“What’s Wrong With You?”

July 15th, 2026

Moving moment in the Quarterback docuseries on Netflix featuring Baker Mayfield, along with Joe Flacco, Jayden Daniels and Cam Ward.

At a Bucs practice following the Week 3 win against the Jets, Mayfield’s throwing arm is hurting after an injury suffered in that game.

Mayfield is trying to hide the bicep issue and swelling. Receiver Sterling Shepard senses a problem.

Sterling Shepard: What’s wrong with you? (pause) What’s wrong with you?

Baker Mayfield: What do you mean?

Shepard: Your knee?

Mayfield: No, my arm.

Shepard: Fu*c is wrong with your arm?

Mayfield: When i got it hit on the Z-choice [play].

Shepard then reacted in horror when Mayfield showed him his bicep area.

Mayfield is then seen talking to Mike Evans about the bad arm. He says to Evans, “there’s so much bruising but it doesn’t, it’s not even bruised on the part where it hurts. It hurts on like a tendon right there.”

Evans looks on as Mayfield rolls back his sleeve to show the bruising. “Whoa!” Evans reacts.

Netflix then shows pictures of the wide range of bruising on Mayfield’s arm, from below the elbow to near the armpit.

The Bucs lost in Week 4 to the Eagles, 31-25. Would a healthy Mayfield arm have made a difference? It might have on Mayfield’s red zone interception to Chris Godwin in the fourth quarter.

Joe… is every article going to be if Mayfield was not hurt would they have won. I would say if this team as a whole played better ball they could of at least won one more game.

  2. 813bucboi Says:

lol..c’mon lol…baker wasnt the only player dealing with bumps and bruises lol

wonder howlong its going to take for the baker fan club to chime in lol

    GO BUCS!!!!

  3. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

Pretty sure if we didn’t start the game with a blocked punt it would have been better. But yeah, maybe a healthy throwing arm would have enough zip on it to get past the guy who tipped it.

But also, that was last year so I really don’t care anymore

  4. 40 year Bucs fan Says:

I’ll just be glad when we get a franchise qb, a competent gm, and a good hc. You know stuff successful franchises do to stay relevant. I just don’t think baker is it especially long term, Jason needs to learn how to scout and evaluate positions other than o line and wr.

  5. Buc1987 Says:

lol @ But also, that was last year so I really don’t care anymore

  6. Ash Says:

Pretty sure if they had better coaching they would have won a few more games by adjusted or maybe having a better backup but who cares really it already happened. Let’s hope we don’t see a repeat of the past oh look joes favorite word hope lol.

  7. Paratrooper Buc Says:

Any QB with an inexperienced offensive coordinator who can’t compensate for injured Oline and no Mike Evan’s will struggle. Remember special teams allowed a block punt return for a TD. Down 24-6 and defense eagles to a TD in second half. Final score was 31-25. Yes Baker threw an INT but we were behind the whole game.

  8. Defense Rules Says:

Supposedly ‘professional’ decisions obviously weren’t so professional …

o Baker did the team no favors by insisting on ‘playing through the injury’.

o Bowles did the team no favors by not knowing what was going on with his QB & not pulling him.

o Licht did the team no favors by bringing on Bilgewater instead of a much more competent backup QB.

o Bucs’ OLine did Mayfield no favors by not adequately protecting him.

o And as an aside, Bucky Irving did the Bucs no favors by fumbling on the Tampa 25 yd line in the 3rd qtr, after our defense had already forced the Eagles to punt THREE times in the 3rd qtr. Hurts & Barkley combined on SIX straight rushes to punch the ball in for a TD (their ONLY points of the 2nd half and the difference in the ballgame).

  9. MadMax Says:

813….trust me, i gave up a while back….no longer worth my time…makes me not read here much anymore. No offense to the Joe’s of course. its just ridiculous time after time, Baker hate everywhere, even in articles not discussing him. But im the one getting moderated the last 3 weeks…every comment.

So you win 813 and your Baker hating little girls….now go take a victory lap in heavy traffic on the skyway

  10. infomeplease Says:

Reality is reality!!! It is and was what it was! Now… Can the OL keep BM6 in a clean pocket long enough for him to pick apart the D???? Can the O line and RBs provide a run game?? These things will bring Ws!! Bring on September!!

  11. 813bucboi Says:

crazy how some confuse facts with hate lol…

    facts are:
baker won a playoff game in 23′
led the NFL in INTs and Fumbles in 24′
    missed the playoffs in 25′
has MUCH to prove in 26′

    GO BUCS!!!!

  12. Capt.Tim Says:

“Does a hurt arm affect a QB?”
    lol.

  13. DBS Says:

Nov 7,2025 first poster hopes hopes Wirfs, Breadson and Barton snap out of their funk. All the time saying the Championship Defense was on display. Also in November he stated that the team was going to win 12 games Book It. And of course Giz needed to run the ball more and not get pass happy.

813 you need to read some of your own posts because we know you suddenly changed your tune. It’s all Baker’s fault now.

  14. Win in the Trenches Says:

baker and kirk cousins led in fumbles and interceptios in 2024

  15. Stpetematt Says:

You left out Baker leads the league in TDs since settling in here. He’s way up there in yards too. Isn’t that what a QB is supposed to do? Obviously, he’s doing his job and somebody else isn’t. I think that’s why we revamped the defense!

  16. DBS Says:

There was no injuries to him. He hasn’t had any surgery during the season or the off-season. Ask our site doctors.

  17. 813bucboi Says:

    DBS

and then the real baker showed up in DEC lol….

    5 4th quarter turnovers in 4 games…

    nice try bakerfanboi!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  18. DavidsHogg Says:

Is every episode of the show going to feature Joe asking “could a fully healthy mayfield won more games?”

  19. Steven007 Says:

813, well it didn’t take too long for his detractors to show up. Beat the other guys to the punch so to speak.

  20. JustVisiting Says:

I don’t care how tough you are, how much “moxie” you have, or whether or not you’re a “franchise QB”. If your throwing arm is hurt, it’s going to affect your throwing motion and accuracy. Period.

  21. #99 The Big Fella Says:

    813,
You just plain hate Baker and look for any excuse you can to bash him. I’m like some of the other others it’s not even worth reading anymore.

  22. Joe Bob Pigskin Says:

    Waiting for Rod Munch’s comment……….

  23. 813bucboi Says:

i dont hate baker lol…again, stating facts doesnt equal hate lol

some of you make excuses and ignore the facts lol

    GO BUCS!!!

  24. 813bucboi Says:

Ive stated facts regarding bowles and you clowns eat it up lol..no one calls me a hater…..when the facts are brought up regarding baker, its excuse season from the bakerbunch lol

    GO BUCS!!!!

  25. ChesterCopperpot Says:

Individual stats are not what you have a franchise QB to do as his main goal.

Winning football games should be the focus for a franchise seriously competing for another title.

After the 3-0 start we were 5-9. That’s a .357 win percentage. Sub par.

Would you rather be with the 9-10 hot girl that is fun to be around but dumb as dirt, or the solid 7 girl that treats you right and can help you win a scrabble tournament?

Looks fade away but intelligence and consistency are long lasting traits that win.

  26. Herbiebuc Says:

Seems to me the todd bowles hate was and is a lil unnecessary. It’s clear todd put together a team that could have made the playoffs if the “star” QB ego wasn’t so big. The defense wasn’t great but baker was terrible and a lot of those final losses you have to put it square on baker shoulders not the coach.

  27. Hodad Says:

I no longer care about sh#t that went on last season.

  28. Vanessa Anne Says:

    “Would a healthy Mayfield arm…”

    Tough call, Joe

    The Eagles are no slouches.

Sure, we’ve had pretty good luck against them the past few years, but there were a lot of mistakes in that game that weren’t on Baker.

We crawled back to within 6 points of them in the 4th, so maybe we would have.

  29. Rod Munch Says:

    Is Baker ever not hurt?

Also, come on… “The Bucs lost in Week 4 to the Eagles, 31-25. Would a healthy Mayfield arm have made a difference?”

The Bucs got blown out that game, it was only close on paper because the Eagles just sat on their huge lead. It would be like pretending the Dolphins or Pat games were close because Baker got some late garbage time stats.

  30. Ballwasher61 Says:

If a player is hurt that is a fact. And the injury can effect his performance, another fact. Saying an injury is just an excuse and the guy sucks because YOU want to crawl on that dung heap and crow is showing ones ignorance and 13 year old troll wannaa-be self.

  31. toopanca Says:

It sound like the Bucs need to hack that audio feed so that they know the condition of their QB.

But, for a team that has clearly been rebuilding, just getting good starters on the field has to come before getting good backups.

This year it looks like the Bucs are coming much closer to succeeding in doing both.

  32. HeavyE Says:

The best part of last night was watching 6, getting tackled by the cops!!!

  33. Kenton Smith Says:

Muncheslikeitsgoingoutofstyle. Your comment about garbage time stats lets some light in on your astonishing knowledge of the game of football. Just saying.
