Three Key Bucs Skip Practice

October 13th, 2020

Two out of three names here are no surprise.

Yes, our beloved Buccaneers are back at practice today and the first 30 minutes is open for media to view players stretching, warming up and typically running through a drill or two.

FOX-13 reporter Kevin O’Donnell was there and noted on Twitter that Chris Godwin, Leonard Fournette and LeSean McCoy were not practicing.

Last week, Bucco Bruce Arians said Godwin (hamstring) might be able to do something, aka practice, on Thursday. Maybe. So his absence is no surprise to Joe, and neither is the absence of McCoy (ankle). But Fournette sitting on the sidelines is curious.

Fournette was active against the Bears and even played a snap. Does this mean his ankle still isn’t right five days later?

The first official injury report for Week 6 will be released tomorrow.

Always strange that something as simple as who’s actually practicing and who isn’t differs from writer to writer on the same day, even within the same hour.

  2. 813bucboi Says:

    not a surprise…next man up….

as long as miller and mike dont show up im good….

would like to see more snaps for nelson….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  3. buc15 Says:

No surprise at all really. Just giving that ankle more time to heal

  4. Ndog Says:

For the record the Bucs have beaten the teams below:

1-4 Chargers (the 1 win was against the hapless Bengals)
3-2 Panthers (2nd week, on the road, entire brand new coaching staff)
1-3 Broncos (the 1 win was against the hapless Jets)

  5. TheBucsAnthem Says:

why can’t we go one full year with players being hurt a good amount of time?

  6. Steven007 Says:

For the record? Um, every fan posting here knows that. Do you have a comment about any of the players skipping practice? If not, not sure what you’re trying to say here since it’s common knowledge.

  7. Steven007 Says:

To uncommons point, Stroud says that all those players practiced today.

  8. El Buco Realisto Is a Dicko and NDogTurd is a Crybaby and TheBucsAnus and LovesJameisTighties are Trolls Says:

For the record, NDogTurd is Negative Nellie Dog Turd.

  9. Adrnagy Says:

7-9 or 8-8 season. Most penalized team and we have the most talented roster ? I’ll give licht a pass then. Head coach no. Nothing has change or improve.
Head coach goes do it on 4th down inside our 30 but can’t go for it on 4th inside 10 and trust defense ?
    Poor coaching.

  10. Dano407 Says:

I don’t think they can beat GB without Godwin, so I hope he heals very soon.

  11. Nick2 Says:

Ankle injuries are tricky. Man we need this guy back so bad. Rojo is good but Fournette is the fourth quarter closer we have lacked in the last two weeks.

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

While it’s encouraging to hear that any given player is practicing….it’s not a guarantee that they will play….or play well.

It’s also no certainty that a player not practicing will not play.

I always relay on the gameday decisions…..

Now…when I hear a player has been ruled out…..that has some finality to it.

  13. Buc1987 Says:

Adrnagy…sadly you might be right if that kind of crap continues.

    Go Bucs!

  14. Buc1987 Says:

    Cue : Realisto!!!!

  15. Adrnagy Says:

This team or players don’t need teacher coaches no more ! They need leader coaches. Motivators ,
Coaches have to adjust their style. So far we are in high school coaching style. Besides HC , he can’t grab control. He’s one of those guys that talks trash or criticism behind your back but can’t do it in your face.

  16. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I understand that Jack Cichy has been sent to IR with a hamstring injury….

This is so unfortunate for him…..he has a long history of injuries and simply can’t stay healthy….it’s bizarre how some players are simply injury prone and others virtually injury free…
I hope he recovers and wish him well because I think he’s a good player when healthy.

  17. 813bucboi Says:

and the saints beat who again?….

    3-2 BUCS
    1-4 chargers
    1-4 lions….lol….

still tied for 1st place mutt….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  18. Bucsfanman Says:

You play who’s on the schedule and with the teams that you have. Hopefully we can get back some weapons healthy to play GB.

    And, a ‘W’ is a ‘W’ for the fans!

  19. Mike C Says:

Well thanks for not complaining about JW again…… ohhhhh wait, this is just your round about way of doing N dog. I always thought you were just a JW fan boy, congrats on your transformation into full and total troll with that last comment.

  20. BillyBucFan Says:

    @Dano

    I agree wholeheartedly.
Especially if we don’t even throw Miller a screen.

I mean what happened to getting the ball in play makers hands vs Chicago.

Missing Vea might not hurt that bad because Nacho and Khalil Davis rush the passers better.

Missing Godwin for Watson or (Insert name here) just doesn’t work.
You see what happens when Watson runs an out route?

Of course if the O Line continues to be Schizophrenic, it won’t really matter who is playing WR

  21. SOEbuc Says:

    TBBF

Has Cichy ever not been on IR???

  22. Youngbucs Says:

It’s amazing when people talk about who teams have beat. Tell me again who the so called good teams have beaten I’ll wait. It’s week 5 you play who’s in front of you winning is all tht matters no team looks dominant so far not even the undefeated teams some ugly wins across the league just win but what do I know.

  23. SlyPirate541 Says:

Let’s be honest, this isn’t the genius coaching staff that can transform a team based upon personnel. They can’t pivot schemes.

The Bucs are hosed on D without Vea. If they lose RoJo, we’ll definitely be talking about draft picks in two weeks.

  24. SOEbuc Says:

Oh my God we’re dying without Godwin. Fournette not being healthy is huge for the run , also. Wondering how healthy Evans and Miller are going to be if they can go on Sunday. Badass if Tyler Johnson could bust something out on Sunday with more practice with Brady.

  25. jcscycles Says:

Ignore the dog. He will go away after two weeks. Trolls need human contact.

  26. SOEbuc Says:

Of course JoeBucsBandwagonFan.com posters arrive after week five lose by one to a good defense. Do you mean Todd Bowels coaching squad that has pulled a total 180 on the defensive side of the ball from the Bucs two years ago? One of the best oline in the league? Between Goober Smith not blocking and jumping 10 times a game and BS penalties against the Bucs we’ve all witnessed. Smith and Jensen dumbass’ have nothing to do with discipline. Not to mention all our offensive weapons that have been seriously injured or not 100% since before week one. Ppl need to think about all of our coaching squads from Lovie to Koetter and be praying we finally have this good of coaching. Especially the young defense.

  27. Oneilbucs Says:

How come Brady ain’t being blamed for nothing all of a sudden now yall are noticing the hold team . If Jamies was the quarterback all these losses would have been his fault….

  28. SOEbuc Says:

    Oneilbucs

If Jameis was playing with this banged up offense we’d be 0-4.

  29. Clean House Says:

We are in a terrible division and we suck.
    Same ol slop as before.

  30. Dp4life22 Says:

Joe !!! You were begging for this guy and I said it over and over we will pay millions toward cap for a guy that’s always injured. HERE WE GO could have used that cap space for other needs. One big run and to the IR list anytime now.

Bell is available now if we had that cap space maybe we could pull off trade

  31. Bucsfan951 Says:

“We are in a terrible division“

And the Bucs have been in the basement of that terrible division for how long?

  32. Eric Brierton Says:
