task may be tougher with Green Bay possibly getting back a starter on defense.

At Minnesota, Martin was a tackling machine racking up 177 tackles in four seasons with the Gophers.

We need to beat the team we play against….whoever they field against us…..and we need to quit beating ourselves…..

This team can beat the Packers (and any team in the NFL)…..but it can’t if it continues to make critical mistakes.

At some point, even the sheep will have to hold the coaches “accountable” for those “critical mistakes”!!!!!!!!!!!!! How long will the sheep accept the failures of this so called “win now” coach and his merry band of stale biscuits!!!!!!!!!!! How long does the sheep need to see ole stale biscuit lead the league in most penalties??????? Hold the accountable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Packers!!!!!!!!!!! Errrrrr, I mean, go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looking forward to realist walking ndog back to their cage at smittys shack….

A tackling machine tacking up 177 tackles in four seasons… that’s like 44 a season. Luke Keuchly had more than 177 TWICE in his college career. Packers depending on a rookie to step in and make a difference is a serious stretch.

  5. Mike Johnson Says:

SOS even with brady. Penalties galore and our Bucs..great at tackling after…;long gains by the opposition. We will have to play an inspirational fired up game to bet the Packers. They will be even readier than the Bears were.

Joe, is there not a filter to get rid of the twelve-year-old bs? ^^

I hope the rook does start because Rojo is ready to eat his lunch. GB’s linebackers vs our TE’s and RB’s is a great matchup for us and I expect TB12 to take advantage, especially if they throw this rookie out in coverage his first game.

Doesn’t matter we are going to get are butts kicked either way.

TBBF, couldn’t agree with you more. I hate the incessant analysis of what players are in or out for our next opponent. Doesn’t seem to matter. Sometimes we beat teams that are at full strength and lose to teams playing subs. I understand that game planning has to take into consideration injuries on the other team, but ultimately you have to play who’s in front of you. If they stop making so many mistakes, the Bucs will be fine.
