Charles Tillman: Lovie Wants To Stick It To Bears

The hype already is in full swing in the Windy City with Lovie Smith returning Sunday to coach against his former Bears, the team that fired him after a 10-6 season in 2012.
Injured Bears icon Charles Tillman shared plenty about how Lovie wants to stick it to the Bears.
Joe really recommends this excellent CSNChicago video. Tillman also has a telling take on Josh McCown’s leadership, ranking him as a top-5 teammate.

Yet another player with a tremendous amount of respect for Lovie Smith. Funny how we have so many experts on this board that feel like they know more about Lovie than a guy like Charles Tillman would. Although it’s a really tough choice for me, I’m going to lean towards listening to Tillman over guys named “lightningbuc” and “rober9”, but that’ just me.

Oh man, I don’t care about any other game but this one. I want the Bucs to humiliate the Bears this will be their playoff game and the Bucs have a chance to give the coaching staff over there a “Denny Green moment”. Their defense is terrible but they will blitz Josh so I hope that the Bucs OC incorporates more screens and sweeps and maybe a flee flicker into their offense.

Of course they love Lovie, he wears flip flops to work and greatly respects them (but don’t cuss – not allowed), unlike that big meanie Schiano who had the audacity to make guys have their toes on the line and picked their pasta for them.

First of all, Bellicheck’s players love him. That’s been well documented. As for Lovie, he’s had success that would lead you to believe he is a good coach (I don’t throw the word “great” around). He has coached and developed many really good players (Tillman being one of them). As a head coach, one of your most important jobs is to get your players to believe in you and buy into your system. Lovie has excelled in that in the past. There’s no reason to believe he can’t do that here, but he has to get rid of some of the guys that don’t buy in (ahem Mark Barron).

Professional athletes want to be treated like men. How would you feel if your boss made you eat what he wanted you to eat for lunch? How about if he told you how to sit at your desk? How about if he screamed and hollered like a mad man at you all day? How would you feel about having to recite stupid slogans all day? I’d bet you wouldn’t like it, and there’s a good chance you wouldn’t be as dedicated to your job. It’s no different with professional athletes. This is their job, not a game. No matter how much you wish otherwise, it is what it is. They are grown men. They are no longer going to respond well to being screamed and yelled at all day. In high school and college, maybe. But not now.

The bear are licking there chops to play the train wreck that is the Lovie Lead Buc team. The bears coaches are telling the players that it will be a disgrace if they don’t have the game out of hand by half time!!!
and Lovie will have no answers!

cutler won’t miss when those big play WRs get behind our defense over and over again. if we have a chance of winning this game it involves us scoring at least 35. at least. if we start slow this will be like the falcons & ravens games

When we score 27 pts or more we are 2-1. If we score under 20 pts we are 0-7. So we have to score at least 27, right?

Your argument is wrong, it’s very different. Our bosses don’t pay us millions. If they did, they could scream at me and pick my pasta all day long. Professional football is not your average day job, so your comparison fails right off the bat.

Mark barron went from being on the worst def in the league to arguably one of the best def in the league. Barron is not complaining I bet he feels like he got the better part of that deal. I still haven’t seen any ints from the safety group but that’s another conversation.
Chip Kelly sets a diet for his players. They follow a schedule and are told what to eat and drink. But I guess that’s the difference between winners and losers. Losers say don’t tell me what to do, I already know as they loss 3/4 of their games. Winners say hey what we’re doing isn’t working let try something new, let get out of our comfort zone.
Lovie and the bucs are going to Chicago with all the confidence in the world until that first hit when the helmet cracks and feels like cement. The ball breaks your hands and the ground is rock hard. We too soft to play in the cold. How many of you are wearing coats today bc it’s 50 degrees out side? Don’t lie. Lol I know I am.

It was good to hear Josh is among the top-5 teammates for a long tenured defensive player for the Bears. That further validates what McCoy was telling about McCown, that he is very involved even with helping the defense. McCown has to be retained by Bucs beyond 2015, I don’t care in what capacity, be it backup QB or QB coach.

Hope for above 40 degree temps in Chicago next Sunday. Bears broke home winless streak, Bucs seem to play better away, sounds like a toss up to me.

It’s absolutely the same. First of all, most NFL players don’t make millions. Get your facts straight. Only a select handful make that much. Second, they are paid what they are paid because they have a unique skill set. If we don’t pay them, someone else will. While you may tolerate being screamed at and allowing someone to pick your pasta, what if you could go somewhere else where you wouldn’t have to? How would you feel when you realized that most of your peers got to eat whatever kind of pasta they liked? Still think it’s different?

No 727buc, the concept remains the same no matter what you make.
I make an excellent five figure salary but recent changes in management and structure has the company micromanaging me and treating me like a cog in the machine rather than a human being.
This is in a sales positiion which is performance based like those of a pro athlete.
The end result has been I have had a negative reactance to all this meddling and my sales have dropped as a result. Their not being straight up with me on a number of issues hasn’t helped their cause any either.
The end result is I am looking for another job where I might make less money, but it will be in a sales climate where I am treated like an adult.

The Bears will come out hot in the first quarter but cutler will be cutler and help the Bucs out. The Bucs will then go on to stomp a mud hole in the Bears. The Bears run/pass defense is bad and they really don’t like Cutler so I have 14pts on Tampa.
