Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow

November 3rd, 2014

mike glennon 1103

A long look at the Bucs yesterday, today, and what to expect tomorrow and beyond.

OK, so here we are, halfway through the season and the Bucs have but one win. Pretty awful, isn’t it?

Joe really hadn’t called out Lovie Smith much beyond insinuating his player evaluations have been dreadful. This changes now, if only for the following.

Lovie yesterday bemoaned the fact his acting offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo all but abandoned the run in the second half, despite the Bucs running at will on Cleveland and the Browns having a lousy rush defense.

On the final drive, a run couldn’t have been used to pick up a first down?

After the game, Lovie wished the Bucs would have run more. OK, Lovie, that thing on your head during games, is that just an expensive tin foil contraption to send aliens Morse code messages? If you wanted the Bucs to run more in the second half, especially on the final drive, you are the head coach. Use the friggin’ headset to tell Arroyo to run the friggin’ ball!

And if for some reason you cannot communicate with that headset, find a damned ball boy and send him to Arroyo with the message to run the ball. Geez. You’re the head coach, right? Who the hell is in charge here? Man.

Martin Meets Bench

Is there any doubt Doug Martin is no longer the Bucs No. 1 running back? The same holes Martin had to run through, and rarely did in order to get to the second and third levels, were there yesterday for Rainey.

Difference? Rainey has vision for those holes, Martin does not. Martin thinks he is Jim Brown and just puts his head down and tries to bowl over people. No vision. Not even trying. At least Rainey finds daylight and uses it.

Not So Special Teams

Boy, the Bucs had an ugly trifecta yesterday on special teams. A blocked field goal (cost Bucs three points), a penalty on a field goal that gave the Browns new life and eventually a touchdown (four points) and a blocked punt that led to a Browns score (seven points). That’s 14 points.

Whatever special teams coach Kevin O’Dea worked on last week, it was a waste of time. For a team to give up 14 points on special teams on the road, that is a recipe for disaster. And it was a disaster.

Second Contract

This has nothing to do with a game, but demonstrates the miserable history of the Bucs with quarterbacks. When was the last time a Bucs quarterback made it to his second contract?

Joe thought of Son of Bob (Griese), but that was not consecutive contracts, and Joe thinks Chucky brought Son of Bob back only as a backup. Then again, we are talking Chucky, who once thought Rob Johnson to be the savior.

That is just horrible team history when you cannot think of a quarterback who made it to his second contract without looking it up.

Lovie’s Player Evaluation

Johnthan Banks had one helluva good game yesterday. All the while he was making plays Joe kept thinking to himself that Lovie did everything in his power to make sure that slug Mike Jenkins was a starter over Banks. Can you imagine? Mike Freaking Jenkins?

How?

Watching football last night, Joe can’t help but wonder how in the hell the Bucs ever beat the Steelers. Talk about a team that was asleep at the wheel that day.

FedEx Coming?

Caution: Expect there may be a suspension coming for Dashon Goldson over a blatant helmet-to-helmet hit yesterday. Joe is not saying it will happen, but Joe is willing to lay cash Goldson will get a FedEx package this week with a nasty six-figured bill.

Given Goldson’s history, right or wrong, don’t be shocked if he gets suspended.

NFL Thoughts

Saints: Joe wants to say the Saints and Drew Brees have turned the corner. But then again, they beat an NFC South team, so there is no telling.

Bengals: Rookie running back Jeremy Hill ran roughshod over the Jags with a pair of touchdowns and 154 yards.

Cardinals: Raise your hand if you predicted the Cardinals to be the last team with but one loss. Yeah? Well, Joe doesn’t believe you. Carson Palmer (three touchdowns) is timeless.

Eagles: If anyone is going to get anything out of Mark Sanchez, leave it to Chip Kelly. Sanchez, the butt-fumbler, came off the bench for an injured Nick Foles and threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns.

Chiefs: This team is starting to impress Joe more and more each week. Alex Smith threw for a pair of touchdowns, but then again, we’re talking the Jets here.

Dolphins: Man, they just pounded the Chargers. Joe would never guess the Chargers and Philip Rivers would get goose-egged by the Dolphins of all teams. Ryan Tannehill tossed for 288 yards and three scores.

Vikings: You want drama? It is in Washington where the rumors say Danny Snyder forced Jay Gruden to start RGIII, whether he was healthy or not. Now, he goes out and gets upstaged by Teddy Bridgewater who threw for 268 yards.

Patriots: Tom Brady… yada… yada… yada. Peyton Manning blah… blah… blah. Zzzzz… Joe never saw a minute of this. On purpose.

Seahawks: The Raiders are still looking for their first win after Marshawn Lynch scores a pair of touchdowns.

Steelers: For the second straight game, Big Ben throws for six touchdowns.

Non-NFL Thoughts

1. Man, Joe feels bad for Ole Miss receiver Laquon Treadwell. What a wonderful receiver and to have his leg broken how he did, when he did, was gut-wrenching. Just inches from scoring the game-winner his leg snaps and he loses the ball. Joe was having dreams of him catching passes for the Bucs dancing in his head. Now? Well, maybe he is a late-round draft pick. Receivers don’t often come back from broken legs like that.

2. Geez, where was the horsecollar call on that play? Or helmet to helmet hit? Auburn got away with two penalties on that play.

3. On one play, Ole Miss had their playoff hopes blown up and their best wide receiver’s leg blown up. What an awful nightmare.

4. Have you ever seen a luckier team than Auburn? Joe swears that Gus Malzahn sacrificed a daughter to the devil. Take away Kelvin Benjamin’s catch in the title game last year, and no program has had bounces go their way week after week after week like Auburn under Malzahn.

5. How bad is the B1G? Notice there is always a B1G game at noon stuck with a bad woman announcer? For years it was Pam Ward, who literally didn’t know the difference between a punt and a kickoff (literally!). Now, it is Pam Ward, Jr. Joe tried to watch the Maryland-Penn State game but not only is that uglier than ugly football, you had Ward, Jr. calling the game.

6. Joe grew up a B1G fan but that conference is shameful now it is so bad. Since JoePa went senile, Jim Tressel went crooked and Lloyd Carr went to retirement, that conference has sunk to Division-II levels. It is a crime.

7. Joe loves football, period. He really enjoys watching PAC-12 football late night after the SEC primetime game. But the past couple of weeks, man, what a drop off in talent there is from a top shelf SEC game to a middling PAC-12 game.

8. The TCU-West Virginia game was fun. Interesting how West Virginia all of a sudden has a decent defense. But look who is coaching them: Former longtime JoePa defensive coordinator Scrap Bradley, maybe one of the most underrated defensive coordinators in football. He always took three- and two-star level talent and transformed those guys into NFL players. Watch out for the Mountaineers after Bradley, a skilled recruiter, gets a few classes under his belt.

9. Boy, Joe thinks TCU is really, really, really going to regret that choke job they had to Baylor; blowing a 21-point lead.

10. What a fantastic World Series. Joe enjoyed it as much as he could with the Cardinals not being in it. Great postseason all around, actually.

11. Joe doesn’t get all the caterwauling over Merlot Joe Maddon leaving. He had an escape clause in his contract and exercised it. The Cubs saw a man they wanted to be their manager and hired him. What is the problem here? So teams are not allowed to fire guys when they see an opportunity to improve? In what world?

  1. NewTampaChris Says:

I don’t watch enough college football to have an opinion on Marcus Mariotta or Jameis Winston. (Though the latter’s off-field rep is dreadful and a huge red flag.)

But this ship will not get turned around until we have a QB that can make enough plays to win games for us. Running the ball is not enough — Rainey had 144 v the Rams and a great first half yesterday (and we only led by 1 at the half). The QB has to win you some games.

  2. Buccfan37 Says:

Agree on the Peyton Manning- Tom Brady snorefest. Boring to the max. Why don’t these old codger QB’s hang it up? The Rams beating the 49ers was telling. I hope Arizona wins that division. And last, Goldson drives his helmet into a player who was already on the ground. WTF! Get rid of him!

  3. mike h Says:

NUMBER 1 PICK. plus lovie the idiot plus OC WHO!!!! means 4 more years of bad football!!! they just keep starting over and over and over. wtf!!!!!!!

  4. Rob Says:

Can we stop the Glennon must start the next 8 games talk now? Can we all agree that this team needs a win. Period. Glennon is not the answer, and while McCown isnt either if he gives us a chance just to win a damn game he needs to play.

  5. HorseForce Says:

I’m officially over Glennon. We need a new quarterback..
    (including DE, MLB, S, G, T)

  6. mike h Says:

also even though it probably will not happen. lovie smith does not deserve to be the coach next year. this guy is terrible!!!!!

  7. bucrightoff Says:

Good thing you didn’t see the New England game or you would have seen Jonathan Casillas with 3 ST tackles and a downed punt in the first half and Tim Wright with the key block on the Edelman punt return TD. Just another validation of the wonderful talent evaluation skills of the Lovie and Licht era.

  8. Patrick in VA Says:

I feel like the team is getting aspects of the game together. Hoping that by the end of the season we have a core group of players that know this scheme and can work well within it and then we can build around them to fill the holes in talent and dump the malcontents.

  9. INDYbucsfan Says:

How did you not watch the pats vs broncos? Talk about being a football fan, well that was the best football game with the best players in the best league in the world. I guess being in Tampa and being surrounded by losing all the time would make some people bitter. It’s cool to watch those guys though, it’s weird, it’s like watching real NFL teams. Hopefully we tank the rest of the season and get the #1 pick so we can have a prayer to be in the same league as those boring consistent winners.

  10. Jim Says:

I sleep much better knowing the Bucs already have their QB of the future. Glennon is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. bob in valrico Says:

agree with most of your takes Joe.heres mine prevent lovie from going shopping in free agency.build team through draft.hitching wagon to quarterback of future will only get you a first round quarterbackback next year.He has progressively regressed. He is being exposed as a passer and even his running for first down or to make line of scrimmage has been inept of late.thought rainey
was less effective in second half on his few carries. maybe cleveland adjusted, not sure. But there was no absolutely no reason to put ball in glennons hands exclusively with his up and down play to that point.lovie should not blame OC.
it was his decision to install arroyo as coordinator,so he owns it.Arroyo called pretty good game up to point cleveland got ahead. poor execution on glennons part when we needed it.

  12. bucco bruce Says:

Glennon has no pocket awareness of the rush and cement in his shoes to get out of the way. Also thought he could have stuck his head in there for a couple of first downs..and he just lumbered out of bounds. CAREER BACKUP!. Not to blame one person, but without QB mistakes yesterday this would have been an easy win. McCown had a bad start this year, but he gives us a better chance for A win. Glennon is not the savior, obviously…no need for further evaluations…

  13. Zam Says:

Mariota is not a sure fire NFL prospect in my opinion. He doesn’t throw the ball well, but he throws a bad ball better than anybody. His field vision is very good. So he’ll have a place, but I don’t see him as a top 10 QB, let alone franchise or elite QB.

So even if the Bucs get the #1 pick of the draft, does anyone here trust that they’ll pick the right guy? Is Tim Couch available?

  14. Luther Says:

What is so important about winning another game or two. We are terrible and can really help ourselves in the draft next year. I anticipate that we could or should have 2 picks in the first round through trades. The first should be a QB and fill other needs elsewhere. Without a franchise QB, we will not win in this league. The days of Dilfer type QBs winning are going to be even more rare than ever with the rules the way they are.

  15. Tom Edrington Says:

Too many people are enthralled with Mariota’s 40-time and running ability….not sure how big (or small) he is but doesn’t look that tall in the huddle. They say he is 6-4 but sure doesn’t look it.

Given this regime’s inability to evaluate talent, not sure any of it matters.

  16. bucrightoff Says:

How are the Bucs getting another first round pick? There is absolutely no one who is worth a first round pick on this team except the untradeable guys, Evans, LVD and GMC. After that? I seriously doubt anyone else on the roster nets anything above a 3rd round pick. Only way Bucs get multiple 1st round picks is by trading back at the draft. And I can only imagine the fury if the Bucs trade back and don’t get a QB. Then all the people preaching give Lovie time will be demanding he be fired.

  17. Dean Says:

The time has come for the Bucs to make changes to provide a spark. The offense has looked a little better. The defense has looked a little better. Not great on either side, but a LITTLE better. What the Bucs need is a spark. Some real excitement and a couple more plays. The only person we can turn to for that spark is McCown. He can’t be much more pedestrian than Mike. Let’s make the change and just see if he can provide a couple more plays, some excitement and some better decisions than he showed at the beginning of the season.

  18. StPeteBucsFan Says:

What is so important about winning another game or two.

We need to stop this CULTURE of losing. It’s infectious and becomes harder and harder to break with each loss. I want to WIN every game.

How many games have we lost this year that we should have won? Why? Because we have a culture of losing!!!

I have no problem with drafting a QB #1 next year. IMO it doesn’t have to be Jameis although he is clearly talented as are Mariotta and my personal favorite Dak Prescott. Michigan State’s QB might be the real deal. Point is no matter who we draft it will be a crap shoot, yes FSU fans even Jameis is no lock although I readily concede he is the best COLLEGE QB. So was Tim Tebow!
College is not the NFL. Winston also has the ability to self destruct off the field and become simply a more talented version of JFro.

Let’s start WINNING some games a begin building a culture of WINNERS.
Besides if you have any compassion at all you HAVE to feel sorry for GMC, LD, Mike Evans and the others. But especially GMC who played his heart out yesterday!

  19. Soggy Says:

Lovie has got a real good reason to lose from here out=Draft..But might mess that up anyways..

“I sleep much better knowing the Bucs already have their QB of the future. Glennon is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

You sleep better because you have to be on some kind of drugs…or something.

  21. ruggyup Says:

To all those who say, “i”m officially over with Glennon” and other comments like that, your savagery might be more effective if directed to the Bucs organization in general from the owner down to the locker room guy. Remember the guy who sad, “kill all the lawyers”? Keyword, all.

  22. theodore Says:

How is Glennon supposed to succeed when the Bucs don’t have a true 3rd WR?

  23. Buc1987 Says:

Come on over to the tanking side of life that I live and it makes the failures that much easier to understand. The players aren’t tanking it, the coaches are. Only they have to make the team look improved and show signs of life. Since they went 0-3, they don’t want to win. The Steelers game was a fluke and a wrinkle in their plans. You can’t be this inept and not be tanking it.

  24. Buc1987 Says:

“How is Glennon supposed to succeed when the Bucs don’t have a true 3rd WR?”

Really you’re going with that excuse? Last season it was because he only had Vjax and now you’re blaming the lack of a 3rd WR?

    Glennon is DONE…son.

Game over, draft a QB in the first and make it Jameis if you want anyone to buy any tickets at all next season.

  25. willie d Says:

Curse of Eric Page, 1-15 draft that nice young man from FSU and watch him never make it to camp because he will be in jail after he cashes that first check.

  26. Jeagan1999 Says:

I remain confident that Glennon will be a good NFL a QB….the question I have now is, is “good” good enough? Glennon continues to show some maddening inconsistencies…missing open guys, throwing into coverage, holding onto the ball too long, etc… To me the question is what kind of team are the BUCS going to be? If we have a stifling defense and a great running game, we don’t need a prolific passer, just a steady game manager ( ala Russel Wilson), but if we can’t get that type of defense on the field, we may have to look at another QB in the draft to be the guy! Give Glennon the next 8 games to show what he can do and then use our high draft pick to either get the QB of the future, or the best defensive player available.

  27. Buc1987 Says:

Glennon and a shiny new DE or LT won’t sell any tickets all next season. A shiny new QB will. That’s just smart business….

  28. Sick of this $hit Says:

Glennon threw short on that throw to Vjax with nothing between him and the endzone but open air. Vjax had to stop his route to catch the ball and was immediately tackled. Glennon threw short on the long ball that got picked. Glennon needs to be more aware in the pocket and decide to scramble quicker. And when he does take off, if hes going to used that ugly ass dive of his, then please make an effort to dive for a first down.
To be fair, when he has time to throw he throws well. As evidenced by a couple nice tosses to Evans. But Glennons biggest enemy is his own consistency. Dont get me wrong. Im not starting a start McCown movement. He aint the answer either. But we need to draft, trade, or go free agency shopping for a new qb after this season. Glennon has reached his ceiling.

  29. $acbuc$ Says:

Is it me or do it seem like the refs dont give the Bucs a fair shake. They review all our TD even when its apparent. Im over Mike G he cant get it done. Nice deep ball though. The first draft pick aint worth spit if you dont pick the right players. It took a injury for coaching staff to see Cousins is a better tackle then Collins.

  30. $acbuc$ Says:

Mike G reminds me of Freeman after Raheem and Olsen told him not to run.

  31. ToesOnTheLine! Says:

No but it might win games which would also sell tickets. I’m just not sold that if Lovie is still the Bucs HC (which he probably will be) that he’ll deviate from his philosophy of trying to create a dominant defense and give Glennon another year at starter. As much as we fans are frustrated by Glennon’s past two games the reality is he’s playing better than most all the other starters with 3 or less years of starting QB experience.

  32. Patrick in VA Says:

@$acbuc$ – It was one game. I’m not sure if Cousins is a better T than Collins yet, but I would like to see it turn out that way. Collins had a few good games against top edge rushers as well so this game by Cousins could be just as much an anomaly as those games from Collins. I think that it should be Cousins job until he loses it though.

  33. theodore Says:

@Buc1987 – No way. Glennon gave the Bucs a half time lead. This lose is on the defense and Mike Evans’ inability to adjust to Glennon’s accurately under thrown ball.

  34. Sick of this $hit Says:

Oh, and one other thing. Ownership of the offense has been sitting there for the taking and Glennon wants nothing to do with it. I dont see him coaching up his guys. I dont see him chewing on someones ass and grabbing face masks when a lineman misses an assignment or commits a stupid penalty. Hes had multiple chances to take things over like a true boss but he wont. Let Manning’s center try to pull off some of the things that EDS has done this season and see how that works out for him. Manning, Brady, Brees, and other good qbs will shame the rest of the players into playing better.

  35. Bogiedr Says:

This is too funny. MGM tour bus’ wheels falling off. Assign yourselves a number as you jump off for identification purposes in case of head trauma as you hit the pavement.

  36. MadMax Says:

@Buc1987, what do you think about Bryce Petty? I say we pull a washington and draft 2 QB’s…the 1st on Winston and 2nd on Petty.

  37. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

DRAFT JAMEIS……dont get rid of penn or zuttah or wright…great personnel moves…FIRE LOVIE he has no clue

  38. CalBucsFan Says:

Hey Joe, what would it take to get Johnny Football away from Cleveland? Regardless, JUST DO IT!

  39. OneLove Says:

If we run the ball too much, then we didn’t pass enough… If we pass the ball too much, then we didn’t run the ball enough!! Can we get some consistency here please!!

There’s so much flip flopping on here it reminds me of the GOP!

  40. Buc1987 Says:

@Max…yeah I like that kid too. He definitely knows how to hit WR’s in stride and from what I can tell he reads defenses pretty damned well.

For those of you that think Winston is a bust in waiting….you NEED to read this.
I won’t post the link because that would just piss Joe off. It’s a VERY good read and it breaks it down exactly why he’s so damned good. He’s been good since middle school…

Google : The legend of Jameis Winston. Pick the one at the top.

@Joe it’s a good read for you too as well if you can find the time.

  41. Mike10 Says:

That sack was nasty, even though he has a slight little “fat man wobble” coming off that hit on the center/guard..

Watching that steelers game, i thought the exact same thing! We beat them in Pitt, in the same stadium they beat up on Baltimore, who owned us in Ray Jay… that’s why i don’t bet on football. But watching that game I couldn’t help but to sit back and enjoy some real football and not the mess of a “someone-has-to-win-bowl” we’re stuck with in the Bucs. Seeing two teams with so much dam intensity and skilled players all over the field… The last time I can remember catching a hint of that from the Yucks was against MIA a few years back… but then again it was miami.

And as far as Maddon… all i can say, is that $hit Sucks! I’m not sure if I’ve ever been as down about sports move as I have become from him leaving. After a crap season, and losing Friedman, and losing Price for a less than desirable return, and knowing that farm system is dry… dam.. dark days. That Rays flat brim is gonna collect some dust before I can brush off that heart break

  42. Buc1987 Says:

    My non football thoughts…

@One Love …man you Dems are on edge. About to lose the Senate. I can’t think of a bigger flip flopper in the history of America than Charlie Crist. “I’m a conservative republican” to “I’m running as an independent” to “I’m running as a democrat”. I saw a guy on the open thread yesterday mention Scott was a flip flopper..but he didn’t explain why. I’ve never seen him flip flop at all on issues.

Oh well I didn’t want to have to go there on a football blog site, but you made me do it.

    Tanketh for Jameth!

  43. Cigarfan Says:

I think grabbing Johnny Football from Cleveland for next season is a great idea. We can get Tim Tebow in this year , even as another back up (he needs a job). Both of those QBs are very popular. Those two moves would cause ticket sales to skyrocket!! Maybe get some excitement in the stadium for a change.

  44. Buc1987 Says:

Cigarfan…those 2 QB’s would make me stay home. I’d take a wait and see approach like I did this season.

Winston on the other and they will own my credit card for 10 years…

  45. Bear the Bucs Says:

One Love says “There’s so much flip flopping, it reminds him of the GOP”. Ever hear of flipping Charlie Crist ? If Joe Madden doesn’t want to stay here, let the door hit him in the arse ! But remember – He has the Billy Goat curse working against him. None of you probably remember the Cubs 1969 collapse or the Bartman ball controversy, but the curse from the 40’s is real. On the other side of the coin, with the owner publically declaring he’s cutting payroll and the nothing coming up from the minors, his timing on leaving is probably pretty good.

  46. Bear the Bucs Says:

Johnny Football for a 2nd round pick ! Create some excitement !

  47. HeinousJameis aka delson Says:

Hey I don’t think kevin odea told mankins to stare at grass during that play. Put mankins on phukin blast!! Shame that mf!! Publicly!!

  48. bucrightoff Says:

87, how would they own your CC for 10 years when Jameis busts out in 5 or less? You’re gonna keep going even when he’s gone?

  49. Luther Says:

I don’t want Manziel on this team. Word out of Cleveland is he can’t read defenses and only reads half the field then starts running. That to me sounds like Mike Vick and Manziel has even more baggage around him at the start of his career…no thanks. I would take Mariota or Winston and feel quite happy that we have a QB that is accurate and can hit a wide open receiver.

  50. HeinousJameis aka delson Says:

How many double coverage passes does jameis throw per game? I’d like to see that stat.

  51. HeinousJameis aka delson Says:

Buc1987 bout to check out that article

  52. Buc'n Enough Says:

This is an expansion team pure and simple ( clown uni’s to as well ). Go back to the last 5 drafts under the “rock star” plus add a few bust’s from Bruce Allen and Gruden and you will find this team is poorly staffed, it will take 3-5 years to get this ship turned around. It is really and expansion team… There are no quick fixes period.

The five drafts under the Dom produced McCoy and David, that is it!
5 drafts….and you get two players. Mason Foster is average at best.

So…it will be along time before these yuc’s can win some games…the biggest difference is there was excitement the first time these guys were an expansion team..this time, they have worn the fans out ….

  53. Buc1987 Says:

    bucrightoff…just read the article.

  54. louden Says:

wow; Joe you just got all my respect for a truly good article. Truth said! I will add: to the talent evaluation: the horrible draft “plan”.

How could we trust Lovie to correct all his short commings in the next year???

Rob Chudzinski for TampaBayBuccaneers HC 2014!!!
Get this guy! His f´n loves Football, is a football geek, has a cllue about modern NFL-Offenses, Was cut by the browns, drafted well, is currently a special assistant to the HC and could make one hell of an hire next year..

Fire Lovie now, after Chuck get Chud and let him evaluate what he´s got here as soon as possible!!!

  55. Bucsfanman Says:

Yep, the Bucs are 1-7 because of Mike Glennon! I’m sure it has nothing to do with rookie receivers running by our pro-bowl corner or veteran receivers dropping passes or piss-poor special teams or a sieve for an offensive line or linebackers out of position or our highly paid right defensive end getting pushed around. It also probably has nothing to do with field position when the 2nd highest paid punter in the league can’t punt beyond 35 yards or the play calling on 2nd and 1. Yes, surely the quarterback is to blame for all this mess.
I’m not saying Glennon is not to blame here. Be real though, this TEAM stinks! If you think drafting a QB will right all these wrongs you are sadly mistaken.
    Glennon? Really?! We’re 1-7 and it’s Glennon’s fault?! Geez.

  56. bucco bruce Says:

It hasn’t been all Glennon’s fault all year for sure, but I think the team was good enough on defense to win yesterday despite sp.team errors…and the offense and Glennon in particular blew it…

  57. BucTrooper Says:

    Joe brings up a point:::

“When was the last time a Bucs quarterback made it to his second contract?”

Joe, I’ll do you one better….

When was the last time a Bucs PLAYER made it to his second contract?

There’s been 2 in 6 years! And one of them took that contract to the Bills in a trade. TWO!!!!!

  58. Bucsfanman Says:

@bucco- ARRRRRR! Point taken, but we are 1 and 7. What about all the late game meltdowns in the other 6 games we lost?
I’m just trying to keep it real. Overall, this team is bad. My hangovers are getting worse and worse every Monday. I was hoping to watch some better football this late in the season. Maybe Charles Sims is the answer!!!

  59. Joe Says:

Hey Joe, what would it take to get Johnny Football away from Cleveland? Regardless, JUST DO IT!

From what Joe has learned, nothing.
