Rising Bucs Vs. Imploding Team?

December 1st, 2019

New report casts a shadow

A new report this morning rolls out the red carpet for the Bucs to give their hardcore fans what they crave.

It feels like Bucs fans eternally are looking for signs their beloved team has turned a corner toward respectability.

Per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports at about 8 a.m. the Jaguars, today’s Bucs opponent, are a team in turmoil on the brink of massive change. He reported Jaguars staff already is looking for new work.

There is a strong sense within the Jaguars organization that major changes are coming in 2020, according to league sources, with members of the coaching staff and front office concerned about their job security and beginning to reach out to associates around the league to inquire about availability elsewhere.

Chatter tied to job security of coaches and management leaking out always trickles down to players in a hurry, and it often means the team is about to throw in the towel when it comes to maximum effort on the field. That doesn’t mean the players roll over; it means extreme effort is less consistent.

The Jaguars have been blown out in their past three games.

And here comes Tampa Bay to their crib.

If the Bucs are who they think they are, they should walk out of Jacksonville with a solid “W.” But have the Bucs matured enough to put in a good showing against a team in turmoil, one that has been non-competitive for three straight weeks? Bettors have been poring money on the Bucs, who opened as a one-point favorite and are now giving 2 1/2 points.

Joe hopes so but wouldn’t bet a nickel on it.

Derrick Brooks & Ira Kaufman in Episode 2 of TAMPA TWO this week dive into Sunday’s pivotal Bucs-Jags game. Yes it is a crossroads kind of game. Presented by Caldeco Air Conditioning & Heating. Another great production from The Identity Tampa Bay and Joe.

What does it say of the Bucs if they lose to such a team today?

  2. Wesley Says:

Respectability starts with firing Jason Licht.

  3. Defense Rules Says:

I wouldn’t bet a nickel on it either Joe. Bucs have a way of ‘playing down to their opponents’. Giants game was a classic example. However, the eternal optimist in me says that this Bucs team really wants to run the table & show that they’ve turned the corner. Many if not most of these guys are playing NOW for a seat at the table NEXT YEAR. I think they’ll come through & pull out a W.

  4. ClwJB Says:

It’s final exam time on our side, so let’s see what Bucs team shows up today

Do we feed jones and barber and dominate them in the trenches opening up the play action game to our beast WR team

Does the secondary play with speed and ball awareness again

Does that D line stuff the run and produce 4+ sacks

Or do we get 5 pick JW and a half arse effort game expecting an easy victory

Time to show up and show out Bucs!!

  5. Colonel Angus Says:

These are the games we typically lose. We shall see

  6. Sport Says:

At the beginning of the season, I was hoping we would find an identity.

Here’s what we can bank on so far.

Suffocating run defense. Prolific passing game.

We have improved our red zone scoring and kicking game.

If we can keep the improvement going this week with the pass rush and secondary flying around, we might just have a good all around team developing.

    Go Bucs!!!

    In BA I Trust!

  7. ChanEpic Says:

I don’t know. I’m kinda feeling like this game will be the nail in the coffin for the Jags. The Bucs can and should win this game. Of course this take comes very strongly caveated by the appearance of Horrible Jamies.

I’m am ChanEpic and I approve this message.

  8. BrianBucs Says:

Jags are a mess, with many internal problems. Bucs should get an easy win today. It will be another chance for Winston to show that he can have a good game against another terrible team.

  9. GhostofSchiano Says:

Isn’t Nick Foles like 3-0 against the Bucs?

    Hopefully its 3-1 after today

  10. Jimbuc2 Says:

I think Tampa gets the win. Jaguars are in free-fall, much like the flame-out Falcons. Nick Foles may have a SB to his credit, but to me the guy is refried Ryan Fitzpatrick. No thanks, I’ll ride the Winston roller coaster on this ticket. Bucs win big 41-31.

  11. DooshLaRue Says:

“Bucs should get an easy win today”

    Ha ha ha ha ha!
    Where have you been?

    We don’t do easy.

  12. MadMax Says:

If i had to put money on it, Bucs!

WHAT SUCKS IS ITS EASY NOW SINCE WE’RE PLAYING AGAINST TEAMS TANKING FOR THE DRAFT!!! DONT THINK THATS NOT GOING ON!

But wins are wins and winning is fun, so lets do it!!!! Draft falls where it falls!!!!

  13. Doctor Stroud Says:

It gets worse for the Jags because Tom Coughlin held a press conference begging the fans to attend today’s game. Then again, they rank just above the Bucs in attendance.

  14. Bucsfanman Says:

These last 5 games are going to tell the tale of this team. 9-7? 8-8? I would feel a lot better if we made a good showing. Draft be damned!

  15. Anonymous Says:

bucs and jags have a lot in common with washed up old men trying to run a team when the game as passed them both bye years ago. Both Coughlin and BA might have been good coaches when the flinstones were ruling the bay area but both are way passed their primes and just a waste of time and oxygen… the world really needs a maximum age of 65. living in the past is pathetic and both these franchise have dinosaurs calling the shots.

  16. Kobe Faker Says:

“Betting line moving toward TB because of no Miles Jack who is the leader of that defense

The key and only key to beat the Bucs is QB pressure

The defensive front pressure destroys the run game and leftover gets brain locked calling plays

This is the ok only question to ask

Will the Jags beatdown the Tampa bay offensive line?

    Jags win 24-16

    Gay miss field goal”

  17. Little Bo Peep 🤡❗️ Says:

Just Like the New York Giants in Week 2 🤡❗️That was another NFL Team that was in turmoil as well, and guess what ❓The Bucs lost the game, just like every time The Tampa Bay Buccaneers do when they are a favorite vs a bad football team❗️I have one question for The Great Ira Kaufman 🤡❓When was the last time the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won and covered an NFL Game as a favorite vs the Vegas Point Spread 🤡❓(11/25/2018) vs the San Francisco 49ers. The Bucs won the game, 27-9 as a 1 Point Favoriteat home. The last time the Bucs won and coverd an NFL Game on the road was vs The Miami Dolphins (-1’) 30-20 during week 11 of the 2017 NFL season. Go Bucs !

  18. Onetrickpony Says:

For a minute I was hoping it was the Bucs I was reading JL was gone

  19. orlbucfan Says:

I feel sorry for the Jags and their fans. As a long time devoted Bucs fan, I’ve walked plenty of miles in those (losing) shoes. Bucs will win today. I will be watching the Defense continue to flower (I hope). 🙂

  20. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Even if we win, the fans will be down on the team.

  21. NPRSageBoy Says:

It’s really a question of who shows up: Dr. JayMiss or Mr. Turnover?

    Peace, out

  22. Buccaneerscotty Says:

So we beat a bunch of bad teams and loose to all the good teams! Oh great…. and the rams suck also 10-4 great past 10 years of the same old bucs …

  23. Pelsbuc61 Says:

The implosion will continue when the Bucs franchise JW and dont fire Licht. Don’t get caught up on this Jacksonville imploding crap. The Bucs have been imploding ever since they fired Gruden.

  24. SOEbuc Says:

Rising Bucs??? Won two out of last four against the Cardinals and Falcons. Don’t give a sh!t about stats except for Dean’s.

  25. Tbbucs3 Says:

    GhostofSchiano

We beat the mighty Nick Foles last year with Fitzmagic

  26. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Anytime the Bucs and/or us fans get too far out over our skis…we crash spectacularly a la the “agony of defeat” from the aged ABC Sports promos for the older/fellow long-teeth tribe here.

  27. Wesley Says:

    Rising Bucs? Lol

  28. Craig Says:

You can never say that the Bucs are a rising team, not with this QB. He can give away the easiest games with more ease than the game itself should have been.

Maybe today we will see what Griffin can do. Yeah, right.

  29. bojim Says:

Whenever we here people say ‘turn the corner’, ‘finally found themselves’,’break out’ etc, we always seem to get our hearts broke. I’ll wait till 30 secs left in the game.

  30. Slugglife Says:

Seeing griffin is about as likely as seeing a unicorn.

  31. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

    Jags by 6

    Bucs can’t handle success

  32. JimbobBucsFan Says:

    8:52 pm.

In retrospect the Buccaneers have turned a corner. The defense is jelling. Bucs 28, Jags 11.
