Greg Schiano Speaks

December 29th, 2013

As one can expect, the mood of Bucs commander Greg Schiano was somber after the belt-whipping Drew Brees and the Saints dished out to the Bucs this afternoon in the Big Easy, ending a dreadful 2013 campaign.

Speaking on the Buccaneers Radio Network, Schiano was brief in his words but summed it up saying that when you face a future Hall of Fame quarterback like Drew Brees in his house, sometimes the results are just downright bad.

“It’s very frustrating,” Schiano said but the beatdown. “We have a bunch of guys in that [players'] locker room, that coaches’ locker room, that worked very hard. We made some mistakes. We got outplayed and out-coached. It is disappointing for the players, for the fans. It’s not for a lack of guys working their tails off. Sometimes, you hit a bad patch like this.

“We made too many mistakes against a very good player to be able to slow him down.”

Joe can’t get too angry about this loss. Who really didn’t see this coming? The Saints at home are a team that plays at a different level than the Bucs, plain and simple.

Plus, the Saints needed a win to make the playoffs (remember those?). Who truly didn’t expect the Saints and Brees to be playing with their A-game?

Like I said before…..blah, blah, blah.

  2. CJO Says:

We all saw this coming, so the question is giving up over 40 points (losing by 25, no 2nd half TDs.. again) to cap off a 4-12 season enough to end New Schaino Order.

  3. Santa Says:

I don’t know anyone who thought the bucs would win today.

  4. Clowney Says:

Maybe, we should change his nickname from the Little General to “Bad Patches” Schiano.

8 game losing stretches and ending the season with a 3 game skid is mediocrity personified. Mediocrity doesn’t sell tickets.

  5. Mr. Patrick Says:

What else could he say? We all saw him get outcoached as usual. And just because the players are playing hard doesn’t mean they are playing well. And actually in the 4th quarter some of them weren’t playing very hard. The Bucs will never be a Championship caliber team with Schiano as Head Coach

  6. Mr. Patrick Says:

    @ Clowney
They have to get a whole lot better to reach the level of Mediocrity

  7. Schiano Happens Says:

Photoshop Ray Perkins’ face on his body every time you post a pic of this fool. I’m sick of his face.

Miss me with the sometimes bs your 0-4 against the Saints all time….schiano that is lmao that means blanked in your house and there’s… he’ll never b able to hold Sean Payton jock strap or clip board for this analogy. You kno what if we have to be stuck with this bs he calls a product just put the sorry product out there and stop talking every time I think it can’t get worse he opens his mouth and pollutes the tax payers of Florida

  9. BFFL Says:

Okay Buc fans, the exciting part of the season is starting for us now. We get to find out if and what changes will be made to the coaching staff/GM and look forward to free agency and the draft. Seriously though, it’s sad when the offseason is more exciting than the regular season.

  10. JN Says:

Typical runaround by a less than mediocre NFL coach. Doesn’t matter where or who your team plays you want them to be competitive with a chance to win. Nobody in their right mind thought the Bucs would win today against the wildcard Saints. The Glazers need to implode this mess.

  11. Architek Says:

    Sad

  12. Mr. Patrick Says:

I wonder if Schiano has realized yet that he is way in over his head?

This rumor of Schiano staying has to be just that , a rumor. How can a team with so much league wide known talent, settle with this telephone tough guy. He has rubbed many the wrong way, stubborn and unapproachable with no reputation to stand on. He prided himself on being meticulous with the finer points of the game, yet we are penalized on the upper end of the league. Drops and miss tackles are a hobby. I know can lead them to the water but cant teach them to drink. Can not be one sided tho, I, along with many are happy the way everything worked out with Freeeman. No playoffs in two years is a problem , the south is getting stronger and Tamoa has to use excuses to decide why they aren’t in the Playoffs. Dominick is a part of the problem or solution but Schiano is nowhere near finding a solution. The Oliine and DLine must be addressed via FA and Draft not one or the other. Also time to cut ties with sloppy, plain football. Names Like Josh McDaniels and Mel Tucker need to be contacted. Thank you for your time -SEEDOFCHUCKE007

  14. sho-nuff Says:

Calling for Cox media to post FIRE DOMINICK billboards everywhere….schiano is a given

  15. bigpoppabuc Says:

1-5 against division opponents. Not acceptable. He must go.

  16. Jason Says:

I will fault Greg cause he’s right you can’t blame the players you have to point the fingers at the hc and assistants for not getting the players ready!

  17. BUllSCHIANO Says:

Fire this farce of a coach, fire him now, bring in someone with some class and NFL pedigree.

  18. BUllSCHIANO Says:

Yes-Yes Seedofchucke007, We need an Offense minded coach in the worst way. Something we have not had since chucky. Throw Ken Wisenhut into that mix as well.

  19. Trubucfan22 Says:

I never expect the bucs to lose. I might be naive but the bucs very nearly beat the saints earlier this season. And the bucs have a history of playing very well against the saints in their house. If my memory serves me right Raheem Morris’ teams have won there twice. once being before the saints won a Super Bowl. So I don’t give schiano a break for losing a game he “should have lost”. If you can pen in losses to games that havent been played, then major changes need to be made. Then team isn’t at full strength but by years they should be playing their best. A whole season worth of practice and playbook installs should make this team better than any point during the season. But no the first game early in the season Against the saints was a million times better than today’s effort. The bucs have regressed during the season and that is unacceptable. Fire schiano, draft a qb, that’s the only way this team will improve for next year.

  20. Analacubana Says:

But we do so well in practice ! Still lmao really so I don’t cry.

  21. RustyRhino Says:

Where is it written that a new coach and new QB = Wins…? We have had both and few wins in our own history. Yes we did win it all with a new coach, but looking back at our new coach new QB history we do not have a great story to tell from it. Yeah I know if we get Johnny football and a new HC, GM we will….. we will what? Win? Win games in the NFL with a immature player wannabe? With a new Head Coach new GM. That looks like a rough road ahead to me. I do not like to lose. but change does not always produce wins. That takes skill and luck.

  22. buc4lyfe Says:

Especially when you send a house blitz every other play…..it has to be real frustrating to be a moron
