Protecting Jameis

September 12th, 2015
Help him!

Help him!

There is no question that the front line for the Bucs is a major question mark.

Can Logan Mankins right himself? Can Evan Smith save his career? Does Gosder Cherilus have anything left in his tank and old knees? Can Donovan Smith and Ali Marpet not play like rookies?

We have seen in preseason what happens when America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, does not have time. It’s ugly. But we have seen what he can do with time. That is pretty.

Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune outlines what the Bucs can do to take the expected defensive heat off Jameis in this TBO video with Olivia Stacey.

Will emerse myself in the wonderful world of college football today and love every moment……

Hope they can simply keep Jameis from getting injured on Sunday.

Can Joe(s) quit making excuses (in advance, btw) for Jameis ?

If the OLine and Martin can get a decent running game going, eat up some clock and get ahead, Bucs have a pretty good chance of winning. Playing from behind and depending solely on the passing game will get ugly quick.

Lets turn this around and ask if the Titans can stop anyone??? Dick LeBeau was a great D master but that was a long time ago and with talent that is not anywhere near as good as he worked with up in the AFC North (reference: Monte Kiffen; expected top do wonders after Tampa; never happened….)….. Being a Buc fan I have come to expect the worst case scenario every Sunday since Chucky got fired: (the other teams’ questionable and doubtful players all starting and ours not even suiting up), (every questionable call or replay going against Tampa) etc…. But maybe on Sunday the Bucs can simply run the ***ing ball, eat clock and put some points on the board early and force the Titans to throw where McCoy might tee off on Mariota…. Jesus I hope so… Bucs score 20 and the Titans can’t get to 17….. Joe its gonna be ugly here if the Bucs lose this one…

Protect Jameis??? Maybe the only thing would be one of those “Hurt Locker Suits”!!!!!!!

Winston will be better at avoiding sacks. Jameis will be healthy after the game is over. I don’t know if the extra refs seen in preseason will carry over in the regular season, if so I expect more penalties called, mostly holding. College football, it’ time to pay these players some money too, you stinking NCAA moneygrubbers.

LargoSamIM…I don’t see this as an excuse for Jameis. Everyone has been talking about how bad our line is since last November.

  10. Kevin Says:

Funny…the patriots started three rookie offensive lineman the other night…and they played like studs.

Hmph…must just be good drafting I guess. Guess we will find out in a little over 24 hours how our draft went.
