Da’Quan Bowers Offers Career Guidance

June 2nd, 2014

daquan bowers 0101It’s that time of year, when loads of high school kids contemplate how much summer cash they can earn flipping burgers or manning drive-thru windows.

They may think they’re cool and ready to take on the world after taking home a few hundred bucks a week, but fast-food labor isn’t necessarily a great future, notes Da’Quan Bowers.

The Bucs’ defensive end took to Twitter this morning to share some higher mathematics in the form of career guidance.

A wiseass Bucs fan might have read that and thought Bowers was considering his own future over an Egg McMuffin. But don’t count out Bowers yet. He’s been injured repeatedly through his career, but on Wednesday he celebrated his health, also via Twitter.

Joe hopes Bowers can fulfill his potential. Joe’s hardly counting on it, but what a heavenly gift it would be if Bowers can get after it like he did in college.

As for what will happen if Bowers doesn’t produce this year, enjoy the video below. Bowers already has another heavenly career in gospel.

I honestly hope we keep him and clay until after this season just to see if they can actually get it together.

  2. SeanyMac in SC Says:

I’d like to see DB91 do well, but how much longer can we wait for that to happen?

  3. Jim Walker Says:

Whichever wins the position battle, Bowers or Clayborne, the Bucs only have a rotation guy at best as a starter. Not good.

  4. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Starting to get my feet back under me!!”

Sigh. So he isn’t healthy yet.

  5. Atlanta Buc Says:

Mr. Bennett sends his best wishes to you in regards to your new found health.
He said his knee is still bothering him a bit out in Seattle; so he occasionally props it up on the team Superbowl trophy to keep himself fresh for OTA’s.

  6. BucTrooper Says:

Just the biggest freakin’ eye roll ever. What a colossal waste of a roster spot.

Just another 2nd Round Dominik Bust.

  7. Captain Stagger Says:

    Dline roster:

    Johnson
    Clayborn
    Gholston
    Means
    Bowers
    McCoy
    McDonald
    Spence
    Cummings

Bowers will be kept, he is at least versitle and can kick inside. He has a lot of built in excuses….but they are valid. When healthy, wayyyyyy back when, he flashed a little……let’s see if Cullen can tap into that.

  8. Back, from Davie Jones Locker Says:

“How much longer can we keep him”
    “Sigh, he’s not healthy yet?”

Hmm. Weren’t you the same guys that wanted to cut McCoy, after tearing a bicep two years in a row?
    “Doesn’t produce” “can’t stay Healthy”
Yeah McCoy- the best DT in football. And don’t even say Suh- who’s production has declined each year in the league.

It takes about 3 years to adjust to The NFL.

How many if you were as good the first day of your job- as you are 3 years later?
    Exactly.
Bowers was considered the sure bet , for first pick in the draft.
The came the “degenerative knee” scare, that dropped him to top if the second.

He will rise to his potential. He is a good kid

  9. ElioT Says:

    Bowers has mush for brains?

    Go Bucs!!!

  10. Harry Says:

    What a waste.

  11. Harry Says:

I hope one of those McDonalds kids tweets Bowers back with some advice to show more appreciation for the gifts God has blessed him with and to show it by working his azz off and getting those 10 sacks he promised he’d get last year. These kids just don’t get what an opportunity they have in front of them that has such a small window.

I have no patience for this dumb azz crap!

  12. sam Says:

I want bowers to EXPLODE this year. We could realistically have 3-4 player’s on our dline in double digit sacks. McCoy, Johnson, Bowers/Clayborn.

  13. Danati74 Says:

He has to remember that Gholston took the starting job late last year. If he and AC are both just rotation guys, then we should have been able to draft them in later rounds. I actually want to see more of Gholston and Means. Tired of being let down.

  14. buc4lyfe Says:

His problem is mental like Freeman…..all the talent size and intangibles a players needs but no heart drive or fighters spirit Don’t wait until your cut to get motivation, wake up and realize you have a chance to earn big whether it’s in Tampa or another city. Rooting for all our borderline busts

  15. Buc1987 Says:

Bowers is toast…count on it. Bank on it.

  16. owlykat Says:

Lovie will tell Bowers he has to produce this year. He best do it or he will be history. Lovie means business and he has already shown what happens to those who do not produce! Talk is cheap with Lovie. You give your best or else! That is what will bring the Bucs to a dynasty once they get a true Franchise QB, but Josh has the ability and experience to be our Franchise QB for two or three years and he is going for it! Next year Lovie needs to trade up to get a Franchise QB to keep the dynasty going. For now he will try to improve Glennon to as good as he can be to trade for the pick to add to next year’s first round pick to get that Franchise QB to take over after Josh without losing a beat.

  17. Max Says:

cut this guy, waste of time
