Unanimous Victory Call

December 10th, 2017

More than just one game

Many keen Bucs observers are predicting victory today against the 6-6 Lions, even though Detroit is fighting for its playoff life and routinely puts up a lot of points.

Joe imagines Team Glazer expects the same.

There’s quality pregame listening on the latest Ira Kaufman Podcast, if you haven’t already taken it in. There, the JoeBucsFan crew and Ira unanimously expect a “W” today by the Buccaneers, as well.

That victory would advance Tampa Bay’s record to 4-2 at home this season, on the heels of 4-4 at home last year. Tampa Bay hasn’t had a winning record in Tampa since 2008, when some guy named Chucky patrolled the sidelines. So a win today would give the Bucs a solid shot to end that streak.

As a result, it’s a massive day for Dirk Koetter, who needs to show everyone that he’s righted the Bucs’ ship in the second half of the season. Allegedly, Team Glazer is all about the arrow pointing up when it evaluates its head coaches each season. Establishing a legitimate home advantage/consistency would go a long way to help Koetter’s cause.

It also would keep next week’s Monday Night Football/Chucky Ring Of Honor Night from becoming a complete circus and community vigil to hire the Bucs’ Super Bowl-winning coach.

Go Bucs!

If Doug Martin starts this game and plays the majority of the snaps we will lose.

  2. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Easy, not necessarily. We COULD see a miracle. Tis the season!

  3. TonyC Says:

Not sure why anyone would predict the Bucs to win this game. With this pathetic, uninspired coaching staff that is unable to make game time adjustments and is so intractable when it comes to “certain” players (Doug Martin)how is it possible to have any faith in this team. I would really like to see someone like Matt Patricia running this team. He seems like an authentic”no nonsense” coach who could get the most of out his players.

  4. Easy Says:

TonyC we need an offensive mind who can develop our quarterback and young players.

  5. Hodad Says:

Joe, the Glazers are expecting a win today? I think they were expecting more then a 4, or 5 win season. This game can’t save Koetters job, but it can sure bury him.

  6. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Since this will be the ONLY game I am attending this year, I would sure like to see us win!
Detroit has a big D Line. It is not easy to run inside against them.
To win, we need to keep Stafford off the field.
    Go Tampa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Son of Kobe Faker Says:

Didnt lovie get fired going 6-10?

    Detroit 17-14

My dad and I will be watching on our new 25″ bubbleback tv we found at a trashcan at a snobby rich neighborhood

We have 4 chucky dolls beside us rooting for Detroit

No comment on who is going to win but curious…

…did anyone else see on NFL Networks a few minutes ago claiming there are differences of opinion brewing between Koetter and Winston? Two points of contention, lack of concern for Jameis’ injury and vanilla play calling.

Time to break out the popcorn, the crap show is climaxing!

  9. LocalJoker Says:

Game plan today is to karate chop Stafford’s hand. Swell it up so bad he couldn’t grab an Uber driver!

Game plan today is to karate chop Stafford’s hand. Swell it up so bad he couldn’t grab an Uber driver!

That would be possible if Jason Licht built up the defensive line.

  11. SB Says:

I’m not even ok with Martin starting, but if he gets the bulk of the carries then I am officially done with Koetter. I have supported Koetter the whole time but if he sticks with Martin I can no longer stand behind him.

  12. Mike Johnson Says:

If Stafford is just at 60% of himself even with his hand injury..we lose.Thats how bad our Defense is. So you holy rollers, take out your beads, crosses and the good book. Hope..Wish and Pray..for a victory. Maybe the football Gods…..?

I agree, I like patricia. I think we need a defensive minded coach. Defense wins games, and championships. We can still hire a great O coordinator for the offense easy. Vice versa too I suppose. First and foremost we need a head coach who is a head coach. Not one who is clueless, about alot of things. Wtf happened to all the mike smith talk about putting his players in position to succeed and adjusting the scheme to suit his opponent? Havnt seen it one bit. Outcoached every week. Inexcusable

you are dead wrong sir… defense wins ONE championship and NOTHING…. Name me ONE defense only team like the bucs, ravens, broncos etc that have won primarily with defense. NONE of them repeated nor dominated again. Please name the last DEFENSIVE dynasty that has won multiple championships like cowboys, patriots etc… ONE dimensional defensive first teams never compete consistently. The teams that WIN multiple championships have franchise quarterbacks and offenses that can score.

before you spew the steelers let me just call BS and have you go count all the hall of famers off the steelers teams of the 70’s on offense..

defenses wins A championship not championshipS.

  15. mark2001 Says:

Mike…probably accurate. Detroit is never an easy game, and they have everything to lose if they lose. But don’t discount their backup either, as those guys have never been a “sure thing” for us. In fact, after their game last week, they may come out on fire, especially as Caldwell might be on the hot seat as well. We will see.

  16. AlteredEgo Says:

I don’t use the hate word…but boy oh boy do I dislike the Lions…going back to the Ole Sombrero NFC north days when the Lions were always one game better than the Buc’s at the bottom of WL record any particular year but the toothless loudmouths talked sheet like they were perennial SB Champs….Go Bucs !

  17. mark2001 Says:

Altered…I still hate them for drafting Megatron ahead of us.

  18. Dan Says:

    We aren’t winning another game
